You my friend are absolutely correct in regards to cloning! There are lots of configurations due to individual unit non standard procurement. Did you have to do anything to the bolt such as exchanging the extractor pin? Great video!

I enjoy the clone videos. How do you like the eotech? I like the sights but I don't want to pay so much for them since the army lawsuit. I have heard 10.5" barrels aren't reliable unless they have been suppressed. Im curious to hear reports on your 10.3" barrel. I am waiting on a stamp for an sbr as well. Mine is mark 18 mod 0 inspired. However I will be changing some things such as the hand guard. For the price and availability, i am going to use the Larue tactical 7" quad rail. Are you going to do any load development and accuracy testing? I am excited to see your build and shooting videos of your mk18.
Rockstar6111 Mine is factory built complete upper and lower and has been 100 percent reliable suppressed and un-suppressed. I think some of the cases of them not being reliable is gas port sizes. Heard different things tho but mines been great so far. Very accurate too Shorter barrel helps with having very minimal barrel flex

I'm asking because I'm submitting an ATF Form 1 application for an SBR on doing a build similar to yours with the Geissle rail and the the "same" Surefire 3 or 4-prong flash suppressor (for future suppressor attachment purchase) and B5 buttstock. I just need to know what the full length measurement of yours is so that I know what to write in box 'F' on the ATF Form 1 application for an SBR manufacture. Thank you for your help!
Can you have all the parts for an SBR (Unassembled) before filling out a form 1 or have the tax stamp approve? I read somewhere that you cannot do anything until your form 1 and tax stamp comes back approved.
Should have went Daniel defense fixed front sight post instead of the KAC flip up sight . Besides that awesome build now you just need a PEQ-15 to complete it
So you're a kid that never served in the US armed forces like some of us over 20+ year vets and copying our duty issued guns? They are great but us vets buy totally different firearms for sport and drills at our local range. How many teens/college kids do this? We run a Colt LE6945CK, DDMK18, POF pistol, Noveske pistol. You name it. Us older vets go with magnification because Eotechs really don't work for us anymore. TA11s are king because we love eye relief. Other than that observation, good vid.
Chris why are you so taken back by someone building a copy of a firearm created for a specific group of elite soldiers? Do you react the same way when someone clones a basic M4 or M16A2? And yes cloning is a huge industry and tons of people who’ve never been in the military take part in it. You served in that military to protect this man’s right to build this copy, it’s his pursuit of happiness. There’s no need to try to talk down someone for building what he wants because the way you view which firearms should be used at a range is different than what he views them as.

I'd go by what the wiki says on the Mk18
I just put in 26" that was the total length with the sopmod stock collapsed and the DD muzzle device.

Check out constructive intent. I believe if you have a pistol lower or maybe even a pistol buffer tube you would be ok.

I feel they are as well. They’re great, but you’re paying for the name it seems to me.
Never mind that a socom mk18 has a Colt lower, barrel, ch, bcg, lower parts kit, etc.only thing DD is the RISII in FDE.

You can buy a danieldefence rail from airsoft websites or airsoft walk-in stores.
