He will always be a Disney legend who has made our childhoods memorable😊 Rest in Peace David🙏
Ellie Espinoza I will forever remember him as Jumba & Cogsworth
I remember him from mash.
Yes ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I had no idea David Ogden Stiers was such a successful voice actor as well! I only knew him as Dr. Charles Emerson Winchester III from MASH. Cool! May he rest in peace.
I know him primarily from that, but I laughed when I saw that he was in an episode of Frasier. (The clip they showed at the beginning.) I started watching Frasier right before I got to Charles's beginning on MASH, and Charles _always_ reminded me of Frasier.
He was adorable in mash 😊
@@riversong4997I never knew he played my favourite character jumba
Much as I love his Disney roles.. I'll always remember him as Charles in MASH
Same
I'm really disappointed David Ogden Stiers passed away. He's an amazing actor with a fantastic voice. Rest in Peace, David Ogden Stiers. You will be remembered and missed.
RIP Charles Winchester.
If you get this reference I love you
Cipher Quest For me, he will always be Charles Emerson Winchester III.
Cipher Quest yes
Yes, I know this is his Disney roles, but much love to his role as Charles.
Damn I thought of saying that too. But you did forget to add the "III" lol 😊
I didn't know he had roles in Disney though, or a cameo in Frasier
In my eyes he will ALWAYS be Charles Emerson Winchester the Third
He was one of the best Disney voice actors
Indeed.
Chicken Pie true
I wish he would have been better as James in Thomas and the Magic Railroad which he sadly didn’t appear at all.
I was sad when I found out about his passing. At least he'll be reunited with Jerry Obarch also known as Lumiere.
Yeah you are right about that!
R.I.P. Tony Jay (Judge Frollo) and David Ogden Stiers (The Archdeacon ) Disney's The Hunchback Of Notre Dame an amazing disney film about the music and disney animation
Yes. R.I.P. to both of them. And R.I.P. Gilbert Gottfried, Russi Taylor, Miguel Ferrer, Pat Carroll, and more.
I miss David so much! He did an awesome job playing Cogsworth and the narrator in Beauty and the Beast. He will never be forgotten.
RIP David Ogden Stiers. Cogsworth is now reunited with Lumiere. Jerry Orbach (voice of Lumiere) died a decade ago.
"We lament the speed of our society and the lack of depth and the nature of disposable information" ---David Ogden Stiers
Jumba from Lilo & Stitch is the role I loved the most. R.I.P David, you'll be missed
That you for honoring his memory by making this video. He was such a treasure.
You should do one with his acting roles. I can imagine that his role in M*A*S*H being number 1.
I definitely agree with that! Winchester was so funny when he wanted to be.
Yes! He was amazing when he was Charles Winchester the Third
@@beatlequeen06 And sneaky when he wanted to be. But what happened to Charles in the series finale was just heartbreaking, and he made you feel his pain.
I feel all his Disney roles, encompass all of his experience working on MASH. From the cocky and right to the silent and vulnerable.
I also liked his portrayal of Mel Price from The Mary Tyler Moore Show in 1976. That role led him to the MASH cast the next year.
R.I.P.
David Ogden Stiers
one of my favorite Disney voice actors. He will be missed. R.I.P.
I wasn't aware Stiers did The Hunchback of Notre Dame! Yes, it deserved to make your top 5!
RIP Ogden. You will be missed. Thank you for the childhood memories.
RIP David. Thanks for all the voice actings and may God rest your soul.
Forever be in peace, David Ogden Stiers. You will never be forgotten for us Disney fans.
RIP to a Disney legend
I am so glad that my favorite Disney villain and his henchman made it on the list.
Goodbye Cogsworth. :(
And Ratcliffe, Wiggins, etc.
Rest In Peace David Ogden Stiers.
R.I.P., David. 😔
Rest in peace David ogden stiers you wil be remember forever
He helped make my childhood memorable. I loved Lilo and Stitch growing up as well as Beauty and the Beast
Not surprised Cogsworth and the opening Narrator of Beauty and the Beast made the #1 spot.
Stiers also provided the narration for the opening of the Broadway version of Beauty and the Beast, creating a sense of legacy. Mr. Harcourt is always the role I forget of the work he did for Disney, and that's from one of my favorite movies from them too.
P.S. I wouldn't call Wiggins dimwitted so much as sycophantic, as he hits dead on with why the "savages" would be mad at the Virginia company on the first try. My favorite joke with Radcliffe and Wiggins was the line "And he came so highly recommended." as both of them deliver it at the bracket ends of their time in the "New World".
AnaxErik4ever they also use his narration for the Beauty and the Beast show at Hollywood Studios in WDW
My favorite has to be Jumba from lilo and stitch
We'll, hot damn. I didn't know he died or the fact that he voiced someone other than Cogsworth!
May you rest in peace David Ogden Stiers
"To be an effective voice actor, you've got to have the range."
