I'll put this here too, like I did on another video. Peeps seemed to like it. I'll even add a bit of extra sauce to it too.
    The Darkling:
    _"I'm.....sorry...."_
This boss is the token Square Enix boss that mimics your party members. As its health gets lower it'll "prey" on the Travelers in the party. When it does so it'll gain a passive effect based on the latent power of the Traveler it preyed on. In addition, it'll also gain an attack based on one of the character's EX skills. It's recommended not to bring Throne to this boss as she grants it an extra action per turn. Hikari and Osvald too depending on the version of the boss fight. (Hikari for Akala and Osvald for Mahina). Castti is also not recommended due to her giving the boss a permanent regen effect and the ability to inflict ailments.
However, the Darkling will not prey on Ochette until one of two things has happened. A. It has preyed on all other Travelers first, or B. Its health has fallen below the 1/3 threshold. The boss cannot be beaten until Ochette has been preyed upon, which signals it to go to the final phase of the fight.
Castti: Darkling gains a Vim and Vigor effect(Restores 1k a turn)/Formula of Misfortune: Hits twice and can inflict ailments
Throne: Gains an extra action per turn/Blacksnake: All stat debuff on the whole party.
Osvald: 50% Elemental attack Boost/Shadow Magic: Hit everyone for dark damage twice
Partitio: Attacks can inflict Terror/BP Deficit: Whole party attack that reduces BP by 1
Agnea: Attacks hit all/Song of Despair: Dark damage to the whole party. (Not that threatening)
Temenos: Shield goes up to 10/ Scarlet Moon Prayer: All Defense Buff
Hikari: 50% Physical Attack Boost/Aggressive Strike: Aggressive Slash at max BP
    _"I'm sorry..."_
    Trousseau:
_"You leave me with no choice, Trousseau."_
Trousseau's main gimmick is the poison rain during the battle. Making this battle a race against the clock.
Every turn it shaves away some of the party's max HP. Once every Traveler has fallen below 1000 he will spam a party wipe attack that does exactly 1000 damage. As such he focuses on inflicting statuses that "waste turns" such as blindness, confusion, and sleep. Most importantly, Hinder Healing stops all recovery actions ranging from HP to SP to even BP. However, it does not stop actions and skills that have healing as a side effect such as HP Thief and Bolstering Break.
Temenos' EX skill "Prayer of Plenty" combined with Partitio's BP donate is invaluable in keeping the team above 1000 if the player is having DPS issues. Also make sure you have the equipment that boosts base health value.
Curiously, the player can act before the rain via Agnea's Windy Refrain EX skill and the Inventor Support skill "A Step Ahead"
_"I'll extend a helping hand, no matter what it takes!"_
    Claude:
    _"So you're..."_
Every time he phase transitions he will chain the party restricting them from a set of actions.
    Primary Job Skills
    Attack Actions
    Items
The only way to cleanse the chain is to break Claude's shields. As such, the player should have everyone in a subclass and alternative attacking means such as supporting skills or allured NPCs at their disposal. Most notably the residents of Lostseed are the strongest Light/Dark users in the game.
As his health gets lower he will summon apparitions of bosses previously seen in Throne's story, making this fight the boss rush. Pirro, Mother, and Father. The player should take extra care around the Father apparition as he immediately starts with "The stench of death hangs in the air". This indicates he's able to use his instant kill skill Killing Blow right off the bat should a Traveler fall below half-health and make it to his turn. Pirro also has an instant death skill but unlike Father's his can miss. Pirro's also only activates at critical health (Character is on one knee) versus Father's half.
At very low health Claude does summon two unique bosses; apparitions of Throne and her Mother.
    _"........."_
    Harvey:
    _"Let's talk, Harvey."_
Out of the eight, he's the most straightforward containing no special gimmicks. His fight seems more geared to teach the player about EX skills than the fight itself. All in all, Harvey is basically a fightable Osvald which is fitting for how the story played out.

