- Tractor Time with Tim was in Germany were visited a John Deere Dealership that only sells compact tractors (up to 50 HP). Compact Tractors are a little different in Europe. Frank from KVN describes the similarities and differences for the 1026R, 2036R, 3045R and 4066R. European compact tractors have some features that you would want here in the US.

Frank seemed like a great guy. Cool to see that 3 point set up.
Really cool to see all the diffences between the European and US models.
Very interesting showing ESO vs standards for US. for compact tractors. Kudos to Frank for his tour and humor as part of the informative presentation. Cheers!
Very enjoyable video. It was awesome to see the differences. I am so glad you got to stop by the dealership and show us. 👍👍👍👍👍
You really brought me back. What could be better! I spent 2 years in Nuremberg. Way before my tractor obsession. Loved it there. Thanks for the video.
HAHA!! The license plate on the 3045 says FÜ JD!! The plate wants to be on a Kubota... 😉
I literally laughed out loud about the 'edge' protector thing from the edge police.. LOL
You can thank the EU for that.
It's brought up by John Deere so the competitors had something to make what JD already knew about it was coming....
They have some interesting differences over there. Enjoyed the video. Thanks for taking the time to produce. Y'all take care and God bless.
I have a European John Deere 6300 with a 640A loader. It has the open spee balls on the lift arms. One thing that I really like is the 540/1000 pto is changed by a lever in the console. So the 6 spline pto shaft is not changed to the 21 spline shaft. I have a tiller and changing the pto rpm is nice from time to time.
I lived in Nuremberg and enjoyed the city quite a lot. I hope you get a chance to visit the old city and the castle it is a treat.
Great tour. Thanks for the trip.
Thanks Frank and Tim! Always wondered how and why they are different from our units. Would love to see the 2r cab and air ride seat come over the Atlantic!
Great video Tim and Kirsty. Germany are nice place to visit nice people. I am glad you and your family having fun in Germany
Nice to see that even with the difference in culture and language we can all find some common ground to talk about. Tim Marks UN Ambassador of tractors. Well done TTWT crew.
Thanks Frank for your time! Great Job Tim!
Awesome tour, Thanks for showing. Explain why the fender swivels on the tractor.
Great video! It was interesting to see the differences between the tractors and dealerships. That dealer appeared to be very neat and organized with his products and inventory. Thanks for sharing!
...and a tiny physical space!
Nice video Tim. Hope you and your family are enjoying your trip.👍🏻
Most of my needed JD subcompact info comes from you and your family’s videos. Thanks
I can hear Johnny calling y'all in northwest florida, he's saying you have been gone long enough yup😁😂🤣🤠
Nice video Tim... Katriel's real cold isn't she..
Just like i said.. love the tires. My flail collector is more flexible for less money lol
Loader work in Europe is more don with excavators
The 3-point front hitch and pto wil bring 170 pounds more at the front
That was great Tim! Neat to
See all the differences. Hope Katriel is doing well. Thanks for another video from your European vacation!
Keep on tractoring and God bless
Thanks Jon. Frank is brilliant, and does a great job with English. We really enjoyed this visit!
Tim the John Deere 3046R with cab and the top loader available with 54 inch blower with hydrostatic drive with skid loader coupler for attachments and hydraulics on the loader is my dream tractor for the last 4-5 years
Another great video from TTWT. I really liked looking at the ball hook up, would be very interesting to see it in action. Easy or harder
Love the video. Thanks for sharing this with everyone.
Great information. Wow, I do like some offerings they get in Europe and not in the USA. Have a great trip Tim and Christy! Not sure that spelling is right)
That guy is a wealth of knowledge. I dont know many here in the states that knows what he does.
We didn't scratch the surface of his knowledge. Remember, this is not his native language. He is a BRILLIANT man!
in here in Canada we have the option to get the front fenders I love mine on my 2038R. I do wish we could get a cab for the winters tho.
