They sounded like this baby, and it is still one of the most relaxing sounds in the modern world. Also, love the leaves blowing in its 'draught'. Nice one Tex!
I used to like to do the same thing, sit by an outdoor A/C unit and feel the warm air, as well as the noise, when I go to bed at night, I like to have something that makes a gentle soothing hum to put me to sleep :)

"GET AWAY FROM THERE! You are gonna get legionnaires disease!" I had my tonsils out when I was 30 which was a horrible nightmare. I went back home to stay while I recovered. Again, I would go sit out there. The warm air felt good on the back of my neck and would help soothe some of the pain and the sound would lull me to sleep.

My family have no respect when I'm trying to sleep. They're unbelievably loud. Plus I have a Degu, who loves to run on his wheel, or chew on his cage all night long. I usually have to sleep with my earphones in every night. The pain of doing so, is worth it because of the great sleep I have listening to vacuums/hair dryers/running showers... This is by far my favourite. I've stuck it on my phone and its number one for me to listen to whilst drifting off to sleep. Thank you for this

Snuggling down, the sentinel's roar is warm on my skin. I am not afraid of the rain thanks to the Magic Chef, the god of the backyard.

I like the sounds of nature too, but come on, what is more pleasant than industrial ambience? doesn't sound to enticing.. but it reminds me of when I was a child. I had to go to bed early alot because my parents thought I needed lots of sleep to grow, so in the time I was awake, I listened to the humidifiers and air conditioners alike and they're simple unchanging tones became magic to me. So mysteriously comforting and blocking out all outside intrusions whatsoever...^ ^

They'd a Distinctive & Very Robust "Galloping Sound"..."Gall-LUMP!!! Gall-LUMP!!! Gall-LUMP!!!" One Dude had a huge Fan with a five or six foot blade in his Basement. It was relatively quiet, but you could feel the huge air movement. I'd have loved sitting by it, but it only ran briefly, when showing off his home. RVM45

No you are not! I have to carry a fan with me if I go on vacation or to a conference. Mine started because my Dad worked 3rd shift and would wake us all up slamming and banging things and turning every light in the house on. Mother put a fan in my bedroom to drown out his noise.

I love sitting by these when I was a kid . Blowing warm air out and the sound is what I sit by it for .
