Manila Luzon is here to conquer and spread the word. I was really inspired by this dress. The message behind it was so meaningful and the execution was outstanding. As humans, we are often embarrassed by the most ridiculous things. Periods are not something to be embarrassed about, for they are normal and okay. I really wanted manilla to wear that dress on the show. I hate how people act like periods are such a big deal or gross. It's normal. Every woman has them and we should be free to talk about it.
sheeppusher , it’s kind of like wearing a peice of crap and saying “oh it’s beautiful and we should talk freely about it, though o do agree that talking about this subject is important but some people are more sensitive on the subject.
IKR!! Im always amused how many women feel humiliated when talking about the subject, I talk about my period so freely at home because I had issues in my ovaries and my big brother was always so supportive with my treatment, and because my brother sees the menstruation as something normal and dangerous for a woman if isn't openly talked he's being a great boyfriend supporting his girlfriend whenever she feels bad or embarrassed about the subject. Menstruation is important to be normalized because it can save a woman's life because it can give a woman hints about cancer or other illnesses in the uterus.
Well, I agree that woman shouldn't be disgusted with them selves or ashamed of this as a normal bodily function, but I also don't think that it is something that you can bring up with just anyone.
it's important to tell the little boys. this is how i explained the menstruation to my 6 years old son : it's blood kept in the womb to prepare a comfy nest if a baby was to grow there. and when there's no baby, the blood is useless so it comes out. the end. he only thing he worried about was "how do you manage to replace all the blood you lose??" seems he thought it was a life threatening loss :D
i hope that when he grows up he'll never shame a girl for that.

On my period and watching a maxi pad dress being recreated on a doll. Perfect :) haha I liked Manila's dress and I wish she could have worn it. Periods are natural and healthy but when I was a kid I was so embarrassed. So much so I literally bled through my pants because I was so ashamed to ask the nurse for a pad. I walked around all day with a shirt around my waste in the 7th grade because of that shame. It sucked! Don't be embarrassed about what your body does naturally, it's normal! :)

I doubt it. If people got offended by her prosthetic nose, they would have not like this dress too. People know she's a drag queen, they're men playing caricature of women. Manila is still a man, and she wouldn't had the chance to thoroughly explain it on the show and it's for the runway about having padding inspired look, not about empowering/normalizing women periods. It would have definitely come as offensive to many especially with her brand as a campy queen. People were just mad only cause she shared the productions hates it, that's reverse psychology.
It's really weird they didn't let manila wear the padded for the gods look, but let trinity wear her really weird naked old lady look.

It's 100% on theme, it's exactly her style, it's a bit shocking but she still managed to make the dress as such look tasteful and not overly gross. Combine that with the whole idea described in Manila's post and I think it's a very well-thought-out and meaningful dress.

I’m still proud of naomi for having the nerve to make that decision - even Manila knew it was a smart move considering naomi hadn’t won any challenges and manila was a clear front runner (ahead of trinity), and that manila would have no problem eliminating naomi. While it’s sad that she made the decision to eliminate her, i still love them both equally and people need to stop being so hateful. It’s a competition lol, i’d do the same if $100,000 was on the line 🤷♂️