Tim Christi its great to see how the rest of them are world lives and works
Thank You
God Bless All
PaK
Thanks for the video it’s awesome to see likes and different options
I've watched before, but still enjoying watching this episode ♥️
I must say that I have always liked some of the options available to the Europeans that is not traditionally available in the USA. It seems to me that many of them were designed for ergonomics and safety to the operator. Thanks for showing them!
That 3pt set up is really cool.
I wonder how hot it really gets over there
Nicely done, Tim, Christy, and Frank! Love the built in three point hooks. Why is it so hard for makers here to get with it? I bought Pat's Easy Change, but would rather have it be part of the tractor. And the rubber molding on the hood edge because "you could hurt yourself"? Hmm....
Interesting video Tim! Thanks for sharing
Tim. I have the Mauser cab on my new 1025 R. Yes no Air but execelent heat and sound dampening.
self-leveling loaders are mandatory on all loaders in Australia too.
Interesting that Europe is concerned with hood/grill edge safety...and not concerned with dpf. Must be nice to not have the aftertreatment concerns.
I was amazed that very few FEL’s are sold. Quite a difference! Very interesting video!
Branson has a Self leveling loader on a sub compact. Thats huge with Forks.
I want this guys info, I Must have those spring loaded fenders!! Ken?? "Bolt on Fenders??" :)
Awesome video! Love seeing all the differences in products based on what country they're sold in. I have to ask though... this trip wasn't inspired by that little bug I put in your ear about the 2036r a while back, was it? I hope I didn't end up inadvertently costing you money by getting you so excited about it that you couldn't contain your excitement, lol.
Neat to see the similarities and differences between the European and North American John Deere models!
I learned alot here TIM. Awesome episode! Very Interesting!!!!!
Thanks for watching!
That was all very interesting. I would really like to see that quick hitch system here in the USA... and on my Kubota!
Those are nice tractors tim! You are traveling the world!
As a middle sized farmer in Europe, thanks for this clip. That tool-opened-bonnet was a thing I remarked in the newer machines we got but didn't got behind why they did it. Now I know.
Yea, kinda frustrating to us on this side of the pond. Probably you too!
@@TractorTimewithTim thanks for the respund. I don't take it tragical because you got a toolbox on every tractor (even your Johnny got one)
I lived near Nürnberg and we buy all of our tractors there. Nice Service! 👍
Great to hear! Thanks for your comment!
Enjoyable video and thanks for the laugh, "cheeseburger challenged body" LOL
Thanks for the video. Looks a little warm over there right now LOL hope you have a great afternoon
Erm, some of those parts on the JD are on the website.
Specifically the 3pt and fenders.
Awesome Tim, just awesome. I want a front 3-pnt on my 1025r as I’m not a fan of the quick hitch. Thanks for sharing. Oh I also wanted to let you know that your videos help my flights seem shorter. I live in Michigan and work in San Diego. That’s about 10 hours a week on a plane. Longer videos please🤪
Oh my! I’m afraid we can’t keep you occupied for 10 hours/week. ....you’ll have to watch reruns!
Tractor Time with Tim, I have a few others I enjoy but, I’m sure you know based on previous comments that your channel is my favorite. I am on a flight now over New Mexico.
Good job Tim at Metric conversions and Euro conversions..
Thanks Mike. We had been to two farms, and met some other viewers/sponsors by this time. I was getting better at it :-)
Nice Job Tim!!
Lots of differences and that 2036R looks like a nice size. The radial tire looks like the best of both worlds. The engine to seem louder.
Great to see that Rear 3pth set up, JD should make that available for us.
sadly they can't becuase of saftey laws
Great videos very helpful
Keep it up !!!!
Awesome. I love the front 3pt
We got the front fenders on our 2038r at our dealer in Iowa. I want the air ride seat for it now. I was told it wasn’t available.
That rear 3 point demo you showed looks like the same one on the ls-xp8101cps. Which is better then? Ball left on Implements or in hitch the way we do it?
The 3 point set up is pretty cool
Great show!
