4 Ways to Make Black Buttercream

Let me share with you 4 different ways of making black buttercream!
1. Gel Method: Add a good amount of black gel to white buttercream and mix it up. If you let it sit for a few hours the color will develop even further and get darker as the grains of pigment bloom.
2. Blooming Method: You can speed up the process by quickly blooming your gel with heat. Mix a little bit of buttercream with few drops of black gel and pop that in the microwave for just a few seconds. Let it cool for a minute and use this super concentrate to color the rest of your buttercream.
3. Halfway Method: For this you’ll need regular cocoa powder and gel. Sift some cocoa powder into buttercream to create a brown base. Now you can add a few drops of black gel. This method will require you to use much less gel and it will taste nice and chocolatey.
4. Black Cocoa Method: For this you’ll only need black cocoa powder. This requires no gel at all. Black cocoa powder is what they use to make Oreo cookies so this will taste just like that. Simply sift in the cocoa powder and mix it up till you get a nice black color.

I recommend the sugarologie method- it involves making a sugar syrup with the black cocoa and makes a super concentrated black colour

Yay thank you so much I just made a grocery pick up to try the cocoa method! Thank you so much my order is due in the afternoon tomorrow and I was going crazy because I could not find a good enough jack to turn my buttercream super black. (It’s an all bock themed cake)

Nothing worked this was not helpful used a black gel like the first one so no does not work
