#WarOfTheWorldsTheAttack #VerticalEntertainment
wow, you can instantly infer how small their budget is when you see the millisecond clip of a tripod turning with absolutely no weight animated behind it. It just turned instantly like it had no mass.
Almost like it's a technologically advanced alien species capable of shooting lasers and travelling across the universe.
@@Rn-pp9et you don't understand everyday life examples of physics all around you, do you?
Also, are you seriously trying to defend this movie?
when i saw this scene i thought the trailer was some meme, or some indian who edited the video making fun of the movie
@@asteroiderer No no, he's right tho. The idea that a fast turn would be slow or have some kind of visual feedback due to weight and momentum is based on our clearly primitive technology examples. Those tentacles and their tech can be advanced enough for it to turn like that. Hydraulics may not even exist in their concept anyway, and those tentacles can clearly hold the load, distribute it and keep that static rotation. It has nothing to do with "physics examples in real life", because, again, you have zero understanding of their tech, materials, etc, and if you simply consider "they can make such advanced and resistant vehicle capable of holding a freaking building on top of it" without breaking a sweat, then maybe it is capable of rotating it as well.
BUT, all that has nothing to do with the fact this is extremely low budget and the tripot looks like that simply because it is done by interns and their moms.
Yes but some movies who have a small budget can be decent like the Aussie movie Occupation
I'll just rewatch the tom cruise one again thanks
The worse ever version of the wotw
Ya I’ll join you
@@MaddogKernan my fav film
@Dave Kernan I honestly liked it, it isn't bad. Character development could have been better but it isn't bad....
I love that movie. It's genuinely scary. This looks kinda goofy
A story that didn't need a remake or even a retelling.
again
The Spielberg one was just as unnecessary. That one was awful and this one will be even worse
Actually, the movies emphatically need a remake. But obviously, this one isn't it - not even close.
NONE of the WotW movies have EVER brought up the genocide of the Tasmanians by the Brits that caused H.G. Wells to pen his novel. From Chapter 1:
"We men, the creatures who inhabit this earth, must be to them [the Martians] at least as alien and lowly as are the monkeys and lemurs to us. […] And before we judge of them too harshly we must remember what ruthless and utter destruction our own species has wrought, not only upon animals, such as the vanished bison and dodo, but upon its own inferior races. The Tasmanians, in spite of their human likeness, were entirely swept out of existence in a war of extermination waged by European immigrants, in the space of fifty years. Are we such apostles of mercy as to complain if the Martians warred in the same spirit?"
All the films have reduced what was meant to bring about a mortifying recognition of genocide into mere adventure (and worse, romance).
Perhaps someday a filmmaker with the guts to do it, will actually produce a WotW movie that remains faithful to the central premise of the book.
No one has ever made a decent faithful adaption of it. It still needs making for the first time. The book beats the hell out of any version ever put on screen so far.
@@wesleyweighs74kilos
If HG Wells saw the western world of current year he'd burn WotW. Seeing how empathy is being weaponised for destruction.
I'm an animator, and I feel like I can animate the tripods in this movie way better which is sad considering I'm new at it.
Spielberg's tripods had little screen time even though the film had a budget of millions, and for all that Spielberg's tripods were terrifying! This movie could be a modern classic if it has an interesting atmosphere...
that was intentional, it made their presence all the more terrifying, not knowing where one could pop up and they destroyed everything in their path. There's a 90s book series I believe called When The Tripods came by John Christopher, 3 books in total and I'm very surprised there hasn't been a movie adaptation of it because the 3 parts are terrifying.
Looks like a fan fic trailer
Straight to DVD as they say.
Well that's 99% of movies.
@@hankbraxtan8817 Or "Coming to a streaming service near you!" 🤣
Maybe better to send it to VHS. No one needs to see this. 😂
Well, I do believe this will get a theatrical release oddly.
@@swapzilla1012 Really? I don't see how, it's not a "blockbuster" movie nor a work of cinematic art so who in their right mind would take a risk on this?
How's possible to keep doing same mistakes over and over? War,chaos, destruction and they are so clean, hair always perfect...details are and will be a big part of success
one thing is for sure - when the end of the world happens, it will have perfect teeth
As well as the nonsensical banter and the complete lack of terror always gets me.