Hallo i hope you enjoy the time in germany so there are some difrent things here and i think whith your videos we can learn from eachother so keep on whit your work
Thanks for watching. Michael!
@@TractorTimewithTim always my pleasure
Our Olivers sort of had the same concept for the 3 point arms.
From an old Oliver family I was thinking the same thing.
So informative and interesting. Great job! Inspires so many questions..
1) Why all the focus on road driving over there? Is it because they’re marketed mostly for municipalities?
2) Is the rear 3-point ball set-up superior to what we have in the US? If so, why don’t we use the same set-up?
3) If the radial tires are the best balance of traction without turf tear up, any idea why the US doesn’t use them?
4) What are the advantages and disadvantages of the front mount 3-point vs. quick hitch?
5) Finally, if you could create your perfect hybrid tractor of US features and German features, what would you go with?
1) yes
2) yes, dunno why we don’t have them. Oliver did as early as 1960 or so...until the late 70’s
3) the Radials are offered on the large frame 2r in USA
4) answered by Frank in video l think pretty well.
5). I’ll leave that to the viewer
Did you happen to look at what the difference of the seat was that made it more comfortable compared to ours on the one series?
Very cool Tim!
That was fun to watch! My next stop would be the Volkswagen Museum:-)
Never thought about that!
Happy New Year to your tractor time with Tim happy New Year what is your New Year resolution for 2019 while y'all playing some bowl for 2019 why are y'all planning on doing with the 2019 tractor and y'all on track that y'all got where are y'all doing y'all doing a lot of yard work for the 2019 tractors and all the other features that y'all have.
It’s very common to have tractors running down the roads in Europe where as in North America.... not so much ... but I do love the Front hitch system ... another European bonus .... it’s amazing how companies make machines for different markets and they have all kinds of reasons they don’t bring certain features/systems into North America ... I think laws and lawyers have a lot to do with it.
Its much smaller distance in Europe so it's faster to drive on the road than to load it on a trailer... even the big tractors are almost always equip with a front 3-point hitch..
LOL...speak for yourself Tim, but here in SW ID, that cab would be a death trap in the summer without A/C, that's why I don't have one. I sure do wish JD would bring some of those options here in the US.
Tractor time with Tim I want you to do a live review please do a review on that that 2055 e John Deere tractor.
Another great video 👍 thank you
Very nice really enjoyed that!!
The balls on the 3 point hitch are like what my old 1550 Oliver uses. With the gear drive 3D series, are we going back in time to a simpler time?
Your exact answer for how much the leaf collection system cost over here in the USA is $6791.70 with is 6000 euros
The European 3 point hitch is so much better than what we have in the USA great video.
Nice video Tim 👍👍
Think its got be one of your best John Deere video's. Are you guys still in Germany? If so should visit the Mannheim John Deere factory! Almost looks like a Pat's quick hitch.
It wasn’t open for tours in Feb
Wish we could get front fenders for the 1 series in the states
Is y'all going to be doing a lot of fields for 2019.
Great video!
Please show me all the features of the 2036r John Deere tractor for 2019 and I want to know about the GoPro camera.
like the vid, cool too see different things:)
Please tell me about the features in the 2036r John Deere tractor for 2019.
Neat video. Thank you.
I want the hitch setup. Kinda like the pats system iirc
Really enjoyed your video. The Germans have some good accessories.
I tend to find you get the stuff in the states a few years later in the uk and vice versa
Very educational video to see how the laws are different in other country's
Doesn't Vinnie have that grass collection system rv602 that will raise 60",It kinda looked like the John Deere one was a little bigger though. Pretty neat Idea.
I don’t have one for my Vinnie, so I have not studied the Ventrac collection system.
I guess I should take a look!
Hi Tim and Christy great video Tim you make a great John Deere ambassador any plains to come to the emerald isle
Might be an interesting side trip when we visit Christy's parents in Williamston/Washington.
