I am so grateful for this topic you covered. I am a new grad, retaking my NBCOT exam for the second time tomorrow, and just feeling a bit lost lately as I haven't figured out the setting I want to eventually go into..In addition I have social anxiety and am easily over stimulated and drained when around people, yet I do desire to help others and value this profession. I guess you can say I've had my share of doubts pursuing this profession. However, this video was like a warm hug, and I am feeling more comfortable knowing there are settings that are more suitable for those of us who are a bit more sensitive to the environment around us. Thank you so much OT Dude!

Don't give up. I failed my first two and barely passed the second. Years later and I have a successful and rewarding OT career. Turns out I'm just really bad at certain test taking formats.

Thank you for this! I'm an OT student, 1 year out from graduating and getting nervous about how much social interaction I'm getting into. Very much appreciate this.

Thank you for addressing this. I am a first year (BSc) student. I am an introvert, an find OT somewhat vague and flowery. Like you said I will finish my course and see if I can work in more clinical solid science based setting like stroke/neuro.

Great video. I’m interested in going back to school and becoming an OT. I have volunteered for a couple months and enjoyed the one on one interactions with patients. I have a bachelors degree in supply chain management but I have no passion in this field. Do you recommend me going back to school this late? Just turned 37 so I do feel a little discouraged. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Do it Christian!! It's never too late to start the journey. I have just returned to study as an OT at the tender age of 53. There are approximately 50 students in my class, with the average age being 45. One lady said she'll be 61 by the time she finishes her degree.
