  • How to replace the low-beam bulb on a 2015, BMW 328 GT, F34. Bulb used, H7 halogen
There are a few tabs around the bulb that must be slightly bent. Here is a link to a description of that step and a pic that helped me. f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...
Note: My 7 year old son wanted to learn how videos were scripted, story boarded, shot and edited. While not a complete work of art, this video was a project we did together so he could learn the basics of video creation. We hope you will find it to be of some use.

Thanks for your tabs tip on the bulb. Everybody skipped that step and just said they got it back in. I was frustrated until I found your video. First bulb took me about 30 minutes because I couldn't get the bulb back in. 2nd bulb took 2 minutes or less. THANK YOU!!!!

Thanks for showing such a clear image of the tabs holding the bulb in. That's the trickiest part of this and it's really hard to get a good image from such a small place.

I'm right handed and found turning the driver side wheel inward worked best for me. I had to do the entire job by feel. On the other side, I left the wheels where they were so now the passenger side wheel was facing outward and did the everything like before left handed now that I had some experience. Looking back on it, I think the outward for the passenger side did give me more space where I needed it doing everything left handed. Since I wasn't going to repeat the experiment on the right side, I called the job done and moved on. By the way, I used a quarter to pop the outer cover clasps which worked great as they fit perfectly to do this job and require minimum space. Any job I walk away from with no burns or cuts is a win and this was just a dirty job since you are in the wheel well with a tire that's in the way. I did both lights in about 15 minutes with most of the time spent on the first one.

Me too, I had to take the whole thing out and then disconnect it. I also had to do it all blind cuz I absolutely could not see in at all. I used my camera and took pictures to see if I was even close. This was most annoying thing I’ve ever done.

It’s very difficult to film in a small opening with hands in there too.
There are three metal tabs around it that are holding the lightbulb in place. They need to be bent slightly outward. Then you’ll be able to pull out the lightbulb. Around the 2:25-2:30 mark you can see what it looks like. Remember to bend them back when putting in the new lightbulb.

Never does any local mechanics want to touch BMW. I do not blame them these vehicles when things need to be fixed are a pain in the ass. But it takes a lot for them to need. Except for the gaskets. Who ever created those for the BMW is an idiot.

Hi @beincute, I don’t think being a female viewer has anything to do with it. I’m certain it was more a result of the detail I covered (or didn’t in this case). I should have mentioned in the description that my son wanted to learn how to script, storyboard, shoot and edit a video. We did this together as an opportunity for him to learn before producing his own video. Clearly we missed some details. I hope you were able to find a better video. @@CP-ux9zd hello. It has been a while since I changed one. But if you are referring to the electrical wire that attached to the bulb, I believe it just pulls off. You might try carefully using needle nose pliers to get a hold of it if stuck. But be careful if you do. You could crimp the wire harness. I hope that helps. Maybe someone else can answer as well.
