@@gunblade9 i think that in this case they shut up to listen the performance, it happens to me sometimes in some gig, I just shut up to listen the music as it comes
I hope we get a studio version of this cover because this was amazing in every way imaginable and Vessel’s voice as well as the choir just gave a new light to this song as well.
Not only that but I think he genuinely tears up a lot in his performances. It might be part of why he chose the masked band route. He is actually so emotionally affected by it that most of the crying sounds probably aren’t performance. I don’t blame him. I cry half the time I hear certain parts of their songs lol
Her voice is beautiful alone, as is his of course, but holy he'll when they weave together its ethereal and magical. Even just artistically that's superfluously intimate.
Sometimes he sounds so...grounded, yet emotional. Like the way sounds are in a cave. Big and deep like a cello, but a lovely emotional echoing distortion. Sometimes as the soft whisper of a breeze moving through the cave, other times is the big echo that surrounds you and only seems to get bigger.
I wasn’t at this show but I experienced it all via CZcams uploads. If there was one show I would’ve sacrificed a limb for it would’ve been this one. The audible crowd gasp when the crowd realized what song it was is such a compliment to vessel’s approach to his set list.
Yeah, it feels a lot like Buckley's version in certain ways. I have a feeling that Vessel probably likes Jeff Buckley, as they share a similar quality of voice and emotion. Also one of my favorite musicians
I can't help but cry to this. I feel vessels pain and i can relate to it on so many levels. This band has given me so much strength at an extremely difficult time in life. I love them!!! L And A if you ever read this, you know who you are.... The rest of the band too, honestly it's such a perfect experience for me, i think I'm living a very similar life to these albums which is hard to explain but i think alot of people understand what I'm saying. As a fan of Leonard Cohen's version of Hallelujah, hearing Vessel cover it really brings a wondferful weight and somberness to it that I love. I'm a die hard ST fan, and I think Vessel's voice is one of the most melodic, beautiful voices in the industry. He so beautifully carries Cohen's disparaged, yet almost hopeful tone to this song... which was unique to Cohen up until now. I love this version and I really dearly hope we get a clear audio version of it!
I come back to this video a lot, man. It was truly a dream being there. I have never felt so emotionally destroyed from a single event. I dearly hope we can get an official cover from them in the future because I cherish this version so much and am so thankful I could witness it in person.
Knowing what Cohen said, This song is a bitter lament about love and loss. It simply taps the human condition described in the bible in order to provide counsel to the broken-hearted. Well that melts my heart even more
I think I’ve watched this 10 times in the past 2 hours and have been a sobbing mess the entire time. I had only seen a small clip of this video before tonight and I cant get over it. The female singer is so incredible I can’t get over it. Vessel’s raw emotions coming through made it so special. I would have traded my soul to be at this show. I won’t be recovering from this for a while.
I can't with this man. I cannot. Just ... absolute perfection. An actual Earth Angel, blessing all of us with his voice and talent. Thank the Heavens for this man. WORSHIP 🙌🏻🙌🏻

I believe it's Gemma as well but I haven't really heard the girl from the other band but I know they used to play at the same show exploring birdsong used to open for sleep token in the early days
Here from the charismatic voice with Will Ramos from Lorna Shore... Thank you for this video. I've cry all my tears on this song, and I rediscover it. Thanks a lot. Really, thanks a lot.
Other times the guitar is like the soft gentle lap of the rivers on a stony beach and his voice is the current at the center deepest point of the river.
That just gives me one more reason to believe that this is Gemma because I think she sounds allot like the girl from the civil wars and she does a cover of a civil wars song on her CZcams channel 🤤
Its funny i was just thinking the other day that his voice would be perfect for this song, i just randomly came across this and safe to say I was right
the female voicce sounds similar but its been 8 years since they last released a song, and i speculate that they've had a falling out so I wouldn't be surprised if it was someone else
@@nadeatoms you could be right. I always thought you could just tell that he unintentionally overpowered her on every song and he was just meant for these big things. And she is quite suited to the background singer role.
@@ripit.3457 lmfao I am in fact a lizard but I meant more because it’s a religious song and I don’t really vibe with it but when Vessel does it it’s a different type of religion.
@@SmellFX yeah I just re read the lyrics, I honestly never paid too much mind to it I guess I just blocked out the overtly sexual lines? I’m also the type of person who needs to read the lyrics at least once to know what the fuck is going on.
Didn’t know st covered this until now. The cover seems nice as a one off emotionally moving event experience but I have to say I’m not a full fan of st covers (the Billie Eilish & Whitney Houston ones; Hey Ya is a surprising, more interesting one I can appreciate since it’s stylistically such a 180). Not sure about the crowd reaction especially in the beginning and laughing/chatting in the middle, but I doubt the crowd could handle the longer 6 to nearly 8 minute versions between Jeff Buckley and Leonard Cohen. This was a long 4 minutes. Of course I am only comparing st covers to st originals which have a fuller impact than their covers (which aren’t bad but I love their originals so much better). But I suppose covers are a nice way to display eclectic range? Covers that make you think of the song differently at least…this sounds a bit too close to Jeff Buckley’s whom I’ve compared the essence of st original songs to before seeing this cover. But nice to see the inspiration of JB confirmed.
dude this is good. just let it be good without tearing it to shreds in some weird cross examination. yes Leonards original lyrical masterpiece is tired and suffers from overexposure and too many covers. but this is exceptional. doesn't need to be put under a microscope.
I can't blame the audience, but I have also never wanted an audience to shut up so bad for a live recording. Thank you for sharing. Worship
I can understand that for sure, though I think moments like these have their own beauty to them. The Woos mid hallelujah arent great though. Worship.
