När jag ser hur mycket jobb det är att göra det där på V70 gen 2 är jag VÄLDIGT glad att jag har en gen 1 båda strålkastare ur (utan att ta loss stötfångare), glas bytt och återmonterat på 40 minuter totalt. Toppenprodukt dock.
Hi everyone!! I have just bought 2 new lenses. What i have done before is polish them inside and outside. Used a dremel , cut close to the lamp all around, then polished them inside and outside . Used silicone to glue them together again. They have stayed on for about 10 years now. So I am thinking for the new lenses maybe i should just cut around the new lenses and glue them on to whats left of residue. Instead of trying to pull all the plastic. It looks like a pain in the a&&.
Woah! All the while I kept thinking I had to replace the entire headlights. Thank you! Wish the website would be in English for international customers and certainly hope that you will ship to Asia!
Good Work Mate.. Wish I could get lenses for pre facelift C70 MK2.. Almost impossible to source lights in good shape for C70.. ( on UK market ) and as per usual.. nothing else fits..
This is a seriously fucked task to do and im really annoyed that Volvo had the fucking God of Glue make that adhesive to keep the lenses in place. I recently started on this and man, it is so difficult to do without completely malforming the frame which the lens is supposed to be on. Edit: I have now changed lenses on 2 sets of headlights. it was a downright pain in the ass, the heatgun really is your best friend and you better have some amount of arm strength and the right tool to grab a hold of the plastic to bend it out of its glue crevace.
dont think you do this in 12 minutes xD i needed almost 8h to finish it all. but it looks really good and the best thing is... I CAN SEE at night again :) thanks for the video, helped very much!

That's a brilliant video One question , the lamp is the same type as my UK 2005 apart from the dipped beam unit Mine is the halogen where yours looks more modern , would your type of light be an option for mine ? I've never even seen your type ,
Hi Tony, The lights in the video is xenon with curve light, but the lens for all V70, XC70 2005 - 2007 and S60 2005-2009 is the same. So these will also fit yours if you have halogen light or xenon.

@@justincase6645 I have a 2005, and it has xenons. I guess it depends on what the original purchaser specified on the options lost. I have the SE LUX so maybe that is another reason. This video is excellent, but the "before" headlight looked so good I would not have bothered to change the lenses yet. I could have lived with that old lens quite happily. I will have to try this before the next MOT is due.

För dig med halogenlampor går det bra att slipa ner & polera upp. Xenon dock bränner plasten så den blir "mjölkig" på insidan (UV-strålning från lampan som gör detta?) och det går inte att slipa bort från utsidan, som du säkert förstår.

Good tutorial but the price of 180€ for the the two bits of plastic it’s ridiculous. That’s not expensive that’s robbery! For anyone who is looking to do similar thing please do research, you can find them for less then 30€ per piece.

Is it necessary to unplug/disconnect battery before removing the headlights at p2? Need to do the same with my headlights...
It's a good idea to do that before to avoid any error codes, but if you don't turn the key or anything its not necessary. :)

Se på hur man byter halvljus på V70 tidigare modell där man inte behöver ta loss hela grillen. Det är bara tre skruvar bak man behöver lossa.

It's the headlight fitted with factory xenon, they're quit expensive IF you can find a nice working set second hand

Ja absolut går det att slipa och polera med bra resultat. Dock hjälper det dåligt om det blivit märken även på insidan. :)
