    Love the channel. Just ordered my first drift car, a D5MR. Figuring out what to equip it with and your channel is a great source for that!

      Awesome choice for chassis - and glad I could help. Let me knownif you have any specific questions.

    put a 40g weight as far back as you possibly can, you added what you needed and you added it where you wanted it. ezpz

    Troy, I think Super G updated their weight to 1350g to be in line with RCDC 2023 rules. Could be wrong but Yokomo has some of the All Japan Drift rule changes on their channel too, most of which are implemented by Super G.

      Minimum weight is still 1300g per the 2024 SDC rule book

    My favourite topic!
    Move back to 540 size motor and larger battery pack should allow you to increase the overall weight without adding items on to it 👍🏻

      You are right!
      More - I want to find ways to keep removing weight from the front as well. Increase total rear balance.
      I am looking now as well to improve slow-speed traction.

      By slow speed traction I assume you mean corner exit speed. That is the hardest spot to see gain.
      Some tuning to mess with for exit speed is
      FDR,
      Rear roll center and how that relates to static camber and camber change when the car rolls/squats,
      Anti-squat geometry ( can be achieved with shimming up the front rear toe block, moving the rear arms forward in the toe block, messing with driveshaft angle)

    Get some sticky wheel weights to add a little weight and put it behind the rear axle. My RMX 2.0 is 67% rear bias static. I’ve got a lot of weight transfer in my car due to my setup. Under throttle I’ll bet I’m right around 75% rear bias.

      @RoadsideRC  Před 7 měsíci

      Interesting!
      I'm going to try hard to avoid adding weight - but seems like I am going to have to in order to make the minimum weights for comp!

    Mine is 32F 68R and 1500 grams but i prefer the heavier car i like the feel and how my wieght transfers. I beleive its all about how u tune your car not so much how much the car weight is

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  Před 7 měsíci

      It is worth pointing out that over this WIDE weight range...the total difference was only a few tenths of a second....which is not a lot.
      Now driver vs driver. Total tune vs total tune. Those will make a HUGE difference.

    What I’m really curious about, if anyone has ever balanced their cars from left to right. I’ve never seen anyone talk about that.
    Once you have the front to back ratio, balancing both sides would make the car a little heavier, yes, but you should have a more balanced overall driving experience.

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  Před měsícem

      I have messed with it a little bit. Never added weight, but focused on shifting what was there instead.
      Adding weight never improves performance vs removing.

    • @autofctrl
      @autofctrl Před měsícem

      @@RoadsideRC I figured that after watching your Video, but once you have shifted what can be shifted and reduced what could be reduced and still have it unbalanced, the only option would be to add weight on the lighter side.
      I almost have all my stuff together and I'm platting on balancing the car in such way that its not more than 2g difference between each side.
      I'll let you know when I've come that far. Actually thinking about creating a Channel to showcase my ideas and attempts... no yet sure though... ^^

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  Před měsícem

      @autofctrl Depending on the chassis, I have been able to move the battery from one side to another a little.
      Also, a little extra pre-load on a side will push the balance to the other side as well.
      My base assumption with this stuff: if it drives good - then it is good.
