You go your whole life watching your favourite movies on a television. Getting to watch one in a theatre is a different experience; you discover new things about what you thought you already knew. With Alien specifically it’s the sound design you don’t hear with home speakers.
Alien is something truly special in theatres. I saw it in a theatre back in the mid 2000s when they released the directors cut. I had seen it well over a hundred times by that point but on the big screen it felt like the first time. The audio when Brett goes looking for the cat was incredible. The clanking chains are nightmare fuel!
Yeah. I noticed a ton of the moments and shot set up for in the theater. Absolutely stunning.

I saw Alien at a theater in '79, many times on DVD, including a 4k version. I took my son to see it last week, it was his first tine seeing the film, it was a really great experience and he loved it! At the start of the interview between Fede Alvarez and Sir Ridley, I could swear that Fede introduced himself as "Fed", without the hard "E" at the end of his name but maybe I misheard.
Saw the sequel last year for Alien Day. Best cinema experience ever seeing one of my favourite movies on the big screen

Colour me extremely jealous 😛. I'm old enough to remember seeing Alien on its release back in 1979 (and yes, I was an adult) and it was an unforgettable experience. I would love to have had that experience again but apparently some parts of the world have no culture, I shall not name and shame my place of residence. I absolutely agree about the sound in an actual cinema, the modern version of Dune was breathtakingly deafening, you believed a spaceship was landing ten yards away. That's the reason I'd always prefer a movie at the cinema, whatever the genre.

I loved it. There were only about 8 people in the theater when I saw it, and it was great.
I had the opportunity to see this movie on the big screen last Friday. What an experience !!! I have both the DVD collection Alien Quadrilogy 😁 I picked up the Blu-ray of all four films and it was properly titled alien anthology. What an experience seeing an old movie in a theater.

You've never seen an "old" movie in a theater before? Not ever? You don't have any rep house theaters near you that show classics? I find that sad. I got most of my film education at art houses and film societies.
