  • In this series, we are going on a journey of testing out affordable watercolor brushes from around the world. Find the brush that best matches your paint brush needs! In this episode we test the Jackson Kite watercolor brush in round size 10.
We're going to test its water load, how they handle going up and down on paper, max brush width, belly drag, how thin a line it can do, painting leaf, snaking, wash, gradation, lift and dashes.

    Oto, you're a real gem.
I just love your way of testing and collecting data. It's so extremely useful!
I am not in the market for more brushes right now, but just knowing that this series will be here when I am, is so great.
This specific brush is definitely not for me, but knowing what not to buy is really important too.

Hello, Dr. Oto Kano! I just discovered your channel, as one of your salt experiment videos popped up on my feed. I loved the meticulous and comparison-based charts; well-planned and SO clearly communicated to your viewers. I hit “Subscribe with ALL notifications” so fast!
So, I have an observation that you have no obligation to answer. 😊 I’ve travelled extensively, I have friends all over. You have an intriguing, lilting beautiful accent I can’t quite place. There is a familiarity about it that makes me feel nostalgic, but I have actually never been to Asia (Japan? Are you from Japan? I’ve never heard a Japanese accent like yours.) I know its none of my business on CZcams. 🙈 I really just want to say, from someone who loves all of humanity, and with an interest in language and linguistics, your particular accent drew me in… as well as your ability to communicate straight to the point, without preamble (I should take notes✔️), and with highly valuable content for artists.

the idea you said at the end for collaborating with materials sounds really interesting. I hope someone tries it, or i could try it someday.

Definitely not worth the price in my opinion. For that much money I'd go with a casaneo or princeton elite.
