It’s literally illegal to be an influencer and talk bad about Dubai while in Dubai so of course you love it
From the video I watched before this one it's a dump! All appearance without substance. Thailand man, even Bangkok is a dream by comparison. Low taxes as well with everything everything way cheaper and would work out much cheaper even including the taxes man. And no car necessary. :-)
Everyone, including the "models" working as hookers love the place but it is a façade and one wrong move and you are in a world of shit.
Take the oil away and let these people get back to running around the desert.
this place is for people with money, plain and simple. If you have a good salary or have lots of money, this place is damn near paradise. But only for the capitalist at heart. If you're worried about human rights and inequalities etc, you won't like it. But then again Dubai isn't targeting you, they want people with money.
hahaha in your face, Mike Thurston
He can not talk about it at all tho, but all he says is true i came to Dubai from Germany as tourist and i ended up living here, its cool that you dont like it because the country is saturated, you will only make the rent higher to us
Only rich people and those high earning people are enjoying and living Dubai. But for those people who works in labor industry having bad employers with poor salary they don't enjoy. This is the honest review.
He kinda skirted around this
You can say that about any city
That’s valid for any country in the world
Lies again? Doctor Ugly Bachelor Of Arts
The wealth distribution in Dubai is much worse than other countries
Remember kids, being an influencer who lives in Dubai you have to sign a contract. That explains why him, Iman and others like him never have any negatives.
These are Dubai newbies :) I lived there WAY too long and have seen many seasonal influencers come and go, so by no means I am taking any of their sides BUT the fact is, there is very little negetive to say about Dubai. And I say this being unbiased. I disliked many things too but when you compare those "problems" to any other country or city in the world, they are almost neglegible.
@@MustafaSheikh I’ve lived there. Dubai is very overrated. A lot is hidden I’d rather live in my small Virginia town that ever live there.
yeah you can't have a bad review about dubai unless your already out and safe
Yeah obviously he’s bought like all of them and ofc 100% Dubai shill. Dubai is ok for a couple of days but living there is straight up insane unless you run a business or you are a Dubai shill like Mike. Everything is totally superficial, no real character, no history, no values no nothing, only infinite heat. Only super flashy and pretty much every woman over there is a prostitute 😭
It's crazy how delusional the people in the comments are aswell. Everyone's acting like the city isnt build on slaves and corruption. Really tells a lot about the moral compass of todays society
I lived in Dubai for 5 years due to an internship, and I worked there for 4 years afterward. I would like to share my opinion about Dubai, but if it differs from your experience, that's perfectly fine. This is just how I felt.
* Lightness of life: In Europe, I loved going out after work and enjoying the simplicity of stress-free concerts or grabbing a beer with a friend. I missed that a lot in Dubai. Nothing felt easy; everything always seemed like a business or an event, and there was an expectation attached to it.
* It sometimes feels like Disneyland; everything is artificial. There is no stone left unturned just for the sake of being there; everything is meticulously staged. It lacks authenticity.
* The weather is horrible; the unbearable heat in the summer makes it impossible to go outside. Imagine spending 4 to 5 straight months indoors. I have lived in Miami and the south of Spain, but Dubai's weather is the worst.
* Traffic! No words are needed to describe it.
Those were the negative aspects, but I have to admit that my overall experience was not that great. The restaurants are nice, the people are friendly, and there are plenty of opportunities, but for me, it wasn't worth it. I now live in the south of France, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. But again, this is just my opinion. :) You should do what makes you happy!
Thank you I think i can feel your decision.
Great comment. South of France sounds amazing!
Exactly my thoughts after visiting Dubai! Thanks for sharing
Same here, i prefer to live in Canada than dubai!! I love living in Canada and also not mind visiting dubai again tho.
'The weather is horrible' Its why the rich arabs all go to London, Paris or Monaco during the summer!
I lived in the UAE for 4 years. When things are good, life is good. But there is a very very dark side to that place, and when things go wrong (and they can), things can go really bad.
Also, "bad mouthing" the UAE (or even suggesting the weather isn't nice and scaring away tourists) can get you jailed.
Thank you now we see a black woman "influencer" jailed for yelling...yelling-(she claims the man wouldn't hand over her id) was the man who also yelled arrested? ...scary place.
When i look at Dubai , things look temporal to me , the city architecture has been built without even considering raising sea levels (the palm tree islands for example) or that the iconic buildings don't have sewage systems. That to me are temporal decisions. I guess we will need to wait and see , that's why i was impressed he gave away his uk residency for Dubai.
@@YogaBlissDanceWell she deserves to go to jail. She rented a car and there was a dent on the car when she returned it. And then she had the nerve to scream at him. When you are in other people's country, learn to be polite.