And he did.
My favorite characters of his is Jumba and Cogsworth
"I want to do something for her... *BUT WHAT!?* "
"Weeeeeell there's the usual: Flowers, chocolates...promises you don't intend to keep..."
LOL!! Oh I love Disney... :D
RIP Mr. Stiers. You made my childhood awesome.
Jumba is my favourite character that he played! I always laugh at the house battle scene in Lilo and Stitch (1st movie)
I’m currently watching him in MASH and only now I’m learning that I grew up hearing his voice!
Rest In Peace David Ogden Stiers!! I miss you dear friend
Wiggins and Ratcliffe were both voiced by him? That really surprised me ^.^"
So... was it Cogsworth who narrated Beauty and the Beast or...
Chicken Pie actually he did both cogsworth and the narrator
He's literally in my favorite Disney films. RIP David Ogden Stiers.
RIP David Ogden Stiers. You will be missed.
Wiggins is the best! So sad he's usually overlooked and under appreciated.
Darling- December and wasn't even in the sequel
THIS. COMMENT.
I love your comment yay:3
I remember discovering that he did both Radcliffe and Wiggins and about lost my mind...I wondered at the time how that was possible! Now that I’ve studied voice acting at even a small basic level, now I get it! Still is mightily impressive!
Well, he did come so highly recommended, so...
May he r.i.p. so many loveable characters he played .
Rip David Ogden stier 1942-2018
rest in peace my beloved jumba
I got really emotional when I heard he had passed and realized he was Dr. Jumba... For reasons I can't freely give out because people won't easily believe them, I'm crying over it again now. But I can say this: I am a MASSIVE Lilo & Stitch fan and I always have been ever since the first movie was still in production at Disney.
He's with Tony Jay, John Mahoney, Florence Stanley, Jerry Orbach, Ken Sansom, Jim Varney, Don Knotts, Adam West, Kenneth Mars, Rex Everhart, Buddy Hackett, Don Rickles, Paul Newman, James Garner, Nigel Hawthorne, June Foray, Miguel Ferrer, Elizabeth Peña, George Carlin and many other Disney actors who've passed all those years.
Cameron McEwen R. I. P. to all of the voice actors
Gene Purdy, Archdeacon, Radcliffe,... So many roles on his record, great actor!
I knew he was Jumba and Cogsworth, but I never knew about the other roles. He's a Disney voice that will be missed
I don't know that he's died. Rest in peace.
Ágnes Gyöngy I didn’t know either....man, that’s so sad; we lost another great actor. :(
R.I.P.
Ágnes Gyöngy I didn't either
The short answer is cancer, rhyme not intended. Out of respect for him, I won't mention what kind of cancer
Omeri Fgan Why should it be a disrespect?
LucienSabre Look at Wikipedia the kind of cancer he had. It would be disrespectful to say the word that ddgines it on an online comments section
I loved him both as my favorite actor and friend. I miss him
I’m so shocked that when David Ogden Stiers passed away, barely anyone talked about him online! He not only did voice overs for Disney movies, but he was on TV shows like MASH.
I liked David when he was in MASH but fell in love after finding out this man helped made my childhood great and took ages to realize he’s also in frasier another show I love. I appreciate this man so much R.I.P
if I could choose anyone to narrate my life it would be David Ogden Stiers, such a great voice may he Rest In Peace
I knew him best as Winchester. I knew he did voice stuff but I was never more shocked at someone’s normal speaking voice than his!!
#5- I haven’t seen the movie, so I can’t say much about his character in it. But judging by the clips, he sounds great in it!
#4- Tbh, for some reason I didn’t know he played this character until I heard about his death. But again, he was great in that role.
#3- The first Disney character I ever heard him play. Like, I watched the Lilo and Stitch movie and tv show growing up. So yeah, he was a part of my childhood.
#2- Ratcliffe may not be the best Disney Villain (in fact, far from it), but David’s performance made him enjoyable. Also, Mine is one of my favorite Disney Villain songs. And I never would’ve guessed he also played Wiggins 😂
#1- Tbh, he was one of those characters that I didn’t like at first but then grew on me as the movie went on. I just thought he was too much of a stick in the mud at first, but then he became more charming and kind hearted. But David’s performance as him was great all throughout, and he was also really funny. I love Cogsworth ❤️! He’s one of my favorite Disney characters, and David did a great job voicing him!
RIP Mr Stiers. You brought us really great and memorable characters 😔❤️.
Clara Caballero Ratcliffe is a much better villain in Pocahontas 2, shame that’s underrated like the first movie
I'll always remember him as Cogsworth and Jumba. Now Cogsworth is reunited with his friend, Lumiere. Both of them were also in Murder, She Wrote (as well as Mrs. Potts), and both died of forms of cancer. R.I.P.
