Always a class guy and is getting me through my stage 3 neck cancer . Just finished 36 rounds of radiation and 8 rounds of chemo. Read the book a couple of times! Thanks, Enzo! And to chicklets

I am a heart transplant recipient. After my heart transplant I play ice hockey. I am 40 years old and I am 3 years out from transplant. I can relate to Eddie's story of struggle. Glad he did not give up! You never, ever quit. Would love to meet him.

I played against Eddie in midget hockey and everyone knew then he'd probably be skipping college and Major junior A and going straight to the league, but for as good as he was, he never had the big ego like some players who know they're a shoe-in at an early age. His parents must've raised him right. Class act.
I played against him when we were 10.He was on the Minor Hawks ;I was on the Chicago Jesters.And maybe in high school in the Catholic league.

I watched Eddie O play jr B in Stratford ON..When he touched the puck.the fans were on their feet because it was usually an end to end rush ending in a highlight reel goal.. Nobody could touch him, you knew then he was going to have a great NHL career. The rest is history.
He was great in Stratford but I thought Nelson Emerson was more exciting.

Born in Chicago and lifelong Blackhawks fan. Saw my first game in 1971 as a six year old. Makita, Hull, Espo were still there. Played some youth hockey, beer league etc...
Edzo may have saved my life. His battle motivated me to get a colonoscopy. They found very early stage of cancer. I'm currently receiving treatment and the outlook is positive. Eddie was a gamer. On his last shift as a Blackhawk at the end of his career, he blocked a shot and had to crawl back to the bench.
I just met him this winter... Awesome Guy!!

Lost my grandpa from colon cancer a few years ago. Eddie's battle hit close to home. Colon cancer is an ugly, ugly cancer. I am very happy for Eddie O and his family that he (and his family) we able to come out of it.

Went to Olczyks hockey camp back the year he got inducted into the hall of fame. Was the most down to earth coach I've had at a hockey camp, but also managed to be the toughest camp coach I've ever had.

Eddie's such a genuine guy. I remember sharing a hotel ride up with him. I noticed him and said hello and we had a conversation. By the time we got to our floor he had given me all his money

My favorite broadcaster
I had flu-like symptoms and was constipated. Walked into the hospital and was basically instantly diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of ten. I was relapsed three times and never really had a coming of age like most teens. Fucked me up a bit but I'm in uni now doing Poli Sci.
Eddie is my favorite human in the hockey world.
Love Eddie . I remember as a kid having him and Leaman sign an actual cheque of mine at an autograph session at the Shopper's Drug Mart at Bayview and Sheppard. Great Leaf.

@KingMastodon I understand completely. But it's hard to focus when all you can is feet peaking through, specially when the guy they're interviewing is in a full suit & tie. I've seen him in interviews with his legs on the the table. But I guess that's what makes him who he is. :)
Eddie O is a class act. I'm so happy he's doing better after that cancer scare. It's a dream but I wish he would coach the Hawks or be the GM something higher in the organization I think he would help tremendously because he knows what the Hawks need. Just my opinion
