Welcome to the Black River Gorges National Park, located in the South West Savanna region of the island of Mauritius. The best part of the park is the surreal view of this green island from the Gorges Viewpoint. The path leading to the lookout leads past souvenir stands and very cheerful locals. The Black River Gorges National Park is Mauritius' largest protected rainforest. Black River Gorges National Park has many hills, deep valleys, spectacular waterfalls and unparalleled beauty of flora and fauna. The Gorges lookout offers a wonderful panoramic view of the endless landscape.
The viewing area from the gorge is stunningly high, and a breathtaking waterfall can be seen on the right side of the lookout.
