I feel like people tend to focus on Hope's relationships with her other family members that they tend to forget how much Elijah fought for Hope in the early stages of her life and the only reason Elijah gave up his memories was because he knew that if Klaus started to spiral he would go to him. But that would've put Hope in danger so he gave them up to protect her and to keep his word to Klaus.I will admit I still haven't forgiven him for Hayley's death. I do understand that he didn't have his memories so because of that I have very mixed feelings about the whole situation. But after he got his memories back and Hope had the hollow in her again Elijah was prepared to take the hollow from her so that Klaus could be there with Hope.

I loved their relationship so much!! I wish they had more scenes together, especially with the teenager Hope/Danielle, because for me they were so much alike....And I would have loved for only Elijah to die (not Klaus) saving both Hope and Klaus in their arms....

Honestly when u put it like that that ending would have been better for the great Elijah Mikaelson 1000 years of badassness to die for his little brother and his niece wtf why couldn’t that happen or Elijah staying alive and klaus dying

I cried when Julie Plec killed off Michael Malarkey (Enzo) he was one of my favorite characters I liked him more than I liked Damon. I didn't like Father K tho

Well known fact that few people noticed in this series. Klaus never loved anyone. He only protected that which he believed was "his" and never truly loved. But Elijah through the series as the writers said "Loved Hope truly and unconditionally." It's why he never tried to restrict her or keep her from being more then what she was. Even going as far as allowing Hope to hurt him and not fighting back.
