Bharat ji addresses the audience in Chitrakoot and begins with criticism of Kaikeyi ji. When Lord Ram starts his address,he could have started with praise of Kaikeyi ji but he starts with the praise of Bharat ji. All the citizens of ayodhya are overwhelmed with it. Lord Ram says later ,that if Kaikeyi was not there, how could a son like Bharat be born? Hence, Kaikeyi is worshippable. Bharat ji's eyes were filled with tears on listening this. Lord Ram asked Bharat ji that his emotions indicated that he agreed with Lord Ram .Bharat ji said that if he would measure Lord Ram's words on the parameter of truth, then he would not stand correct but if he measured them on the parameter of "sheel" or humbleness ,they will stand absolute.

Once Goswami Tulsidasji met Surdas ji in vrindavan. Satsang was in flow and suddenly a mad elephant came running. All the devotees started running and shouted ,"mad elephant is nearing ",and now Surdas ji also started running. Seeing this Tulsidas ji said ,"why are you running? Will God not protect us? At least you should sit down." Surdas ji replied beautifully, he said ," the balgopal(child krishna) dwelling in my heart cannot protect himself then how can he help me? It is a different matter altogether that your Lord bears bow and arrow and he can protect you!" It is said that the next moment only ,an arrow hit the elephant and he fell dead. But it is not an indication of cowardice of Surdas ji. It simply means that he established the relationship with Lord as balgopal and truly stood by and carried on that relation. Many people commit this mistake that they accept Him as a child and then expect for shield and protection. You should not commit this mistake in worshipping. It is not possible that you worship God as balak ram(child rama) and then ask him to do your work. You should always give the child and not ask anything from him, if you are worshipping him in his child form. We should join the same emotional mantra with the Lord in which form we wish to attain him.

Gahahi na paap punuu gunn doshu"

Wonderful account. It reminds me of two stories narrated by Swami Ramsukhdasji of Gita press.
There was a Mahatma, who used to worship Laddugopala in a temple with great devotion. Any time there would be noise in the night, Laddugopala who was in the temple, will get scared and cry calling Baba, baba to him. Sadhu, who used to sleep in verandah outside will enter into the temple, and pacify Laddugopala.
One day, Sadhu was tired or may be some Leela of Bhagavaan. On that day, when the Laddugopal cried calling him Baba-Baba, as a cat was calling out repeatedly. Sadhu did not enter into the temple and asked, why are you crying. Laddugopala said, cat is calling, I am scared cat will eat me.
Sadhu, was feeling sleepy, he said from the verandah-'You are Narasimha! And here you are scared of a mere cat. From that moment onward, Laddugopala stopped crying and calling for Baba. Baba was very sad and in tears, but Laddugopala did not call at all. He asked another Mahatma, if Bhagvaan is angry with him, why he is not calling him any more. Mahatma responded -He is not angry with you, but in the form of Narasimha he can not talk to you, because if you hear Narasmha's words, you will die of terror.

