Bodleian Old Library, University of Oxford, The UK

Let me take you to a magical place - the Bodleian Old Library in Oxford. Its magnificent interior has been featured in many movies, but there is so much more to it! The Bodleian Old library has a rich and dramatic history and is one of the places in Oxford one simply has to visit while there.
The Bodleian Old Library is accessible only via guided library tours, so make sure you get a ticket beforehand (tickets are sold at Weston Library or online).

Oh, beautifully filmed, with a very satisfying sound track - but - too short, too short !!!!!!!!
Over a long career as an Oxford academic ( but now retired ) i have had the enormous delight in spending many happy hours within the Bodleian Library - isn`t it simply gorgeous ? I do believe that the many rare and costly books and manuscripts within ( say ) Duke Humfreys Library are now wired directly to a hi-tech security system - so small chance of anyone removing a volume, thank goodness :)

Thank you so much! I envy you for having the opportunity to spend much time in this enchanting place.And indeed, the precious books in Duke Humfrey's Library are now well protected. I hope one day I will have a chance to go there again and to make a more detailed video.
