ah well it was just for this particular style that i needed to use a base... makes it more "authentic" or something lmao
some artists only use bases because they're too lazy to draw. not this artist, but lots of other kiddos. it's wrong if you never actually learn to draw.
The Fault in Our Cutie Marks actually people uses bases for a lot of thing like desing, pose or style reference, just for fun or what u said

I agree with everything everyone else has said. These are down right amazing. But I do have one question. Why MS-Paint? You have photoshop. Not really judging or anything. Just genuinely curious.
mostly because I was watching a lot of mspaint base edit speedpaints for no reason, and also because theres some kind of fun involved in using such a simplistic program haha.

Rose Crimson Sorry to butt in, but MS Paint is actually really fun to work in! I know so personally from being an MS Paint user myself that it's fun trying to figure out how to make effects in a program that doesn't give you them from the start is rather fun, even if it's a bit tiring. ^w^
It is also super great and clean for pixel art! There is even a choice to cleanly make the pixel art bigger when you are done if you want!
I love the idea of Applejack having scars, wow!!

The line art is wonderful. I love how flutter shys wings look sort of insect like. However, the color s are very messy, especially for twilight, flutter shy, and pinkie. When you design a character, you should want the viewer to be drawn towards the face our the eyes, and the several different colors you chose make it hard to know whet to look.
The one that turned out the best is Apple Jack. The only thing I would remove would be the tiny white spots and give her cutie mark a clearer design.
I absolutely adore the line art, though. It's cute and it's easier to differentiate the characters without using the colors than in the show.

I'm glad you have enough of a reason to use bases. Usually with base 'artists' they never learn as they progress, they just steal bases for their own purposes and even sell other people's work as their own. You though? You're keeping the show aesthetic which has problems with limited body variety so this is a good exception!
