- Thoughts on Bellamy's character from when he was first introduced at Jaya to the changes he goes through when we meet him at Dressrosa? What is a way he could reappear to help out the Grand Fleet later on in the story?

Bellamy's fruit is honestly underrated. I mean, technically with enough practice he could recreate almost all of Luffy's abilities. He couldn't pull off Gear 3rd, and while he couldn't assume Gear 4th forms, things like Snakeman attacks or Kong Guns could definitely be replicated with springs.
I feel like that shows how creative and innovative Luffy is with his fruit, because he has so many adversaries like Buggy and Katakuri with similar powers, but finds new and unknown ways to harness his powers. On that note, I would love that since Luffy got that Observation boost from Katakuri, I would love for Katakuri to gain some kind of Gear power from Luffy.

Gear 2 probably doesn't work with springs, his body is not made of rubber, the pressure inside Luffy's body is supposed to be inhumanly strong (can he even pump his blood with the springs?).
The issue with Gear 4 snake attacks, it's that no explanation has been given for how they work, so we just would have to assume that they can be replicated by springs, so not "definitely"
Given recent revelations, the reason Luffy can do that may be clearly outside of the capabilities of Bellamy's fruit.

Not wrong but they also do it for excitement to and is also a form of communication during a hunt. Actually spotted hyena hunt more then they scavenge. I actually did alot of research on hyenas before.

I actually liked Bellamy in the Jaya arc. He’s a reminder of how real/usual pirates behave, but also not an over the top villain like Crocodile, Arlong, or Mr 3. For me, whenever I think which One Piece is a stereotypical pirate, I think of Bellamy.
I'm surprised Tekking keeps mistaking NAMI for Sanji when he talks about Jaya scenes lol

Bellamy is an antagonist towards dreams, the core theme of One Piece.
However by Dressrosa he has his own dream that he follows to a fault showing how pursuing dreams regardless of what people around you tell can be a detriment which I absolutely loved about his character. His dream of course to become a part of the Donquixote Family that Luffy in that arc has to shatter
I am glad Oda didn't give him the sad backstory as that just wouldn't really suit him. Belemy is the kind of person from a pretty good background. Not nobility but like upper middle class. He thinks he knows how the world works but really he's just incredibly closed minded and he cares more about proving he's cool than actually being it.
Being one shot by Luffy kind of forced him to grow up. In Jaya even though he was 26 he pretty much was still a teenager.

Bellamy is honestly one of my favorites. He was weak, he got his ass kicked all the time. But he always was true to his choices he made. Stuck to his word, even though it killed him. Hes the one I want on my crew.
Also he kind of is the story of a teenager who refused to grow up.

Speaking of Bellamy, the Dressrosa dub has just kicked in and I am hyped as hell. Haven’t been this excited since I heard Skypiea was being dubbed and I could listen to my boy Hotori is crisp, clean english!

Hehe at first I was suprised that Bellamy's voice actor was still the same since it's been almost two decades since Skypeia was dubbed, but then I remembered that this actor voices Eustace Kidd too so it's not too suprsing.

Same here! We see how he brought the gold to Doflamingo in a Dressrosa flashback. However, I was under the impression he may have beaten/killed/stole it....I guess that’s why Luffy kinda freaked when Bellamy told him.

Seriously, Bellemy is squandering his potential. His power is basically luffy's tuned exclusively for offense. He can do everything luffy can do without the downside of needing to wind up. Bellemy can do everything gear four luffy can do IN HIS BASE FORM. Imagine if he had the inginuity to turn his muscles into springs.

I’m glad that you finally decided to do a discussion video about Bellamy. Cause to me he’s a overlooked character and I’m glad that Oda decided to bring him back. When Bellamy said to Luffy in Dressrosa that he was done picking on him, I believed it cause he really went to Skypiea and in his mind, he’s was pretty much saying “Straw Hat was telling the truth after all. I shouldn’t have bullied and picked on him.” I have a feeling that Oda may bring him back once more in the future, cause he really grew on me towards the end of Dressrosa.

Fun fact: A hyena's laugh is a natural stress response sound. Meaning they make that sound that is referred to as a "laugh" when in situations in the wild that involves high stress or danger. Like when up against a lion or even other hyena's.

I thought that this current arc would have been the perfect place for the Grandfleet to show up.
I really like that Bellamy was introduced as a one note generic idiotic villain and Oda brought him back over a decade later and gave him depth and an interesting arc. He didn't have to, nobody would've questioned where Bellamy was, but he did and I really appreciate that Oda gives secondary characters compelling stories.

In the D&D group i DM for our current campaign is based in an age of sail setting, they just defeated a boss that lead a group of Were-Hyena Highwaymen; he was basically a mix of Bellamy and The Joker.

Didn't Bellamy's crew die on the way to skypeia, there were two routes, the knock up stream and some other trail where only one or two ppl, that's why the old man of lamancha commented that no one has used the knock up stream since basically rodger

I still think Bellamy would of been a bigger threat if he was a six powers master. Imagine using moon walk combine with his spring spring powers, could literally be the faster character around. Or combining tempest kick with a spring kick it could stretch to be huge.

idk why but I always liked bellamy, it was a mystery even to me since he's such a loser and asshole in jaya, I guess I just liked his design? And I thought him being a loser like that led to some really cool scenes. I never believed he would actually come back to the story even tho I didn't think he was dead, but man was I happy when oda brought him back and gave him some redemption.