Don't forget, according to Spielberg's War of the World children under 18 can't die during an alien invasion.
The fact that they are not afraid and cracking jokes as if it was supposed to be a comedy movie makes me not want to watch it. It takes away the terror that the movie is supposed to transmit. Just by watching the trailer I can tell the first move had a much more grim feel to it.
@@YourBeingParanoid Which is especially weird considering they're clearly british
When the hell will a war of the worlds film come out based exactly on the book..
Exactly, how hard could that be?
There's plenty of period dramas, not like they're expensive to make.
Well they did the tv series which was a lot closer to the original but it was awful.
stick to the musical - best adaptation by a long mile
@@YourBeingParanoid yes
Still love the 1953 version
That was the best one, along with the Jeff Wayne's musical. This one too seems really cool tbh
yeah that was almost perfect it just doesn't actually have tripods
Slightly missed the point on this story... HG Wells Story was not about man's struggle against Alien invasion, but rather that of a man surviving such an attack, and finding out that man's war machines and ability to make wars was as nothing to the Martians, but then nature took its course, and the aliens died, thanks to mother nature. A tale of the power of nature. That is the real story, (Plus if its done right, some cool music by Jeff Wayne).
Such a shame that no one has yet made a proper WOTW movie that does justice to the original story. We need this making properly and we NEED Rendezvous with Rama doing too :)
They should make one with Tom Cruise since he does all his own stunts, he could climb one and throw grenades inside it!
@@jamieferguson935 this comment said everything I needed to. It's extremely faithful to the source material while also being unique. What more do they want? It's a great movie.
Rendezvous and Rama would be epic. Good call. Definitely need better sci-fi.
Is Rendezvous with Rama in development?
@@waynedennis2535 There are rumours that it is, but nothing certain yet.
Instead of everyone making "adaptations' , why dont they actually make...I dont know....The Actual Book???
We need a war of the worlds 2 with tom cruise and steven speilberg directing that is just as good as the first. I want the same cast round 2 lets goo
no stfu and get out you are not apart of the wotw communiry
1:23 if you look closely at slow motion the tanks shown are literally T-72s instead of Challenger 2 tanks
Hopefully they upgraded their intergalactic HEPA filter system.
“Evil cannot create anything new, they can only corrupt and ruin what good forces have invented or made.”
Covid be like "Don't worry humanity I got this".
If the Tripods make that chilling foghorn alarm sound before attacking in this one, I'm in.
And somehow the musical is still better.
because the musical combines both talent and effort
The CGI looks like it was made for a CZcams channel in 2017
Has 'Young Adult Fiction' cash-grab all over it. The Martians have super advanced tech and these teenagers & early 20s think they're going to fight them? With what - Samurai swords or a .38? Maybe a few karate kicks? We don't need more bad SyFy Channel type movies.
The 2005 version had better CGI. Why make it again if you're not going to do it _better?_
Why is it so hard to make a good War of the worlds movie?
Jeff Wayne's set in the past, the fighting machines as the illustrations, that's all it needs, set it in a period with canons in old London. It would be amazing.
They sodded it up in 2005, and there repeating there mess again.
sodded it up? Bruh that movie was AMAZING,are you really interested in a movie about aliens in old london? 💀💀
@@LaloSalamancaGaming69 That version was crap. Read the book, and then rewatch all those movies made about WoTW.. You'll see the huge differences then!
@@Wabbit_HuntaI've read the book and the listen to the audio book done by David Tennant but the tom cruise film is still good in its own right. But I'd agree that no film or series has been 100% faithful to the novel
Autistic alert
Is everyone hating on this film because of how short it is!?
If so then like dude that’s weak!
Edit: this version is definitely my favourite version!
The film is short and sweet!
exactly, too many comparisons being made to previous ones. Sad people who cannot appreciate films and just slate it just because it wasn't made back in there era , or has a different director which shows the film in a different light.
Read the book.. talk to people from where it happened. Woking is where HGW lived when he wrote the book and that's where it all happened In the book.
HGW even "killed off" a few locals he had "issues with"
Todays locals will tell you that it's a dogs dinner of a movie!
The look of sheer terror on the black guy at 0:35
My first thought was, why? Hasn't this story been told multiple times now? From the radio broadcast in 1938 to the Tom Cruise movie and British series. This story has been done so many times. Why do it again?
so it can be done so many times.
