dam that was a clean stock beetle
My first beetle was a 1965 VW. Beetle.I dreamed of one since I was in 3rd grade it was one of the best Blues that my dad could have picked out. At the time in 1962 my girlfriend had a 1966 grey with a maroon ragtop and .I just love going through these shout . These are my bugs and many dreams and when I die I will go to hognilenddddsee9
I've driven a VW Bug since the mid 90's, and am a big fan. The year you chose was perfect for this build! Nice work guys!
LMFAO!!! He said "speedo Cable" when pulling the motor.....LOL
Halfway through and I already love the way it looks
Erin that is a great job good luck with all your endeavors.
Bitchy Richard comes back from manicure:
"Uuhuu the wheels looks horrible, they dont match my nails, uuhuuu!"
Richard is a typical texan...blowhard.
If I brought a vintage beetle to these guys in that condition for them to ride on the front bumper and shake the back end like that I'd be super pissed at how unprofessional they are
Should be called Beer Monkey. Drunks..........
Itâs a TV show, it was made for drama. Most of the issues on the shows were made up for entertainment.
I was interested in what suspension you installed. I just hotrodded a â64 Bug with a Hyper 9HV electric motor. We put in coil over shocks, but didnât change the rest of the suspension. Iâm looking for ideas.
Great video! My son and I are working on our 69 Ghia that we saved from the car crusher đ
impressive that dude just shook the rear of the beetle like that haha
... started out with a 1200cc motor, not 1600. I had a '65.
What's with the never ending fascination to lower car so that it's a stagecoach type of ride feeling?
I know if you're trying to go fast in an old beetle, you want it low to keep airflow from getting underneath & lifting the car off the road.
Where did I miss the new engine being identified and installed? I'm watching the old one come out and suddenly a new one appeared magically installed in the engine bay. I've never had that happen to me. And for those who thought it looked better before they lowered it: I agree. They lost the look lowering the suspension, no matter how many roof racks they put on.
Iâm finding that HP claim to be dubious
Now it looks like the VW hot rods you see in magazines.
I love how they blew right over explaining what they did to the engine.
this show is garbage. to car people this is a soap opera... we want more details. the drama is garbage.
They didn't do anything to the engine. Looks to me like they replaced it with a brand new 2000+cc dual carb engine. You can buy them pre-built.
Probably just ordered a crate engine
To get 200HP you need ported heads, bigger carbs, Intake and Cams. You can get it prebuilt from many performance shops.
Parents nakedâ that was sick đ
âYouâre working with a toolâŠ.no,I work for a toolâ Charles is rightâŠRichard is a freakin tool
Super schöner KÀfer, toll gemacht.
That was too original to have been modified
Where did u get the 200hp engine for it and transmission and stuff
Honestly only watched because of the car.
Perfect bug... made just a little bit better.
I LOVE this car!
The stance after the initial fit for me was perfect lowers front standard ride height at the rear proper Cal Look
Hello you guys I love VW combi & escarabajo
CuestiĂłn, the engine 200 hp you guy put in the escarabajo it can be in a 1975 combi???
Thanks for your answers đđ»
Bro ainât nobody be watching theseđ
Can I get a detailed build list? Please!!!!!!!!
My favorite build!
here in germany i knew 2 people they swapped a porsche boxter engine in a vw beetle đ
I call BS on over 200HP motor for $5500
very nice ..I wonder if they sold this already
I really appreciate that you didn't chop it up and do something stupid to it that can't be undone!
queria esse fusca para mim đđ
Love this bug!
I get 367hp in my 72 super beetle from a wrx sti turbo w/7.5lbs.
Interesting.....I would like to see that....
Beautiful VW
Perfekt đŁ
I had a 2180cc. Long ago. Kinda quick.
I wanted that car so bad.
Bug is dope
how much did it go for?
I want to find one like this : (
Beautiful car đ€©
I really like the wheels...
How much would it cost for that 65 beetle motor and suspension set up? I would be interested once I find a beetle within the next few months.
they said motor was 5.5k suspension around 2k so 8k ish
is this bug still for sale or sold...thank you
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !"
Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam ."
Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!"
Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..."
Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea !"
Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky."
Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction."
Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"
Thatâs beautiful bug
I would love to see detail on the suspension and motor. I love the final product. Would love to know how much it would cost to get a car like this đ€
Porobably one of the cheapest old cars to mod and def easy to work on.
I had my first VW engine removed in no time flat
Hermoso
200hp in a beetle is like 500Hp in a normal car.
No way đ maybe 350
I like it up more but I guess itâs CG would increase roll over.
Is it sold?
What is the motor?
Soooooo...what motor went in it exactly?
Herbie had that in the late 60s.
what engine is it?
Roof rack GREAT FEATURE.
Even reliable Subaru or Honda Civic engine swaps are the best options.
Air cooled is pretty fool proof
That's a nice bug.
I just wanna know the make and size of the wheels and tires
17 inch airkewl smoothies. 2000 bucks for the set.
Cool car
Wow Very old footage
I was driving my father vw 1961 then he replace it with vw 1973 was a great car 2:51
Nice bug. Wish I caught this bone before it was sold
What did you do to prevent engine fire?