I never knew he did Disney voices! What an awesome job! ♥️ I did hear he could sing! Amazing...2 characters the villain & the brunt of the joke! Wow! Wonderfully done! The Governor & Wiggins! Ten a narrator & the Cogsworth! Loved his narrator voice!
Cogsworth is finally reunited with Lumiere again. RIP
He also Wil be the voice of Fenton q Harcourt in several video games this Wil be his second role as an Atlantis character his first Was mole
A legend in his own right, he will always be my favorite thoracic surgeon in the 4077th MASH Maj. Charles Emerson Winchester III.
Ecxept in Pocahontas 2 Journey to a new world animated storybook game where since Wiggins is absent in the sequel Corey Burton only voiced both John Smith and Governor Ratcliffe in that game the same can be said with Jim Cummings where for the same reasons as Wiggins kekata chief powhatan s assistant is absent in the sequel most likely because he could have passed away before the sequel and Cummings only voiced both chief powhatan and king James lll
is wiggins dead
He was a brilliant in all his works but his role as Major Charles Emerson Winchester the third really tops them all! RIP David Odgen Stiers.
OMG! I'm so glad they included the Archdeacon in "HOND." I hope they do the character justice when it comes to the live-action remake.
These are actually some of my favorite Disney films
I love him. He was amazing in mash and in Disney he has a loveable face and beautiful personality
I also loved his work as Kamaji in the English-language version of Studio Ghibli's "Spirited Away," released in the U.S. by Disney.
Rest In Peace David
One of his most underrated roles was the voice of VLAD, the computer on the 101 Dalmatians: The Series episode, “Out to Launch”. I think that deserves an honorable mention.
So soon after the new year began, and we're already losing some of the most beloved people
R.I.P. David Ogden Stiers (1942-2018) The Voice Of The Archdeacon From Disney's The Hunchback Of Notre Dame Now In Heaven With Judge Frollo R.I.P. Tony Jay (1933-2006)
Can we get a best of David Ogden Stiers live roles?
Yes, you have to go back to 1991 for "B&B" BUT the following year Disney dubbed a Japanese cartoon into English: "Porco Rosso", the story of a World War 1 flying ace with the face of a pig. Stiers voiced the Milanese mechanic Grandpa Piccolo, who rebuilt and upgraded Porco's shot-up plane. Ten years later, Stiers was once again doing a Ghibli/Disney dub voice, this time the movie was the Oscar-winning "Spirited Away", and Stiers was the spider-armed boiler attendant Kamaji. In between (1999) he was narrator for another Ghibli film, "My Neighbors the Yamadas". One or all of them could have rated an Honorable Mention.
Cogsworth is my favorite role he was in! I'll miss him! Rip
RIP David. May God rest your soul.
i didn't know he was the narrator in Beauty and the Beast but i knew that he voiced Cogsworth
RIP
I've been binge watching M*A*S*H (again) just a few weeks ago...
I didn't realize he died until now.
just been doing a marathon of Disney films. Wiggums is a reference to Sleeping Beauty. A drunken lute player, he added so much to the character, without drinking from a lute.
There's also a clip of him working with Chris Sanders on Lilo and Stitch.
He narrated Ric Burns NEW YORK: A HISTORY. A great documentary !
Disney. Legend of Disney and rest and peace David
David Ogden Stiers voice of the Archdecon from Disney's The Hunchback Of Notre Dame David Ogden Stiers did had fun working with Tony Jay as Judge Frollo from Disney's The Hunchback Of Notre Dame great disney film about the music and disney animation
So cool i love it 💕💕 amazing voice
He was best known to me as jumba, my fav character he did
Grew up knowing him best as Charles Winchester, but never actually knew he did so much with Disney
I can't belive that he voiced so many Disney characters.
I did not know he did voices for disney characters!! Very cool!!
Being the “Man Of God” in hunchback, at least he has gone home :). RIP David, the great Archdeacon who saved Quasi’s life and, gave Esmeralda Asylum
A tremendous talent on a screen and stage his voice could take a fairy tale character from the page and give it life
god speed Sir .Stiers =(
Also the beloved Charles E Winchester in my favorite show, M*A*S*H.
He was so handsome and talented
Fantastic actor and an amazing voice actor but you should see the role he did in Star Trek the Next Generation it was incredibly good
What an amazing man. My personal favorite; as Charles Emerson Winchester the third in M*A*S*H, but secondly as Codworth and then all the rest. One of my favorite actors. What a voice.....RIP
I remember after I started watching MASH then realized DOS did Disney movies. I was surprised, as was my sister. One of her favorite movies as a kid was Beauty and the Beast. I found out from this video that he did two voices in Pocahontas. I knew about Radcliffe but not the other guy. He was truly talented. R.I.P.
Very good list I like it a lot he is one of the best ever
My childhood! 😭😭😭
Rip David Ogden Steirs.
Your awesome and i have the bell on
and he came so highly recommended!