In a brave new world, with just a handful of men - they screwed this up again
The effects are clearly barely adequate. It almost looks like someone just spliced in shots from video game cutscenes.
Why.....why the characters are always so confident and swagger to mock such terrifyng enemies !?
Can't we please just have a movie were people are actually afraid of some grave danger like an hostile advanced-technlogy alien invasion ?
The only good movie about it is Captive State
Oh man do the actors look like discount pile of 2x4s at the Lowe's, level of CGI is straight out of educational games in late 90's and animation has that spastic "oh look it's twitchy so it's spoopy" thing going on. Do they intentionally make things this bad or are they just that inept?
The the tripods look like the machines from the matrix
Another bad war of the worlds adaptation for the pile
Actually looks better than it has any right to. Effects look okay for I imagine quite a limited budget and a bit more faithful to the story beats of the book than some adaptations.
ok? They are awful, even the dark cant hide it :(
I saw this trailer on a Movie Compilation trailer, and i went to this trailer just to comment how horrendous the graphics and animations are. And somehow, There is some mfckas out here unironically thinking this looks good.
Now we need a found footage retelling.
“We have abandoned god and now he’s punishing us” 😂
the main actors always wear clean costumes, clean faces etc. from start to finish
In the book; 1890s british military defeat the aliens, but now 2023 world militaries have a hard time with them? Okay...
Straight to the tripod dvd stand in poundland. 😂😂
No War of The worlds Movie Will beat or ever come close to the Book. The first thing people think of When they Think of War of the Worlds they Think Tom Cruise, when In Reality, It's about a Man surviving to the Fittest and when People Think Men In Black They Think Will Smith, but It's about a Father and Son Like built Relationship Keeping the Universe Safe from the Scum.
For most of the trailer i was trying to work out whether it was a normal movie or a spoof lol either way it's not looking very good, i think the acting was what was making me laugh the most, but sheeeesh!! unfortunate.
Oh BTW
Jeff Wayne wanted to do a Centenial concert at The Sandpits, celebrating the anniversary of the book. He got turned down. They didn't want it, the sandpits getting trampled!
It would've pulled in mega money for Woking back then. All that added tourism etc. Nope. Horsell Preservation Society said no. Couldn't use The Rhoda McGaw Theatre in town either.. too small, and the Martian would be too heavy for the stage.
Little minds in Woking. Little minds!
HG had the right idea. Wipe Woking off the map! It'll clear the £2 Billion debt they've now got!
The aliens are watching this like...😅
Sorry the original is still the best with Tom Cruise version a very close second.
Ever notice how no one in a movie knows how to use a shovel?
Use your leg strength not your arms. Use you arms and you'll be exhausted in no time. Let your legs and gravity do the work
can they make an aftermath after the martian invasion where humans studied the martian technology and make a full invasion towards mars, also will they even add venus, i somehow read a book were its not only earth and mars who exist in the solar system
one of the few end of the world scenerio's that a prepper sitting in his bunker 3 months may not have wasted his time ;P
Another pointless remake no one wants
We didn't even want the first one
I'd watch it, but I'm absolutely fatigued at the sight of basketball players
i'll probably watch this because it seems to be more faithful than most other versions, but it's probably not gonna be quite right...
I dont think we'll be seein the thunderchild in this version either.
It's not. Not even close!
It says US release so UK don't exist if people in the UK want to watch this also?
Disney +
Quickly one after the other four of the fighting machines appeared each carried a huge funnel
At least this one has Martians.
Someday a faithful adaptation will be made of this classic novel. Some day...
I'm glad I got my jab for eye cancer this month.
Why does it looks like the tripod 2005 version? 1:22
Is it fanmade?
2 Wilhelm screams in 1 trailer is 1,5 too many.
Ooooh, I wonder how it ends ? Will humans win ? The suspense is killing me....
I really realized in reality that external weapons may not be as effective as invading the body's bacteria.
