      That was a great layout to really test out the udr and have a ton of fun with it. Now with the Hyrax tires it would be a whole new experience at the track with much more grip

      Ultra R/C Hobbies, have to figure out a way to fit a late model class stock car into the track somehow. Way more exciting to see those trucks racing and flying through the air on the back stretch!

    They definitely need new tire options for the UDR. I'm quite surprised nobody has made some yet. These trucks are fun as heck on a track cause of their speed and suspension. It's just the tires weight so much and impede track performance of the truck. I know this since i race mine at a track with many jumps made for 1/8th scale buggies.

    • @ultrarchobbies
      @ultrarchobbies  Před 5 lety +1

    • @ultrarchobbies
      @ultrarchobbies  Před 5 lety +1

      Chris Watson thanks for watching. The UDR with the stock shock oil and stock springs is quite soft in the rear. It is a little over exaggerated compared to the full sized counter parts but with a little bit different shock oils in the rear helper shocks and sprung shocks it’s a way different truck!
      If you watch our latest UDR video in this link Chris has played around quite a bit with shock oils.

      @ultrarchobbies  Před 5 lety +2

      Yeah Chris also has the UDR and we have done some crazy stuff with them! They take a little getting used to how to drive them as they can be a handful and sometimes frustrating with the traction rolls at slow speeds. Yeah find a nice loose dirt track and go have a blast! Thank you for tuning all the way from Florida and giving this video a comment we really appreciate the support!

  • @jalee6587
    @jalee6587 Před 5 lety +2

    The udr is too top heavy . It flips over way too easily. I bought one and if i turn going over 10mph it flips multiple times. I feel the roll cage and spare tires add to the top heavy part.

    • @ultrarchobbies
      @ultrarchobbies  Před 5 lety

      Ja Lee we would have to agree and found it doesn’t like sideways and bumps. Rolls super fast

    • @Pb_Slinger
      @Pb_Slinger Před 5 lety +2

      It’s the locked rear axle. The truck is designed to fish tail and power through loose dirt. What you are experiencing is “traction roll” from the locked rear dif. If you want to run on high traction surfaces you have to convert to a limited slip differential in the rear axle.

    • @ultrarchobbies
      @ultrarchobbies  Před 5 lety +1

      Ben agreed! Little of tuning and this truck is awesome! Changing the spring rates around also helped a huge amount as well!

    • @Pb_Slinger
      @Pb_Slinger Před 5 lety

      Guys are using the same parts from the center diff to convert the rear to a limited slip differential. It’s not hard, but you may have to shorten the splined ends of both rear axle half shafts to correct the end play.

    • @cwatson42785
      @cwatson42785 Před 5 lety +1

      Yeah it seems line every udr video I watch the common theme is it rolling over violently. But Ben did a great job explaining why.
