    Why does it say in the caption that you shot the 200 iso film @ 100? Can you set the ISO on this camera? I thought it automatically sets it?

    Very comprehensive review. I have two AF1s and I love them what they are. Good point & shoot cameras. Prices are really skyrocketing right now. I paid my AF1 3€ and a quarzdate model 1,5€ at secondhand shop. And the cheaper one was basically unused. That was three years ago. So called premium point and shoot cameras nowadays go stupid high prices. You can get CLAd Nikon F, F2 or F3 cheaper than them.

      That’s really cheap! I think people are finding other options that produce really great photos. Some premium point and shoots cost the same as a decent M3 body. Thanks for stopping by.

    Just got one shipped to door for $60, I have a XA showing up next week that I paid ~$200 for shipped to door. I'm excited to take them both out and blast a roll of film through both of them and see if they look different. With how fast these cameras are appreciating in value I'm excited to have gotten back into film before I got priced out of some of these better models...

    • @jeffdojillo

      Totally $60 is great. I purchased an XA a few years ago for about $100. Insane that it doubled in price.

    The cons you mentioned are not very cons, a modern point and shoot doesn't have manual controls, the "super"version of this camera has flash options and macro focus mode. The true cons about this camera is that the protection lens causes A LOT of flare but it can be unglued and removed.

  • @MKRShoots
    @MKRShoots Před 3 lety

    that f2.8 is sweeet for an affordable point n shoot!

    To amplify, when loading film, put the film leader to the red stripe inside the take-up side of the camera -- do NOT push it further in!
    The camera will automatically rewind when it reaches the end of the roll, but to rewind early, press the rewind button with a blunt implement such as a ballpoint pen -- do not use anything sharp, as it may pierce the rubber button allowing moisture to invade the camera. Also, pencil lead from a sharp pencil may short circuit the electrical contacts beneath the button.
    Lastly, it's lens is not identical to that of the XA. The XA has fixed front and rear elements, all focusing being accomplished by movement of the internal elements.

    hi! May I know under what circumstances do we need to use the focus lock button? or every shot need to use that button? Thanks!

    • @jeffdojillo
      @jeffdojillo Před 3 lety

      normally when you want to focus on something in the background rather than the foreground. Sometimes there are object in the scene you want to focus on and recompose the shot to keep the same focus distance. hope that helps

    What’s the difference with this camera you talk about on your video compared to Olympus Af-10 Super or MJU 1? Which one would you recommend?

    • @jeffdojillo
      @jeffdojillo Před 3 lety +1

      I haven’t used either of those cameras but the main difference that I personally notice is the how wide the lens opens up to. The two cameras you mentioned were f3.5 which is kinda slow compared to the option you have and the price. Where the AF1 opens up to F2.8

    I just bought the quartzdate version of this one ! waiting for it to get here, but i was curious if you think the super version is that much better? I feel like i made a mistake not getting the super version

      I never used the super version but from my understanding they are about the same camera. The only difference is that the super can close focus up to 50cm.