When I was 11 years old in the late summer of 1978 my parents and I went on a Europe farm tour in which we saw castles, churches, farms and took a one day trip down the Rhine River. One of our stops was a John Deere factory tour as they were working building tractors. I remember they had square cabs for tractors going to one country which mandated an escape hatch out of the top. At one point one assembly line guy whistles to me to come over and I didn’t understand a thing he said but he grabbed a handful of hot oily wet ball bearings and put them in my hands. I didn’t know what to do and put them in my front pocket and the hot oil went through the pocket liner and onto my skin burning my leg skin. Of course my mom was upset that my pants were stained. I think my leg healed up within a few days.
Our tour was Britain, Holland, France, Germany, Switzerland, Lichtenstein and Austria. I was the only person in the group under 25 years old and several people in the group would come up to hug me because they missed their children or grandchildren. A few people came to visit our dairy farm north of Grand Meadow Minnesota after the trip.
Great memories.
Does John Deere offer partial financing if I wanted to buy a new 1023 with deck and snowblower? I have older Toro garden tractors and a Dixie Chopper ZTR. If I sold everything I could probably come up with $6,000 to $8,000 or more. I’m getting older and I live with chronic Lyme disease and having something new would make my life easier.
Yes. They will finance however much you want to finance....at zero percent.
Thanks Tim I think Oliver used that quick hookup hitch, my dad's 1755 had it.
I ordered the 3 point front for my 2038r but am worried where to hang the front waits now ,I don't want the 66" blade on there all summer when tilling or mowing.
Any suggestions Tim ?
Take the 3! Point off during the summer.
Yes, Olivers has this 3 pt approach. Wonder why it didn’t catch on?
Make a braked for it or maybe a Heavy hitch mount..
I was planning on using my 59" snow blower attachment for the snow ,the 66" blade is for dirt ,tilling and leveling trails, buck patches and maybe using the tractor for pulling a hay wagon or hay rake . But when I have the brush hog on the back I would like more weight for turning and pulling up hill with out a big blade on the front .
Do you think that heavy hitch weight bar for the back would fit up front ?
I could weld extra brackets to change it from a class-1 to a class-0 I guess.
I think I will use it to much to take the 3 point off.
@@OLIVER_1969 I think there are some interesting possibilities there. There is a category 0 heavy hitch. ...but I'm not sure it actually accepts weights.
Good video Tim
Tim go do some research on John Deere and Oliver tractors, John Deere used the ball and hook o the top link of there 3-point for years. And Oliver used them on all 3 connection points on there 3-point.
Grew up with Oliver’s. Very familiar
Great video. Really like those European deers
sold my x738 and moved to fla. nice tractor.
I think some tractor makers are starting to figure out that its easier to put some of the safety items and emissions items on to make one tractor instead of a few different versions to save money on production cost
I am not a Deer guy but I enjoyed this... Can you do something like this for Kubota/Yanmar?
Also, my sister and her family lives in Nurnberg, if you need people to hang out with,.. 😀
I wonder.. can those rear 3 point assemblies be retrofit onto our current tractors here in the USA and if so, anyone know where to buy them? That is a pretty slick idea and would eliminate the pain of having to attach the quick release back there.
yes its possible. yoou have to cut off yours and weld something like this onto the arms: www.amazon.de/DEMA-Unterlenker-Fanghaken-Kat-universal/dp/B016OVW5HY/ref=sr_1_3?__mk_de_DE=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&keywords=kat+1+unterlenker&qid=1564587140&s=gateway&sr=8-3
thats the way its done here, if tractores dont have them.
Greetings from bavaria
You can buy them readily in the UK. They are a complete set of arms so you just swap them over along with the top link
Thanks for this video, once again i hope you enjoyed your time in germany. :) One question:does this dealer sell lawnmowers (X100) series?
Yes
@@TractorTimewithTim if you saw a X166R (or the similar X146R,X116R) These are the followers of my 2012 X155R that is my toy that I show at GTT with all its attachments. :) how did you like them (just the looks of it)