    DELUSION (MOH) Part 1-
Lord Rama is seated on Subel mountain and he looks at two directions- East and South. Ravan is sitting in the South and moon has arisen in the east. Rama questions about Ravana and the moon. Rama says to vibhishan that,"look in the south, how dense clouds , bolt of lightning , the rains and the thunder of clouds is there !" Rama's language was very indicative. Vibhishan is "Jeev" ,Ravan is Delusion personified and Moon is mind(mann).
On one hand ravana is the root cause of all problems who has stolen Sita ji; delusion of our conscience has stolen our power. It is important to understand the nature of Delusion(moh). Vibhishan who is jeev thought that Lord Rama has misunderstood things.
In fact Lord Rama is "akhand gyan",the knowledge which is never in parts,it is complete and only a jeev's knowledge sometimes suffers from confusion and on other times it attains clarity. Rama acted as such that vibhishan thought that he should clarify rama's misconception. Had vibhishan pondered deeply on the sentences of Rama he would have understood that actually delusion has been explained in them because each single word was pointing towards it.
We have a belief that when a person is about to die he is lied down with his legs in South direction. In puranas the deity of south is Yama, kaal(death). "Look towards south which is the direction of death,yama-ravan is sitting there", the direction of delusion (moh) is the dielrection of death. Physically death happens by Kaal(time) but Rama indicates towards death by delusion in a man's conscience.
    Rama says-
    "Dekhu bibhishan dachin aasa
    Ghan ghamand damini bilasa"
Rama wants to tell that most people do not recognise ravana inspite of looking at him. "Ghamand" is used when there are dense clouds and it also means Pride/ego. Rama deliberately used the word because where there is delusion, pride is bound to come.
Vibhishan said that which you are mistaking for black dense clouds is the black canopy(chhatr)/hood over Ravana's head.
What is this "chhatr" or canopy? It is infact Pride which has been called "ghamand" here. Ravan is personified delusion , on whose head pride is present like a canopy. Pride and arrogance is on top of the head.Ravana who is 'moh'/ Delusion is sitting under the shade of pride.
"Daamini bilasa" , signifies the shine or flash of lightning. 'Vilaas' means shine and the tendency of indulgence in pleasures(bhog vilas) is also called 'vilaas'. Where there are objects of pleasure, exists Pride and where there is pride, there is tendency of indulgence just like the flash of lightning. That shining flash of lightning is very intense but we do not feel happy that so much of light is there instead we close our eyes and ears that now there will be loud booming burst of sound and grumbling growling noises too. The materialistic indulgence is just like the lightning-it flashes and it vanishes. When will Delusion propelled lightning or indulgence will surface out ..there is no gurantee! Delusion (moh) prevents us seeing and listening. Every single word has been selectively used by Tulsidas ji. It seems that Ravan is the king of golden Lanka, so many beautiful women are surrounding him,so many objects of pleasure are there for him but when looked deeply all of it is like flash of lightning which when present causes a hindrance (in hearing and seeing) and also brings distress when gone.

    DELUSION(MOH) Part 2......
Rama says further "vibhishan the thundering clouds are making terribly sweet sounds-
    "Madhur madhur garjai ghan ghora"
In hindi language "madhur"(sweet) and "ghor" (severe or terrible) are opposites. 'Ghor' or terrible is used when there is ear- piercing loud sound and 'madhur' is used when the sound feels lovely to the ears. In literary sense they are contradictory words. For example, people say God showed awfully great grace(bhayankar kripa). The bengalis say awfully beautiful(bhayankar sundar). Now beautiful is never awful and terrible noise is never sweet or lovely. What does it mean? Rama is taunting that it sounds sweet or seems beautiful to the onlooker but people have been killed and the sound made is sweet but the end result is not good as hailstorm is destroying the cultivation.
A person should cultivate good pious thoughts but "delusion ",which is like the cloud sitting in form of Ravana where lightning is flashing momentarily will eventually destroy the cultivation-
    "Hoi vrishti jani upal kathora"
Vibhishan did not listen Rama attentively and that is why he said-
    "Kahat bibhishan sunahu kripala..
Hoi na tadit na barid mala..."
If it is not lightning or clouds then what is it? You should clear my confusion ....
    Vibhishan said further-
    "Lanka sikhar upar aagara
    Tanh daskandhar dekh akhara
    Chhatr meghdambar sir dhari
    Soi janu jalad ghata atikari
    Mandodari shravan tatanka
    Soi prabhu janu damini damanka..."
He said to Rama that what seems cloud to you is the canopy(chhatr), lightning is actually the diamond earpiece of queen mandodari which is shaking and the sweet thundering of clouds is the sound of dance and musical instruments like 'tabla' and others as women are dancing before him.
This is not Ravana's sketch alone but it is our sketch too. We look for Ravana outside and burn his statue every year but how will he die? When we burn him outside he hides inside(us). Where are we all sitting? We are sitting in the direction of death only and are engrossed in dance and music. Everyone likes dance and music but what is its nature? How is music inspiring us? Through ears, what is entering inside, matters . If through music glories of the Lord are sung then utilisation of music can not be better than this but in Ravan's courtroom what is being sung?-
    "Baith jai tehi mandir ravan
    Laage kinnar gun gan gavan.."
Ravan is happy that these people are singing my praises. We too are always eager to hear the songs of our praises and not of the Lord. If we are like him then we are sitting in the southern direction of god of death and what is the dance? Every one wants that the others should dance to his tunes..what an irony!
If asked the truth then everyone is dancing and the choreographer is either 'Kaam'(desire) or "Raam"-
"Ko jag kaam nachav na jehi"
    And for Raam-
    "Nat markat iv sabahi nachawat
    Ramu khages ved as gawat.."
Surdas ji said in his verse that whatever actions, jeew(we) is performing on the signal of lust or desire is actually the dance . It is very strange that he is laughing when he sees others dancing but does not ponder that he himself has been dancing. Surdas ji said to the Lord to show his mercy now. Lord asked ,"why? Do not you like to dance?" Surdas ji replied that," i will like to dance when you make me dance by your grace. We will be happy when we will feel that we are dancing in your courtroom on your signals." When our life starts moving on signals of the Lord then only it will be meaningful. Whose beats are falling? What is the skill of dance? If there is harmony or synchronisation in the rhythm or beats and legs' movement then the dance is correct but if it is not then it will be off-key and discordant(besura). If god starts to tune our life and we start performing as we start understanding his signals, start lifting our legs and walk then this is dancing to god's signals. Vibhishan said ravana is watching the dance and listening to music which made Rama laugh that the same is the condition of Jeew. Most of the people are sitting in the lap of death in the direction of death and are dancing on the tune and signal of Kaam(desire).

