It is pretty spacious for Tokyo standards indeed I think! Yes especially happy with the kitchen 🙂 I found it with the help of a housing agency!

The thing is that I got help from an agency that introduces apartments for employees under corporate companies. The criteria were that I have a VISA and a guarantor for example.
There are many types of agencies that you can choose from. If you have a specific neighborhood you wanna live in, then you can visit a local real estate agency, or you can also look online!

I just want to say thank you for this video. I'm moving to Tokyo on this month, 18th (currently I'm living in Kanagawa) and this video help me a lot!!! I saw the same refrigerator (on Amazon) that you bought but I was not sure about it. After seeing it in your video, now I decide to buy it. Plus, I've learned some Japanese words that you said that I didn't know. About the Washing Machine, is it too loud? I also saw the same model on Amazon but some reviews was not good... Thank you so much! 💖 how cool! It depends on your interest and what you can do~! You can speak Japanese? Or are you looking for an English speaking job? The options for a job will change based on that I think 😌
When you came to Japan for your exchange, what was your level of Japanese? And what level do you recommend me to have before i come? Also really good video!!
My level of Japanese was higher than average/close to advanced when I did my exchange! For my master exchange at Waseda University I needed to have the JLPT N1. But that was because I took content courses like sociology in Japanese.
If you’re main study purpose to go on exchange is for Japanese language, you can of course start from beginner level! Every level is fine.

I always put aside a certain amount every month, and during my exchange in Japan I also did part-time jobs! Makes money and it was such a good experience. sorry maybe not the most unique answer, hope this helps 😊
@@ninamaku Thank you!! I have been setting aside a few dollars every few days. I have been pretty busy with cheer and band practices but the small amount of money does add up to quite a bit after awhile.

Greetings! Long story short, my occupation allows me to work just about anywhere & I've always wanted to experience Japan while I'm young & able. I just don't know how to go about it and began getting realistic about my move as of early May. I've narrowed it down to Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto but I'm open to other cities. I'm a young professional in my 20s & I'm just trying to gather as much information so I can take the appropriate steps to make this move possible by the end of the year God willing. Tokyo currently has an "emergency statement" which means that people are asked to don't go to far or go outside if it's not needed. Restaurants and cafes are still open but till 8pm, but big department stores are closed for now.

Hey the monthly rent is around 1000 US dollars and all the home appliances like fridge etc were not included 🙈 most houses in Japan are empty when you move in

Do the apartments not come with washing machine and refrigerator?
No unfortunately all apartments in Tokyo are totally empty. People all their stuff with them and move everything 🤣
there are some furnished rental but it seems japanese people prefer to bring their own beds. uni students or businessmen would chose them. second hands ones are also available.

Unfortunately at this time a lot of people were not aware of how bad the virus was... this was filmed at the end of February 2020 so the virus did not really hit Japan yet.
That’s why you see very few people wearing masks. Now everyone is wearing a mask here!
