- Murder Nova’s new car is simply immaculate! It may look a lot like the old Nova on the outside..but within holds it’s true beauty. Shawn wen’t with a SMALLER motor - a 482ci Proline “small-block”, and kept the 88mm turbos. He said this new motor will rev to 9500 rpm! That’s WILD! Can’t wait to see where the car takes him once he get's it shootin straight - it’s going to be a MONSTER!

@@wesley_Certified The old murder nova makes over 3200hp so your 2500hp is childs play compared to it.
Things I’d suggest are a frontal billet to increase downforce on the front end, lower the wheelie bars as much as you possibly can, and adjust the springs so the front tires aren’t pulled off the ground every time. Maybe raise the back end up higher and make the springs softer in the rear and in the front? You don’t want too much because too much of either will throw your car off balance too badly. You want just enough give to only make the front end a little lighter, but that’s it. Any more and you’re doing wheelies into the wall. I’m sure if you punch numbers in enough, you’ll figure the Goldilocks zone for your suspension

In my view on the new murder nova is that it just needs to be tuned and tweaked so it goes straight and for Shawn to get used to the power of it and just go with it and keep going that's all he can do with the car

Amazing how much different a symmetrical port small block sounds than a conventional Pontiac engine at the same displacement...
I would try to put a soft long travel suspension on the front.
That way when the chassis goes up the wheels will gently travel down to keep contact.

Idea.... Set up a rear disc brake system connected to a torque vectoring system to mechanically apply left or right rear disc braking to steer the car when the front wheels are off the ground.

Greatest King that wont help if the tires are in the air half the time. Reset the wheelie bars or change the shock stiffness
that's going in the right direction. I might not know much, but I do know if you lower the engine on a chassis car you change the center line on the car. We learned this the hard way doing the suspension on our Hemi powered Daytona. I gone to a aluminum block and I know the shocks are going to need to be changed because of the weight difference between an iron Hemi and the aluminum one

Tucker Flynn.... SOMETIMES!!..... but more often than Not.... it's due to having More torque than hp at the "hit" which results in the pinion gear "walking" up on the ring gear which = a wheelie. I would always set the wheelie bars on my dragsters ("rails") so that the front would never lift more than just a few inches (whereby forcing the ALL torque to be transmitted to the wheels).... because when you're going "up"... you're Not going Forward.... at least not as quickly as you could be, and it will cost you a win unless the other lane is having difficulties of his or her own.
Wheelies might "look cool" in the stands..... but in reality, besides "possibly" costing the driver/owner a race.... it "can be" costly, in terms of physical destruction to the car (and possibly even to the driver) as well.
That's not how it works, dude....

It's not uncommon when you drop hella weight in a race car there's a whole new learning curve. A lot of people forget about the rollout of the rear tires. Just because both rear tires have the same air pressure doesn't mean to have the same roll out. When you launch on the rear tires only and one tire is a 1/8th of a inch taller than the other one it's going to track towards the taller Tire. When we did Sand Drags that's exactly what used to happen to us sometimes. One tire would have half a pound maybe even a pound more pressure than the other Tire to have the same roll out.

you are correct about the murder nova being sick...not once have i seen 1 straight pass...strip or street this new car will not go straight down the road...all i have seen from the new murder nova is ill. when you have to lift off the accerator to keep on the road or off the walls at the strip is ill.

Want to know a secret ? The narrowed rear ends today are too narrow. You should push em ou a bit for more stability by turning thicker and fatter axles. I mean 1 1/4 to 1 3/4 inch and spread the housings out. You will track like on rails. You just need to cut out the fenders more or add flairs. There is an 66' Impala running a similar set up and never gets squirrely off the pad. Today they can make anything and with thicker axles no need for the narrowed housings. You need to machine a special carrier system too, but not impossible.

He said the car lost 150 lbs off the front by going a small block. That's why it's lifting the tires to far down the track. If the car builder knew this he should have moved the motor forward 3 or 4" and the rear axle back 1". that's just common scene.
They need to check the measurements on the rear end,something is crooked!
