- In this video, we will understand what is Subject Verb Agreement :
Subject Verb Agreement says In any sentence, Singular Subject must have a Singular Verb and Plural Subject must have Plural Verb.
Then, we introduced ten new rules of cases of subject-verb agreement.
Which are,
Rule 1.: In case of Collective Noun in the sentence,
we use a singular verb when the members of the group are acting together as a single unit.
and a plural verb when the members of the group are acting separately and not as a single unit.
Rule 2.: If a gerund or an infinitive comes as a subject, the verb will always be singular.
Rule 3.: Error of Proximity, Here, the verb is made to agree in number with a noun associated with it
instead of with its proper subject.
Rule 4.: When the prepositional phrases separate the subjects from the verbs, they do not affect the verbs.
Rule 5.: In sentences beginning with here or there, the singular verb is used when the singular subject is there in the sentence
and a plural verb is used when the plural subject is there in the sentence.
Rule 6.: Use a singular verb with distances, periods of time, sums of money, etc., when considered as a unit.
Rule 7.: When 'None' is used with a prepositional phrase starting with of, the subject can be both plural and singular.
Rule 8.: Two nouns qualified by each or every, even though connected by and, require a singular verb;
Rule 9.: Remember two cases in case of words Most/Most of/ All/ All of/ A lot of/ Some of/ in a sentence,
If Countable Noun is used than Plural verb will come.
If Uncountable Noun is used than Singular Verb will come.
Rule 10.:Words with suffix body/thing/one will carry singular verb.

Sir ,in 1st Rule ,
Here The couple Is Singular in form &Plural in meaning ,So it requires Plural verb, 🙄 the why did you consider The couple as A collective Noun
Sorry if there is anything mistake in my comment 🙏🏻
"********** is driving across country" this portion says that they are not acting separately. so we can use singular form.
Here both singular and plural are correct...it depends on the situation...it isn't clear whether they are going together or not....so both are correct

It's already there my brother 🎉
the couple are going out this week .why are is used here ?
according to rule 1 it is incorrect but it is in your video part 2
so please explain this
Couple (collective noun):
If the collective noun refers to the group as a unit, then it takes a singular verb. If it refers to the individuals in the group or the parts that make up the group, then the verb should be plural. In British English, it is more common for collective nouns to function as "plurals" in all instances.
The couple are to get married. ( referring individuals in the group of two)
The couple has two kids. ( couple as a single unit)
The couple is used as a single unit here that's why
ap causative sentences pe bhi video bnadain ya mjhe sikhadain jo fees ap ki ho bta bhi dain plz

Which application do you use to do these animations???
according to rule 1, the couple is going out this week. But you said "are" here in rule 7 example. Can you please clear it?
Same bro ..
In last video he said *couple* is a singular word but means plural . So,a plural verb will be used.
But in this video he said couple here is a collective noun so a singular verb will be used.
But how to diffrentiate it????
Couple as one entity is singular, whereas couple as individuals are plural.
Friend he said that if couple is doing same thing things without any individual so when 'is' will be used.
The couple are going out this week-2nd part in this example the collective noun couple is doing same tasks while in the other example 3rd part-The couple eats out once in a month here They are doing the same tasks as the 2nd example but the plural is turned into singular

The word "Furniture" is singular or plural? Please clear my doubt.
Singular
Singular and plural is same
Singular
It's PLURAL as well as SINGULAR
E.g.
1) Is there any furniture available here ?
2) There are many furniture to buy
Singular
Respect your hard work behind this

sir how is eats a singular verrb it sounds to be plural in nature
No eats is ofc singular
Sir u r very funny... 🤣🤣😂😂
2:03 you said e have to use singular verb ad written plural verb
Want a rule bhai what a rule
Ex:the couple are/is going out in this week
Ans. (Are ) due to they r not separate in sentance if they r separate then we should use (is) . the word couple consists of prural .
Hence proved
Very nice
Omg 😲 tomorrow is my exam this topic is 🤯🤯🤯
I have a doubt,
In your 6 rule video - Ex: the couple are going out this week ( *are* - plural) { singular form but plural meaning so plural verb}
In this video - Ex: The couple eats out once a month (*eats* - singular) {collective nouns}
So which is the correct answer?
For these questions how should we write?
😅
When referring to a couple, you should use "couple is" if you are considering them as a single unit. For example, "The couple is going on a vacation." However, if you want to emphasize the two individuals in the pair, you can use "couple are." For instance, "The couple are celebrating their anniversary separately this year."
In your previous video you illustrated the couple are going to cinema but now in this video you are saying the couple eats. Which is correct?
Thank you so much for such great explanation, you explain better then my teacher 😊❤

Hi, sir I have a doubt...
In the last video u just told that couple is a singular word but as two are included in it we use are there (the couple are going out this week) but sir, now u say that we have to use singular verb here,( The couple eats out once a month) the reason u say is that both do the same thing. In the before sentence also the couple does the same thing right sir even then why didn't we use a singular verb there? Can u please make it clear sir?
