This would not be a top 10 hit in the Hot 100 in the 90’s, people who don’t understand english/kids who can’t comprehend lyrics yet can’t bump this. This Royce song and album is still popular among hip hop heads which is great considering he’s not young and while rap is not 100% a young man’s game, from a commercial standpoint it kind of is

Robert Hall are there mainstream lyricists yes, but when their songs chart high it’s cause the song is accessible and has a pop-ish element to it. Kendrick’s biggest song commercially is Humble for that very reason. Not saying every song on the Hot 100 is wack, I fucks with Humble but Hot 100 is more business than anything