Harvey's main strategy revolves around putting the party to sleep via "Lecture" and then charging up The One True Magic; which actually hurts him. Harvey can easily be neutered by constantly breaking him. Once he hits phase 2 (Music changes) he requires 3 turns to charge The One True Magic III, which is why he summons minions--to do his dirty work for him. Because of that you should bring Travelers that can break multiple enemies at once(Hikari, Ochette, and Temenos).
    _"HARVEY!!"_
    Steam Tank Obsidian:
    _"Let's do this, Mister Roque!"_
In my personal opinion the most fun of the eight. The train consists of four parts. The Glacis Plate, Smokestack, The Cannon, and Roque himself. Roque cannot be broken until the other 3 components are dealt with. In a way, he's a preview to Vide and Galdera. If one of the pieces is broken Roque can repair them and they act at the end of the turn. He's essentially a supped up Thurston, which is fitting since Thurston learned from Roque.
The Cannon being a cannon does the most damage and has the boost attack. You should prioritize the cannon at all costs.
In addition to the 4 component gimmick, the smokestack can obscure the turn order and poison the party. The glacis plate can blow away one of your party members temporarily disabling them.
Pro tip: If Partitio has the Arcanist job the boss cannot touch you. The boss has almost all physical skills and Partitio can grant sidestep status to the rest of the party via seal of diffusion.
    Dolcinaea:
    _"Wait for me, Laila...."_
Her fight revolves around forcing Agnea to fight alone.
She can call the crowd to temporarily take one of the Travelers out of the battle. On top of that, she can allure one of them to fight for her and use one of their class skills for her. As such you might want to bring party members that can pick on each other's weaknesses to take them out of the battle quick.
    Ochette/Castti and Partitio
    Throne and Temenos(duh)
    Hikari and Osvald (double duh)
Be prepared for your party member to linger there for a bit. They have 6k HP to burn through before they rejoin you. Annoyingly enough all that HP disappears when they come back to the party.
She also has a second gimmick; whenever she uses Encore, all her attacks gain an additional effect. The one to watch out for is Lullaby which turns into a doom spell under Encore if not cleansed. It's made even more problematic in that it puts the Travelers asleep causing them to skip their turns. This makes her one of the rare instances in Square Enix where a boss can cast doom. It might be worth it to bring anti-sleep gear just for that.
    _"Agnea Bristarni never gives up!"_
    Kaldeena:
    _"You will pay!"_
In her first phase, she tries to inflict blindness then follows up with Dark Tomb which instantly kills anyone who is under blindness.
After she transforms into Kaldeena of Night she starts to focus on Anti-heal and BP removal as a counter to Temenos. Be sure to bring multiple sources of healing to account for the difference along with a good amount of Healing Grapes(M).
When Kaldeena is broken the Anti-heal effect is temporarily removed. However the player is much better off focusing on damage.
    _"Kaldena!"_
    Enshrouded King:
Thematically he fights like a dark version of Hikari, which is redundant since you just fought Shadow Hikari. His gimmick is supposed to call back to Hikari's path actions.
Every time you break him, he changes which weapon he uses which allows you to predict his attacks. It also increases the actions per turn. Some of which that he will use to decrease the max BP of a character. Multi hit skills that don’t rely upon BP are good options to bring into this fight such as Vengeful Blade, Precise Shot, HP Thief and Aggressive Slash. Temenos as well for his latent power. The Arcanist!Partitio combo is also very viable here.
    Spear/Dagger->Axe/Bow->Spear/Axe/Staff->Sword/Dagger/Bow
That’s his weapon order and it’s fixed.
If the battle somehow lasts past 4 break cycles he will then use 4 weapons at random. I'm sorry but if the fight has dragged out that long, you need to re-think your strategy.

Good writeup. There's definitely a touch of missed potential in some of the fights, generally ones that revolve around phasing and super moves(if your party is overpowered, the boss has little recourse). Harvey in particular feels like a completely different fight in the New Dawn mod, where he has enough shields to get off his One True Magic shots.
I'd put Trousseau as my favorite of the classic fights, with Darkling probably being the hardest if you come in with the wrong party.

@@Fragmaster01 Yeah, I had to rethink how I had to go about Harvey in New Dawn- Luckily for us, there's the Arcanist Class which allows you to cast Seal of Diffusion and then Max Boost into Reflective Veil. The 4 charges is enough to last even through a max-powered One True Magic.

Square's policy is to take down OST uploads of any game released after 2019 *unless* it's accompanied by gameplay footage. That's why this video shows gameplay of the boss encounters.
