  • Up until recently, it seemed like veiling was a thing of the past. Now, though, it's making a comeback with millennial Catholics in such a beautiful way. Did I ever think that I would veil? Absolutely NOT, but here I am wearing a veil weekly, and I love it! Collabbing on this video is my friend Deena from A Catholic Wife. I'll be looking forward to hearing from you!

    ABOUT ME
I never thought that I would start a youtube channel after starting a blog back in January ’18. My husband gave me the nudge to start writing again, which was both nerve-racking and freeing at the same time. I then set a goal of launching youtube for January 2019, and here I am.
But the writing and filming is just “on the side”. My main focus and job is being a wife and mother to 3 amazing kiddos whom I happily, gratefully and all the mushy stuff homeschool. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. God pushes us in directions we never thought we’d want to go; so, when he started pushing me to homeschool I pushed back a little bit, but long story short, I fell into his plans and never looked back! It’s been an awesome ride!
On this channel, I talk about being fit both physically and spiritually, being the fearless daughter of Christ, how I try to fulfill my vocation to the best of my ability and align myself to the Will of God the best way possible. I’m also a “budding” Apologist or at least I’m trying!
Thanks for stopping by. I’m looking forward to seeing where this road leads.

I was raised baptist, in the New Orleans metro area, so there was always a catholic influence in my life. We wore veils for communion. I became catholic in 2005. The call was definitely always on my heart.

The Fit Fearless and Faithful Mom- Audrey Horn my family had always had ties to the church. My sister was even baptized catholic as a child. I always had a rosary and was encouraged to pray it often. So after I graduated high school I started looking deeper into it. I prayed about it and God lead me to the church. That Easter vigil was a night I’ll never forget.

I'm not even a Catholic in full communion and I veil at Mass. I can't even consider doing otherwise!! I was going to enter the church, but stopped to put my veil on, and saw a little girl walking past me with her mother. The mother minded her own business, but the little girl stared at me. I recognized the look in her eyes. It's the same look I had when I saw pictures of beautiful little girls dressed in white for First Communion. I wanted that so badly, but I was removed from Catholicism as a preschooler and raised anti-Catholic Pentecostal. That little girl wants to veil, and I hope some day she does.

I've been feeling called to veil too. It started by searching for "prayer clothing" online to find what I picture people wearing in Dubai. It would have just been for the home. But then I realized I loved the idea of detaching from my ego and feeling more intimate with the Lord. I have been devoted to Mary too and really feel compelled to stop distracting men in any way I can. It really sucks that veiling could draw unwanted attention. I am still taking Catechism classes and not fully Catholic yet, and I don't want to be seen as being hypervigilant, overzealous, attention-seeking, culture-stealing, ignorant... it really has just become a natural inclination like you are explaining. Like it just ends up making sense to veil myself... it is a beautiful thing. Precious and sadly very rare it seems. Thank you for this video :)

I was always interested in the beautiful tradition of ceiling. While I did think of it, I also was nervous about drawing attention to myself or would others think I was trying to be better then them. Fast forward to years the thought of it still came back and forth. Just like you mentioned that sometimes what we think and what God thinks meet in the middle. Then about two years later while I was at Home Depot waiting on my husband, it was a week before Lent and I get an email from Veils by Lily (I had subscribed two years before but their emails would usually go to my other email), and it said “Thinking about veiling? Now is the time.” So I realized hmm maybe this is it, I clicked it and ordered my first veil. It’s been a few years and I am still veiling plus my two teen daughters have started as well.

It’s sad how it takes so much courage to follow the basic disciplines of our faith: veiling, communion on the tongue, reverence, etc. These used to be standard disciplines that didn’t take any extraordinary thought, but so much has changed. I pray that the Novus Ordo can become more reverent. I’ve been wearing a veil at Mass for a year now after a similar inspiration, but there’s no trend starting. Only a few ladies do it. There are 5,000 families at my parish so that may be one reason why.

I can relate, I started to wear a veil in July of 2023 (yes, I am a newbie!). I bought my first veil during our family vacation at EWTN ... I was at one of the shops just looking, and I had an urgent feeling that I should buy a veil before going to visit the Holy Eucharist, so I picked one. I turned around to find my daughters looking at me (mind you, they are teenagers), so we all got veils, and that is how my family started to wear veils for mass. Did we feel odd, yes. However, we understood that wearing a veil is not about us.. it's all for JESUS, and that's all it matters. âœïžđŸ™đŸ» Presently, I have noticed that more ladies have started to wear veils during mass đŸ€— Yaaaay!! Most recently, I was approached by a church member who asked me where she could buy a veil..
So, let's continue wearing our veils to mass.

When I was in college, I was just returning to the Protestant faith of my youth, and I read 1 Corinthians 12, which initially inspired me to cover my head. I find head coverings among Catholic women to be beautiful. Veiling is such a great sign of humility and modesty :) This practice is virtually unheard of in Protestant churches save for very small sects. Most of us interpret Paul's words on the matter as a command based on the culture of the times and therefore doesn't apply to modern day. Which incidentally some denominations use the "culture" argument to justify women's ordination as well. smh. But anyways, great job on another great video.

Have to say, as a protestant, ALL protestants wore head coverings to church meetings until the 1960s. By the 1970s and women's so-called liberation in our faces, it stopped in all but the most fringe sects. Such a shame it stopped. I've started wearing a mantilla again, wonderful.

