Bruhh that's like a reality check for every JEE aspirant. That also motivates us that IIT is not everything if you don't clear that doesn't mean your life is over because you can get high earning package from some other institute too.(of course institutes related to your desired field)
Why to think about placements when you are just giving the entrance exam? Studying at IIT is better than any other option present in country Sad reality of IITs are still better than Happy reality of any other institute
I am a dropper but was unable to clear Mains, and my percentile is even less than 50%ile. You can guess right now what my situation is right now: I broke my parents expectations, and they are now scolding me that I have just wasted a huge amount of money (as I am from a middle-class family). I'm from IIT Kanpur and it's true overall placements this year isn't what you expect from top IIT, it's true that the highest package is on 4 cr but still, but i think it's because the problem with tech companies happening around the globe.

the placement senario is almost same in IIT bhu . 4 student got placed in quant company with the highest package of 1.25cr (india) . but the fact the they only allow MnC and cse dept to sit in there placement . this year the placement senario was preety well in term term of average because dept like phamaceutical Engg(23.5lpa avg) , metallurgy(20lpa avg) , ceramic(21lpa avg), engg phy (25.5 avg) etc have average package more than 23lpa. here's the tricky part come that most of them got a revoke lettler dur to recesion .

Conditions are worse if we go lower on college rankings. In my college personally, I saw maximum of 7LPA package (also not sure about it). It gets worse brother! Even computer science students are facing this 😮💨

For anyone who is thinking tht the person with crore's of package would be getting all the amount as said in the package is a huge misconception. At the placements companies give u a package which is ctc (cost to the company) which sounds amazing to listen 50lpa , 1cr, 2cr, and so on. But the in hand cash wt u gonna get on monthly basis is way too different. First there is tax on the total amount and then lot of deductions and after all tht the left is wt u get as salary. So anyone thinking paisa hi paisa hoga not actually.

A few tips: Stay away from all those things which can demotivate you. Being motivated in 11th is crucial. You need to retain your sanity if you want to do someone in 11th. Do not compare yourself to anyone and study at your own pace. You don't need to study 12 hours from the very Beginning. Start slowly and at your own pace you will slowly reach there. Pressuring yourself into studying will worsen your preparation so avoid doing that
I didn't qualify jee mains just by 0.1 percentile...but have a dream to get into IIT no matter what..if I would Have qualified I am confident enought that I would give my best shot in JEE Adv..so should I take a drop or go for BITSAT...any suggestions Tharun? please anna nee guidance important ippudu

I never wanted to do engineering, I had a great interested in History,Civics and geography and even i have had secured full 100 marks in every school exam or board exams. But I was forced to take science and prepare for iit jee not by anyone else but the impact of rumours. Which deviated me from my aim (the one which my heart wanted) i.e. UPSC. Anyways now i am in 12th and have completely wasted my 11th due to lack of interest and i have a dilemma now in choosing my career

the placement senario is almost same in IIT bhu . 4 student got placed in quant company with the highest package of 1.25cr (india) . but the fact the they only allow MnC and cse dept to sit in there placement . this year the placement senario was preety well in term term of average because dept like phamaceutical Engg(23.5lpa avg) , metallurgy(20lpa avg) , ceramic(21lpa avg), engg phy (25.5 avg) etc have average package more than 23lpa. here's the tricky part come that most of them got a revoke lettler dur to recesion .

This was needed after all that hype about crores packages from IIT Kharagpur...Anyways, I probably don't have to go through this headache after 4 years if I ever get to any IIT, because I will probably prepare for UPSC.
Conditions are worse if we go lower on college rankings. In my college personally, I saw maximum of 7LPA package (also not sure about it).

For anyone who is thinking tht the person with crore's of package would be getting all the amount as said in the package is a huge misconception. At the placements companies give u a package which is ctc (cost to the company) which sounds amazing to listen 50lpa , 1cr, 2cr, and so on. But the in hand cash wt u gonna get on monthly basis is way too different. First there is tax on the total amount and then lot of deductions and after all tht the left is wt u get as salary. So anyone thinking paisa hi paisa hoga not actually.

A few tips:
Stay away from all those things which can demotivate you. Being motivated in 11th is crucial. You need to retain your sanity if you want to do someone in 11th. Do not compare yourself to anyone and study at your own pace. You don't need to study 12 hours from the very Beginning. Start slowly and at your own pace you will slowly reach there. Pressuring yourself into studying will worsen your preparation so avoid doing that

I never wanted to do engineering, I had a great interested in History,Civics and geography and even i have had secured full 100 marks in every school exam or board exams.
But I was forced to take science and prepare for iit jee not by anyone else but the impact of rumours. Which deviated me from my aim (the one which my heart wanted) i.e. UPSC.
Anyways now i am in 12th and have completely wasted my 11th due to lack of interest and i have a dilemma now in choosing my career
