I don´t remember an atmosphere like this in athletics since long time ago, very happy to see athletics is not dead for European audiences.
Congrats to Munich people, i never thought germans could be so passionate.

Germany has a tradition in producing an atmosphere like this during track and field events for many years in Stuttgart, Berlin, Munich and potentially Düsseldorf. Of course success of local heros like Gina, Constance CoKo Klosterhalfen and others helps to raise the mood. For many decades almost all football stadiums were build as multi-sport arenas and had tracks around the pitch for a reason.

Have watched this edition of this race many times, and have seen also a German coverage as well. On the German version, they had one of their cameras focused on Gina only (why not, since she is the "home town" girl). It was very noticeable that Gina's focus stayed straight in front of her and remained unbroken in that way to the finish line--never wavering her line of sight nor changing in her expression from start to finish, not for even a split second. Perfect expression of how to run a race inwardly no matter the outcome or where you find yourself at any one point during the race. Also worth noting is the absolute graciousness of Kambundji--most impressive indication of her strong character and genuine sportsmanship. Lastly, Eva Swaboda is always so genuinely happy for whoever wins, she's also a great and generous competitor. For many reasons, this race is a joy to watch, over and over. BTW, the difference between the top three is literally a splitting of hairs. Even so, it is the torso/shoulders that are marked at crossing the finish line. Gina dipped at the line, yet Kambundji did not, and dipping at the line is one more athletic aspect of the sprint races.