    DELUSION (MOH) Part 3...
    "Prabhu muskan samujhi abhimana
    Chaap chadhai baan sandhana.."
Rama smiled and shot an arrow ; ravana's crown fell down, the canopy also got cut and fell and the earpiece of mandodari also cut off. Rama wanted to alarm ravana by this arrow.
Lanka which symbolises indulgence in pleasures, ravana is sitting on the golden peak denoting greed and is dancing to the tunes of Kaam(desire). The arrow is Kaal(death). Why did ravana arrange for dance and music?
He wanted to show that he was not scared of Rama's arrival with monkey soldiers for war and it was not of any importance for him. Man sometimes befools himself, forgets the truth of time/death and God and is busy and lost in objects of pleasure. He also tries to show others that he is not worried at all. Tulsidas ji wrote-
"Sunasir sat saris so santat karai bilas..
Param prabal ripu sees par tadyapi soch na traas.."
Strange it is, that no one saw Rama's arrow coming but it did cut off ravana's crown, canopy and mandodari's earpiece.
The arrow of God is in infact "KAAL". We are busy enjoying materialistic pleasures, dancing to the tune of Kama, are rejoicing on listening to our praises..at that very moment(beware) KAAL'S ARROW comes whose arrival none has seen. In our lives when kaal's arrow will come; when ,at which moment will it fire,it will not be visible to anyone. Lord wants to alarm, signal the jeew to eradicate,to remove his delusion. Lord did not cut his head-
"Chhatr mukut tatank tab hatey ekahi baan..
Sabke dekhat mahi parey maramu na kou jaan..."
Chhatr-mukut(canopy-crown) means wealth, power, prestige will go away at any time. Rama also indicated that the head could have been cut too so if you want to save your head then be alert now. It was Kaal's sound and mandodari's earpiece's cutting indicated as if lord was giving a message in her ears that she should make him understand the truth.
Delusion does not mean ignorance/agyan. Infact delusion(moh) means inspite of knowing one behaves like an ignorant(anjaan ki tarah). When these three things fell all the people present there shuddered/shivered due to fear. We too shudder once in fear ,when we see someone's power, prestige, wealth going away. When ravana saw that everyone is scared he said smilingly that these are not bad signs(apshakun) for him instead they are like good omens(shakun) . He said that cutting off of head is a bad omen but when i offered my heads to Shankara ,he granted me boon so if this crown and canopy has fallen then it means i am going to win this war. What a befooling/deceiving explanation it is ! Others will keep going, dying but we will stay as such-
    "Laghu jeewan sambatu panch dasa
    Kalpant na naas gumanu asa"
Mandodari understood that he is master in deluding/deceiving(dhokha dena)himself and others. One who deludes others first deceives himself(jo dusro ko dhokha deta hai wo apne ko pehle dhokha deta hai).
Later on when mandodari tried to tell him that rama is god , he said that you cannot take my name directly so you are praising my Giant(virat) form and calling me by the name Raam. Mandodari in the form of our intellect tries to warn us,tries to make us understand but we do not take it in the right sense. When ravana made this wrong interpretation, she concluded that when death is near then one is illusioned thus. Rama pointed ," look to the south and know the nature of indulgence(bhog ka swaroop) and know how momentarily it dazzles/shines and how delusion does not disappear inspite of efforts; how delusion does not shun/get rid off its tendency even after being warned/alarmed.