Your video randomly popped up in my video suggestions and I've seen "Why I started veiling" videos before, but I don't veil myself. Lately I've been feeling called by God to get closer to mother Mary and when you said that this was a reflection of her and how she looked in the presence of God my heart felt full with the Holy Spirit. I'm still not sure how to start but please pray for me and my family. đŸ’žđŸ•Šïž

Go find yourself a beautiful veil online, buy it on Amazon. There are many choices and are so adorablen and beautiful. Try to find a Traditional Latin Mass in your area too, there you will find every woman wearing a veil. I also use my veil on Novus Ordo or new Catholic Mass. It's to honor and respect to Christ. It's beautiful! 🙌

Technically women wear the darker colors and the girls wear the lighter colors yes you're correct on the traditional of the black and the white but when it comes to veiling what I have found is that the women wear darker colors so the light blue to me would be more for your daughter and a navy blue would be better for you that's my personal opinion but everybody does what they want to do when it comes to veiling.

Hi! I really want to start veiling, but no one- litterally no one veils at my church. I just watched Fr. Mike’s video on veiling. Did you see it? He says he was told that if you do something in mass that sets you apart you shouldn’t do it. Hmmm, this would totally set me apart. Just wanted some thoughts on that? I don’t know! Thanks for all of your awesome content!

    • @thelivingfaithfulhomeschoo9906
      @thelivingfaithfulhomeschoo9906  Pƙed 4 lety

Hey! Sorry for the delay in response. We've been away. :)
I just watched Father Mike's video for the first time since you mentioned it, and thank you for making mention of it. I always want to learn more. I see what you're saying, but if you continue watching after he makes mention of what they say (I think it's the friars...? eek I'm drawing a blank), they then say that you need to make sure that you're doing it for the right reason. If you're doing it to glorify God, then by all means, yes, do it, but if you're doing it for vanity purposes then steer clear. What this makes me think of is the viral picture of Kim Kardashian wearing a veil. 😬 I wouldn't be surprised if we started seeing many women veil. However, what is the purpose? Is it to model Mary and clothe yourself with dignity before the Lord? Or is it to model yourself after Kim, the celebrity figure? I'm not at all saying that this is you by any means, but just giving an example of what may or may not be appropriate.
I can definitely understand feeling set apart. Yesterday, I went to a Church out of town and it is TINY! oh goodness. I was the only one wearing a veil, and I was getting the stare down for sure. It was uncomfortable, but I just pulled my veil more over my face and was just still in the Lord's presence.
Thanks so much for watching. Keep me posted on how your decision making goes too. I'll be praying for you to make the right decision for you. Believe me, I know it's hard. God Bless friend. :)

m w I didn’t watch Fr. Mike’s video but here are my thoughts on it. I started veiling maybe about 5 years ago before I ever joined a Latin Mass parish and I was really anxious about being the lone veiled woman at Mass. The mere fact that so many women want to veil but hesitate tells me that vanity is not the motivation. You obviously have to examine your own heart and mind first, but if you want to veil for reasons of humility and reverence for the Lord then I think you should do it. I still attend Novus Ordo Masses on weekdays and for the most part am the only one veiled but it doesn’t phase me anymore. I also kneel and receive the holy Eucharist on the tongue. I’m doing this out of love for Jesus and I also pray that my attire and my posture makes people realize His true presence in the Eucharist. We don’t get to give sermons to other Catholics at Mass but we can evangelize through our own actions and dress. Just some food for thought. God bless!

*TRUE AND POWERFUL CONVERSION STORY OF A GREAT SINNER, AND GREAT MIRACLES! part II
    March, 2022
Thank GOD for our LADY of GUADALUPE; when I visited her Shrine in Mexico in Dec. 2012, and I was suffering at the time of "Sleep Apenea" I was healed really while still there - FRARNKLY, my first intensions were to honor her. †Also, when I prayed few Rosaries to help me to quit smoking cigaretes on May 17, 1998, she answered my prayers immediately, though I was SUPER skeptical at that time, (prv 3: 5)
†Truly, when I was inspired to recite one single Rosary in December 12, 2000, I was healed from my unbelief (Jn. 14: 1) - and I tried at the time first to pray OUR FATHER, but I couldn't remember the prayer; but GOD still saved me (Jn 14:15 - 27)! Also During my first Rosary procession outdoors in May 13, 2001, I saw Queen of the Holy Rosary walking with us for 4-5 seconds; And she had long, dark, blue dress & absolutely attractive one.
†Since my conversion, I try NOT to miss attending Masses weekly or daily etc. And I pray the Devine Mercy Chaplet at 3:00pm, and I NEVER miss it.
†UNDOUBTLY, Reading & meditating on "Gospel of life" according to the daily readings is like my "daily bread" And I read the Bible from cover to cover 3 times since my conversion! - and I read the CCC as well, (Is. 55: 10 -11). Also, I like to what some one says: every winter turns into spring. But "The fool says in his heart, "There is no God" (Ps.14:1)
†Unfortunately, many "Catholics don't know what they have, and Evangelicals don't know what they are missing!"
†And I used to attend few different Evangelical Churches for a few years searching for TRUTH while residing in Stockholm & they opened my eyes a LITTLE bid to the facts of faith at the time.
† God is still in the miracle buisness. And thank God for the ROSARY miracle prayer, etc.(Ps. 107:13- 14. †"This is the day which GOD hath made a day for us to REJOICE & be GLAD"- Ps.118: 2): czcams.com/video/HP46fuF3hao/video.html
†By Saba Korial, & I was born in Middle East, now Canadian & Christian CATHOLIC & part of 1.360 Million world wide Catholics. (2 Tm 2:4 & 4:7). Note that the Name of God is mentioned 3 times while praying the ROSARY as follow: first the LORD, then Jesus & GOD (RV 3:10).
