GLIDE BAITING for JACKS!! | Land based estuary fishing

- G'day Everyone! This week's episode is another short wicked land based session chasing jacks in a small estuary during low tide. In this case I managed a mixed bag of different estuary predatory species which is also really cool.
The Bent Minnow trick wasn't as effective as the previous episodes so I switched to a 128mm glide bait and this is what seemed to convince them to eat!!

Another great vid Ramon. Those wasps dont play, I walked into and pushed a branch out the way while moving along a creek bank once and exact same thing happened. Cranky buggers. Thanks for sharing ✌️

Thanks mate, it’s a very nice rod, in a couple of weeks you’ll see it handling bigger jacks. It was also casting the 21gr of the glide bait very comfortably despite it being rated for 14gr max. Yeah the wasps experience wasn’t the greatest of the trip that’s for sure haha

Haha thanks for watching my friend! Yeah it wasn’t fun…my left lower eyelid was swollen for 24h and I had marks on my chest, back and side for a couple of days 😅 but the fishing was great and that’s what matters! 😂

Do you ever use scent? I wonder if when you pause it that scent would get them to commit more often
I only ever use scent when chasing snapper on plastics, but I don’t like it…I feel like I’m cheating a bit…I like the challenge of lure fishing to trick the fish with a good presentation, adding smells into the equation would make me feel like stepping into bait fishing a bit 😬
It’s ok if they don’t commit, this means I need to improve or change the retrieve. Unfortunately I did not have a lot of time during those sessions but going through the footage again I realise things I could have done better. Hopefully next time I’m there I can put all that learning to practice 👌🏼
Bro when i was casting soft plastic, some fish tear my lure from the botom, headside, but it didnt hook , i think it was snapper
