In my 50’s now, so happy I never parted with my cute antiques I collected over the years. You can always spray paint any item that is the wrong color, that stand would’ve looked nice in a lighter shade of gold. One of my neighbors tossed out a plant stand that was faded and tarnished, I cleaned it up and spray painted it and it’s gorgeous.
Oh. My. Gosh!! Toward the last of the video you have a picture above your curio cabinet of a man folding his hands praying. My great grandma had the exact same picture in her house!! Love it!!
It doesn’t take long for silver to patina here in maine😂I had one tray that I had polished and it wasn’t long before it was tarnished again😂

if you really like a piece of silver which has been polished, don't pass it up, just place it near a heat vent, fireplace, it will tarnish. You could even place it near on a shelf above a burning oil lamp.

Polished silver doesn't take long to tarnish. If you really like it you can wait a little while for it to tarnish

To tarnish just add lemon juice or vinegar to what you desire tarnished. Or stand it in a well used bathroom. Tarnish is merely oxidizing metals.
I always call those old photos Lost People. I often wonder about them and their life.
I wonder about their lives also! And if they were even kind people haha but at the end of the day it’s paper and I can make my own stories! 😂

Beautiful Eastlake chair in your guest room. Now Danielle you know that silver will tarnish again if it isn't re-polished. I thought you might get that red cloth bible that you picked up. I would have gotten it and that beautiful chair in the store. They had some pretty items.

The candle looks like one used in a church, it is filled with liquid wax/oil.
Hi Danielle, that's a chocolate pot. The spout on an older teapot is lower and generally has a perforated strainer inside to keep the loose tea leaves out of pouring into teacups. Chocolate pots are tall and their spout is at the rim.

Natural cleaning agents are the best! Some of the chemical agents make me hyper and sick feeling. If you get that book and find some great recipes, maybe you will share with us (I said maybe because I know how you are about sharing your snacks with your husband 😂). Those candle holders are very pretty!
Id still buy the silver, it doesn’t take long to tarnish. They had some good stuff.

Butane candle. I guess that’s lighter fluid of some sort. I don’t know how you fill them. My grandmother had a pair and I’m 73 years old, so do the math🧑🏼🦳.
The silver stuff gets tarnished quickly so why not buy them?