Nothing different compared to a stock engine. Just because itâs making more power through using parts with a much more advanced technology compared to tech that was available in the 40âs, 50âs and 60âs, doesnât mean itâs more prone to fire. Mine has a fire extinguisher mounted under the dash, and I keep up with regular maintenance.
What do you want for the bug
I need that motor in mine đ©
How much did this cost? I have a 69 beetle I want to start restoring as soon as Iâm done with my dads 85 s15. The beetle I want to go all out and turn it into something like this.
Shoulda put a Cummins in it
How do you have a quality 200 hp motor built for $5500. Add another $3000 to be fair.
Cheap crate small blocks for 5 and 6..I wouldnt buy one but some havent learned their lesson
There was a guy who put a Subaru boxer in one That put 500hp at the wheels!
I am all for recycling. So use the engine from a car where the body is totaled and the body from a car where the engine is dead. So did not listen, but is this a refurbished engine? New engines should be electric. Or at least do some fun stuff, like a scaled down (hi-octane to ease cooling) flat-6 or even a 120° V6 .
@@ArneChristianRosenfeldt don't know but I get where you are coming from. I once had a 64' ford that blew up and I had a wrecked 76' Chevy with a 350 in it. I put the engine and transmission in the Ford. Had to make some mounts and get the drive shaft modified but it worked. Also here in Kentucky I've seen a lot of saw mills with just about any engine that will run hooked to them.
The OEM transaxle can handle about 1/3 of that power. Only a matter of time before it goes "BOOM, crunch, crunch, crunch."
Id buy it if its still for sale
So what, the world rock crawling champion of 1995 put a super up 550 horsepower wrx engine in his Volkswagen Beetle, before this show
A WHOLE 200hp?đ€Łđ€Ł
From 40ish hp... Yeah a whole 200 hp, 5x what it had originally. You know of many other cars with 5x the original horsepower? Ever heard of power to weight by the way? 200hp in a 1600lbs car is comparative to modern car with 400 hp since most cars weigh 3000lbs+ these days
@@mohameduwaiskhan3367 Guy you responded to is probably stil lplaying video games lol. Not easy to make power with VWs
Need to race that Dung Beetle, You Will Lose .... ASN Blows away Ls V8s
$3500!
How MUCH
200 plus horsepower in a 1600 pound car should be pretty fast.
Like 400 in a 1989 Iroc z. High 12s for sure.
Do you know what type of process was carried out for the 200 HP?
@@joseluishernandez7127 there should be another episode or version of the same episode showcasing on how they placed in the new 200hp motor
Until the transaxle blows, which will be soon.
I miss my '73 super beetle ugly as shit yellow. Damn thing would short out if two people sat in the back. lol
Definitely didn't need the luggage rack. Still a cool Slug Bug!
That could make it a very practical daily though
Nobody had those luggage racks back in the day.
U should have put a new Porsche 911 motor in it
Delete the rack and lift the front..
everyone slams them to far. looks broken đ
Beautiful car though, glad they didn't cut it.
THey ride like crap when they are that low
What motor was that
VW
What the hell! You never showed installing the engine.
Get it so low you scrape the pipes off it..that's rad!đ
WAUW
Is the original mechanical steering replaced by power steering?
200hp from a bug motor is allot!
Especially for a n/a engine. One that Iâm looking at is 106 hp. Should be enough for me.
Speedo cable, ha!
My thoughts exactly đ
The Speedo cables in the front đ
I like the bug a lot. I really am NOT a fan of lowering the suspension on something that is supposed to be a daily driver kind of car. Show car? Absolutely, but a car that is expected to navigate roads in TX, especially ones with possible potholes and or speed bumps? No thanks. Just my opinion and yeah I know everybody's got one. You buddy over there got a Karmen Ghia in as good a shape as that bug?? I'd be all over it especially with a decent (not outrageous like 200+ HP) power upgrade. That bug must have been sold beforehand since it isn't in the inventory and doesn't show on the previously sold.
I believe the suspension is adjustable, so the owner can set it for whatever they like.
I heard those beetles being lightweight & poor aerodynamics need to be low if you wanna go fast to keep it from lifting & blowing all over the road.
@@michaelbrinks8089 They cant go fast enough to create lift
Sidewinds can be a problem. I almost got blown up on 2 wheels and off the road by a crazy strong sidewind freaked me out
Was used to my Camaro which was a ton heavier
Kindig es el chingĂłn
How $$$ much?
One good way to spot a fake Hollywood show is when they spend more time talking about what color the wheels are vs what the motor specs.
Boy just enjoy the damn showđ
Very cool! I have a Ragtop Oval Beetle from 1956 and I built it new from scratch last yearđ€©
when I drive-ship-drive the car from Switzerland to your Shop in Texas - would you like to put a 200Hp engine in for free, for a Marketing-Story in your show? đ€©
This will maybe a funny challenge! đ€
Tell us about the engine!
Why does everyone think a bug has to have a roof rack. Stop already!
For surfboard, duh
@@rawr02009 , In Pittsburgh ? In Ohio ? Every car show l go to, roof racks, no surf boardsâŠDuh
@@ljsites bugs are often connected to surfing afaik but my comment was really a joke
because it looks good on it , well i think at least
What was it sold for back than?
67, about $1800 for the basic sedan.
not 65 seats
its giving Ted Bundy vibes
