- Yes, I know. It's on CZcams already. But somehow I didn't hear this version until last night, and was completely blown away by it. It's so nice not to hear the crowd for once, and it's actually pretty clear. Sorry it's not louder, idk what's up with that.

That fact that my goat couldn’t finish this masterpiece of a song but made us wait 4 years for a new album where he could finish a song called ‘Why You No Love Me?’ Will haunt me forever unless this song gets an official release at some point in my life.

If you're watching in 2016, this song was originally written for the Battle Studies record. This version was recorded at Berklee College in 2009.

I just love discovering these unofficial tracks of him...there's so much raw talent and it shows how good he is as a singer and guitarist...couldn't have been prouder of him
It never ceases to amaze me that no matter how low I get, hearing John makes me pick up the guitar and move forward, get better, but always stay true to the love of the craft.

This song is like a second part for the song Walt Grace's Submarine Test January 1967. Except the lyrics say that it's set on a sailboat rather than a submarine.
Actually he said that this song became "I will be found (lost at sea)". Guess he changed a little bit between song-writings.

I think its because of his vocal problems, 2013 was the time john hit rock bottom with his vocals, his range was extremely limited during that time so i think thats why he changed some parts of this song

Apenas Danilo disagree. It’s subjective but whereas Elvis is probably a more natural singer, and early Mayer was pretty bad. Mayers voice matured into something much stronger and distinctive

I remember when a sliver of this song was up on CZcams with the Hokusai Tsunami image. I'd return to it at the bottom of a depression like a compass. These chord changes and that melody embody a North for me, that another soul is just as wet and miserable at the heart that storm they can tell is going to end. And that revelation comes just as the light breaks the storm in half. And you are left on the perfect ocean under the exploding colors of a forgiving sunset. I like finding this in secret
Don't change for any one John, if the fans want this song but you don't want to do it. Then don't man.
Can someone please tell me why he never puts these great songs on his albums? This is better then most of what ended up on Battle Studies. We really need to start a petition to get him to produce some of these lost songs.

For so long I’ve tried to find that someone but I just can’t I’ve tried so hard be the best person I can. And now I’ve found this other person and she’s like one of my best female friends but I know I have no chance with her at all she even told me she doesn’t feel like dating anyone.and now I feel exactly how John describes in the song alone on a sail boat just hoping I’ll wash upon some else’s shore. But I’m starting to lose faith maybe I’ll be out on sea forever.

It's been a rough few months. I don't like complaining about issues of mine; I like to think that I'm an empathetic person, and part of that empathy complex leans heavily against putting my issues at the forefront where other people can notice them, even if that includes just telling my friends I'm struggling. It's never one big thing. Not a Big Bang that sets itself off. It's a million little things. For example, I just found out after meeting this wonderful girl and hanging out for many weeks, and I mean wonderful (she sings like an angel, is the quiet reserved type, total nerd) that we don't feel the same way about each other. I REALLY hate venting about romantic stuff just because it's so cliche. But here I am, losing my shit over my favorite underground cry track.
I really hope that if theres anybody out there that has this problem that I have--of holding it in out of care for yourself and the others around you--that you'll reach out. Talk to someone. The breaking point is subjective, and it's never worth rolling the dice with it.

I have to say - this is beautiful, but I can tell why he never actually released it. Lyrics are not up to par with most of his stuff. That said, I hope it's on "zero"
If he can release "Love on the Weekend" lyrics, he can release this. Comparatively these are incredible lyrics
Love on the Weekend, to me, is supposed to be a simple catchy song so it is fitting that the lyrics aren't complex. This song is much more ambitious, but the lyrics do not live up to the song. Just my thoughts
