  • A brief bit of footage from a home video I did in 1995 while trying out a new video camera. Sorry about the quality but it was copied from a 22 year old video cassette

    I'm living in Sandwich for a few months, love this little town. Amazing to see an old video like is.

    This was probably just before the big Pfizer expansion. That really changed the business flow in Sandwich from then.
    The actual town centre looks pretty much as it does now - apart from the fact that you can see the old "Whites" shop - which is now a "Starbucks". I can't remember if the big supermarket behind the Red Cow was being built around that time. Oh - the old butcher's shop is there(with the stripey red and white outside) - that's a carpet shop now(I think). The pharmacy has moved from No Name Street opposite Spar; in its place, there's that French shop which sells French produce.
    Interesting piece of history of the town.

    Apart from Chemist, Manders Wymans and Lloyds..it looks just the same!

      All this realy shows is how years behind sandwich actualy is 😂
      At 1.79 there is a man walking past nation wide in a long cream coloured trench coat ..
      He is still seem today .. it's never changed 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