What the hell is the water sound on tenticals, really bad guys
It would have been better a film set in 19th Century as the original book. Is it necessary to remake the Spielberg version? Or more intriguing to set the movie in the 50's, like the first science fiction Hollywood version
No Bruce Willis, Mel Gibson or Nic Cage in this mega production...Strange
Made by Poundland
Can’t be worse than that awful bbc remake
I remember scary movie 4 making this into meme 😂😂😂
just borrow the maze runner directors god damn, they made 3 straight masterpieces
Ya right... Couldn't agree more
I've been waiting for this movie. Do these people know "Flat screen" tv's have been invented , and the screen is over 13 inches?
in my opinion, i don't really like the robotic movement of the tripods, half the time their movement isn't even fluid at all
the scene were one picks up a car and throws it looks trash
Please stop makin movies like this they r called tripods for a reason why does it have so many legs
those things are tentacles not legs
The creativity of Hollywood at its peak... remaking stories over and over again... seriously?
This movie looks like it hired a bunch of High Schoolers to do their graphics
Please give me the movie releasing date
For a B-movie I thought this was fookin brilliant! Love the way it is filmed on the exact book locations too.
A B movie? More like a D-Z movie!
this movie would be a blockbuster if we are in the year 1960. lmao
Who’s gonna finish first? Me with my stopmotion or them with they’re series/film
So, at least two movies, and now we have "War of the Worlds: The Series"? 🙄 Who greelights this stuff? And can I have their job and paycheck?
dude wotw is goated they're gonna bring it back every once in a while trust me
This is at least the third series.
It gets close to Jeff Wayne version but no thunderchild
So did they remember to bring their antibiotics this time?
Just make the Tripods season 3
The voice over guy is NOOOOO Richard Burton
Matrix War Of The Worlds collab 💀
2005 cgi is top tier I mean cmon what is this
Okay enough internet today.
STRANGER THINGS!
I’m just here for the comments.
Well could it be, could we actually get a half decent war of the worlds film since the 2005 one?
It was not that good. Should've stuck to the book!
Clearly camouflage clothing isnt a thing in this movie
The only remake worth making would be the authentic version from the Well's novel, set in the late 1800s. Imagine Downton Abbey meets Independence Day. Otherwise, yawn.
Didn't they already do that? I think it was a BBC series set in the Victorian Age. It was pretty good. 2019 I think.
@@nelsonc6173 It was utter drivel. It started off well, they filmed the start of it in Liverpool! (they couldn't find a location that was suitable! FFS)
After the start of this version. It went belly up when they filmed the train.. it went rapidly downhill, and deviated from the book.
Everyone is living in the woods but no one is dirty ? Hollywood !
Seems to be a UK production to me, and a pretty low budget indie film for sure. Trying to bash Hollywood on this trailer is not really going to work.
@@monsterlair UK have had some decent films but this one... even as a brit i have NO HOPE for this hell not even going to watch it, the older one will always be king to me, some movies just aren't made for specific cultures of people because well.. it doesn't make sense.
No, not Hollywood, genius
Give them a council house and everything will be fine.
Current movie quality is similar to the actor strike years ago... wonder when they will get better?
The Asylum, is that you?!
This is shot with a video camera in someones backyard
Spielberg already made THE movie.
No Byron Haskin Did
filmed with your next mobile device
Oh I wana watch this
The fact you got a roadman yoot to butcher the intro dialogue makes me want to burn every copy of this in existence. I cannot express enough how much you've sullied this national treasure of a story by making this Gen Z action comedy mess. I hope with every fibre of my body that this and all those associated with making it never succeed in life. 😊
Another adaptation of H.G. Wells' classic?!
I mean, nice effort and all, but this story clearly requires a much bigger budget.
Will we never grow tired of the " group of teens save the day" plot??? It's getting pretty damn old
I'm pretty sure that's not going to be the case, it's probably going to be bacteria that does it.
But we've just had a modern remake of WotW set in London, released back in 2019.
I wish this film the best of luck, but they're just re-treading old ground, really.
What the WotW fans really want is a film based on the Jeff Wayne adaptation set in Victorian England.
There was one. I think it was a BBC series set in the Victorian Age of England. I think it was 2019 same year as the Modern one you are referring too.
@@nelsonc6173 Yeah, that one was terrible and didn't have any Jeff Wayne-esque music in it.
I still want to know who the heck Amy was???
There was a TV movie made in Canada that followed the original Victorian story to the letter.
Oh dear what have they done 😆
