    Great finds mate! Thats a second press Paranoid w/o management credits and a small swirl label. probably from 1970. I just got one recently too :D
    Also found the first press with big bear for cheap but its a bit beat up.
    And don't worry about not knowing things, those people are probably just jealous you find way better stuff than them. Some people spend years trying to find these
    If you are ever eager to sell me a few bits and bobs of your collection let me know, I am on the hunt for some of those Sabbath and Zep albums. I am dying for Zeppelin 1 before I move back to the US in August.

      @thevinylvault  Před 2 měsíci

      Thank you, and thanks for the info about the credits I will check that out. You may also be right about people looking for these records and my only advice would be to never give up as it takes a lot of time, effort and luck to unearth gems like these. I am in no rush to sell at the moment but do appreciate your offer and hope you find what you are looking for before you return home to the USA.

    The Black Sabbath Paranoid record is laminated, which means it must be a reissue from 1971, because the Big Bear credit was missing.

    All the inner sleeves in UK issues of A Nice Pair are the same as the ones in your copy,the one you have is the second cover design which would was used on issues 3,4,5 and 6,the 6th issue was the last to be released. And don't worry about vinyl knowledge mate,it would be impossible to know everything about the records you find,but you are learning and building up knowledge as you go,I might be considered an expert in Floyd vinyl but I don't know as much about a lot of bands but having a general knowledge and spotting things that you can check on is fine,some stuff will stick in your mind and some not so much but can be easily researched online...but you have enthusiasm for it so keep digging mate 🎶

      Thanks for sharing your knowledge which is appreciated. So there are two cover designs, I need to check that out. Do you know why? Thanks for taking the time to leave some real genuine comments which encourage me to keep doing the things I love, digging for records, unearthing incredible music and on some occasions finding a hidden treasure. All the best and good hunting!

      @@thevinylvault the top right photo on the cover of the original issues of A Nice Pair was of a dental surgery owned by a Dr Phang..his name is shown in the photo,he had to complain about it because NHS rules said doctors dentists etc were not allowed to advertise etc so the cover art had to be changed for the third issue onwards 👍

    • @thevinylvault
      @thevinylvault  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Well I never expected that. What a great story, I wonder if it was one of the band dentists or just a random photo.

    the eagles live is a double album, it should also have a poster and vol4 is a crossover copy when phillips sold the vertigo label in 1973 to phonogram, and the previous albums were re issued on phonograms new wwa label, they wernt fussy about putting vertigo label records in wwa covers and vice versa for a while, while stocks lasted then wwa on both after that, until 1976 when nems took over, your sabbath bloody sabbath is original, some had lyric inners and some diddent.

    Ok ive had some great finds in my time but that many of such quality so cheap , even Simple Minds is worth more than £1 ,,like you classic rock was not my genre back in the late 70s , 80s but i dig it now ,,Lep 1 , Sabbath debut and In Rock all in my wanted list

      Glad to hear you have also had some good finds. I have been lucky with the prices over the last couple of years and boot sale records are generally cheap however, you need to check the condition as some times the records are wrecked. It's good to know it's not just me who's tastes have changed over the years, according to my comments that's 3 of us now. Good luck and good hunting.

    Your Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is an original. It did come out on WWA originally, their first album after they left Vertigo. It did however originally come with a lyric inner sleeve. By the way, check inside that Master Of Reality sleeve again. If it has a poster inside you are most definately quids in. In spite of the water damage, you really had a very very good find there. All those Sabbath albums in one go - and the Deep Purple In Rock l.p. too. Wow. Well done.

    • @thevinylvault
      @thevinylvault  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Thanks for letting me know it is an original and their first album after Vertigo. I just checked and unfortunately I don't have the lyric inner sheet. I also checked the Master Of Reality again but that is also missing the poster. With all things considered I am still very happy and really appreciate your comments. All the best.

    I have a WWA UK issue of Sabbaths' Vol 4..mine does not have the Vertigo logo on the sleeve but has a gatefold sleeve with the integral booklet..it's from 1973.
    Have you checked inside the sleeve of Master of Reality?..the ist pressings had a poster and if it's there, that could be quite valuable.

    I don't suppose Master Of Reality had the poster did it? Either way your bootie finds continue to amaze. That doesn't happen up here in the north east. You've probably checked Paranoid now but as soon as you see the laminated sleeve you know its not a 1st press but still a result. Thin Lizzy is an OG, another result. Just been reading your bio. Interesting to read you come from a hip hop background which is the same as me. Started to buy soul and funk in the late 80s for the samples then moved onto 60s and 70s pop, psych, prog early 90s. Did you sell all of your hip hop? Cheers Nige

    • @thevinylvault
      @thevinylvault  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I am sad to say it did not contain the poster, I am still hoping to find one in the future. finding records is not easy I have driven all over the UK and it can be hit and miss as you never know when someone will bring the stuff down from the loft or out of storage. Thanks for letting me know Paranoid with a laminated sleeve is not a 1st press. Yes, Hip Hop is in my blood and it inspired me to dig for breaks and samples which turned into an addiction for diggin for records from all genres. I am buying and listening to records I never would have considered in years gone by and over the last couple of years I have unearthed some amazing tracks. Yes, 99% of my Hip Hop records have gone and I have very little hope of finding them at boot sales here in the UK. All the best!

    • @nigelcampag1290
      @nigelcampag1290 Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@thevinylvault Shame about the poster, I've not got one yet. Had a few chances to buy copies with the poster for £50 to £70 region but didn't and now regret that considering the price increase. Sad to hear about your hip hop. Difficult to find in the UK as you say. Thankfully I kept mine. Like you I dug for the breaks and I discovered so much music from all genres because of it. You're doing an amazing job finding records and obviously putting in huge effort...well deserved results! Regards Nige

    Do you ever check the condition of the vinyl? That’s definitely the most important thing to me. If the sleeve is nice but the record is in bad condition then the record is garbage.

    • @thevinylvault
      @thevinylvault  Před 2 měsíci

      Yes, I normally do that off camera when out and about digging as its hard to hold the camera and pull the records out from the sleeves with one hand. I am always hoping to find mint condition records but more often than not they are somewhere between VG and VG+. If they are worse than that I normally leave them behind unless I think the sleeve could be an upgrade. Thanks for your comments.

  • @junglejim99
    @junglejim99 Před 2 měsíci +1

    I find it strange that you don't mention the quality of the vinyl, you seem to concentrate on the sleeves. I've found excellent sleeves with knackered records inside.

    • @thevinylvault
      @thevinylvault  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Yes, good point. I normally only buy records if they are somewhere between VG and VG+ if they are worse I normally leave them behind unless I think the sleeves could be an upgrade. I will take on board your comments about the condition of the vinyl and try and remember to discus this a little more in future videos. All the best.
