In this video we go over the Nike KD 17:
The biggest surprise comes from the fit, especially compared to Kevin Durant’s most other signature shoes before this - it is no longer too narrow. However, with the slightly more spacious fit comes heel slippage, lockdown isn’t the best but it is tolerable if you wore thicker socks such as the Nike Elite ones. True to size is still the most ideal option, but there’s certainly no need to size up. Heel cushion became softer than the KD 16, this is a responsive midsole with decent comfort and impact protection. The translucent outsole even performed perfectly fine for me on clean or dusty courts, nice and squeaky for those looking for a consistent grip. Otherwise, this should be a fun and smooth ride for most players. Compared to a shoe that it’s very similar to - the GT Hustle 2, this fills in the lack of a midfoot plate to provide better torsional support and upper rigidity.

Question for you Tommy, I have pretty narrow feet and I wanna get the gt cut academy but in the women's colorway. You think it'll fit fine or be to small/narrow?
How do you feel the strobel if the forefoot? It is hatd plastic or soft material?
I am glad you decided keep these short and precise. That's exactly why i keep watching. No nonsense, straight to business, couple of food breaks or burps along the way. Completely efficient.

earlier than KD's playoff exit - I tried them on and was immediately wanting to cop! Gotta say my fave shoes currently are the KD trey 5 IVs tho so I just have trash taste. Tommy you're the best!!

Love how they adopted the air max (?) Sun rise design. These look much better than 16. Maybe nike shd start doing collabs between their lines. For a start, make the tennis shoes look less hideous.
Yeah the colorway / Air Max Plus tribute turned out looking fantastic in my opinion. Excited for more colorways too!
KD16 was the best hoop shoes I’ve played in since the Nike Sharkalaid. KD line > LeBron line. I also just found out that Tommy wears the same shoe size I wear.

You were right! I picked up a pair of hovr havoc from UA at Ross dress for less,they are metallic copper color kinda like basket weave look,they say for six months finally they dropped to 23.99$ I picked up ,there comfortable micro G mid sole,I remember you like G foam ,I was surprised there good actually.i think no one wanted because of color but funny I got compliments about them lol.just thought I'd share.

I had quite a different experience I got the "penny" colorway (solid rubber outsole) I didn't notice any heel slippage matter of fact the fit is very snug for me and the traction is great but the squeak is inconsistent sometimes there's no squeak and sometimes it's the loudest thing I've heard I had some issues with breathability my feet were heating up like crazy I was using them outside in hot wheater so you should probably wear thin socks with this shoe overall I recommend it

Both are wide foot friendly, KD’s might take a slight edge with better torsional support and upper rigidity so I might go with these. They’re very similar actually.