That's why we can't trust all what he's saying. I've lived in Dubai till 2020. It's a safe place for women and I like that about it. But the bad stuff there gets covered up all the time

Been living in Dubai for about 3 years
Missing this place a lot… so many true friends I made staying over there ❤
What a great video. So useful. I am planning on moving to Dubai and all your thoughts are just so helpful
This is amazing feedback Mike!. Your videos have been informative, inspirational and bring a lot of value. It is good to step out of your comfort zone and explore different places where as long the pros outweigh the cons such as cost of living, tax benefits, quality of life and many more then that's what matters.

I could watch Mike's videos all day long. The fact that you are so confident to roll out these sit down videos consistently shows that you and your audience are truly aligned. Thank you and have a great Sunday!
He also lies to his viewers claiming natural but other than that he has good content indeed
He talks absolute nonsense and would never speak any Dubai truths because like all the other narcissistic influencers, money is all that matters…
I have no intention of moving to Dubai and I’ve never been interested in visiting it. I spoke to a CZcamsr the other day and his plan is to move there. I’m writing this comment to say that I truly enjoyed your review. You came across as believable and informed as well. A superb job! Best of luck to you with your future endeavors.
Sorry robert but in dubai if your an influencer the government forces you to sign a contract so you cant say anything negative.
@@bean8748 interesting. I am not an influencer, but I regularly chat with someone who is. I’ll be hitting the gym today and I’ll probably run into him. Like I said, Dubai doesn’t really interest me, but it’s nice to know that they operate like this. Thank you for the info.
I’ve been there twice for five days each time and I just love the city but thank you for the experience of understanding what it feels like to be a resident
This is why you are at the pinnacle of being an 'influencer'. No BS, always giving us good and the bad, pros and cons, not pushing anything in your face, not putting a fake persona but rather staying true to himself since day one! You genuinely do your own thing with zero strings attached like so many others. Truly an example, can't wait to collab with you one day! Would be an honor! Liked, shared & commented!
Maybe when you do a collab you could see whether you can get your tongue any further up his ass
Lol it doesn't rain alot in London. Mike just bullshitting
and he is also a fake natty
And lying about being natty and getting overly defensive when called out

All correct. I have lived in Dubai since 2016. I taught English for two years, then sold property in London and bought a flat in Dubai. I love Dubai. Safe, sunny, extremely well organized, excellent food and first-rate services.
2016 - 2018 it was about £ 3000 per month, no tax. They also provide accommodation of your choice - they take you round various nice flats. Plus health insurance and free plane tickets to London and back once a year.
@@careerscoop5241 I can’t remember - but the school gives you housing allowance - it paid fully for the one-bedroom flat I chose - if you want a more expensive flat you have to pay the difference, which some of my colleagues did.
Hi there I hope you don’t mind me asking? I’ve been offered a job at $6800 but have no idea if it’s enough or not? (Although my gut would tell me it is). I’ve always liked Dubai as a city so would love to jump to this but it would be so reassuring to hear a fellow Londoner say that it’s an enjoyable experience. Thank you :)
@@careerscoop5241 Still in Dubai. As an investor now.
@@misslondon5102 Well, yes. I personally would find it more than enough. Depends, of course, on what the job involves. Dubai is only expensive if you do the expensive things. You mean $6 800 a month, right?

I was raised in Dubai and lived there for 18 years , I spent my formative years there , my schooling and I lived in the same neighborhood in Al Karama. I can guarantee that there is a lot to explore and a lot you can do , the safety of the place is unbeatable and its truly refreshing to see so many people from all over the world living in Dubai. I grew up so I have always been accustomed to extremely humid temperatures , so I guess I'm used to the heat
I am not so keen on religions like islam, gives me pimples.
So i have a friend that works as a security guard at a mall in Dubai and i can tell you that there IS a lot of crime. The reason why the "rates" are so low is because crime isn't necessarily covered in media and won't ever be just to make Dubai seem more appealing to foreigners. It's not as simple as you make it out to be.
Sounds like Mérida in Mexico
Depends which region
Why are you lying
@@yousifalazzawi7930 crime directed at tourist is pretty rare but Dubai isn't some magical place where there's no crime. why would an authoritarian nation that relies HEAVILY ON TOURISM tarnish their own reputation by publishing real crime rates? @@HehehexDD The crime is only committed by the immigrants.
Als Arab I can say in terms of making good money, Dubai is the right place, but at the same time it is too flashy for me. And that is why I prefer life in Germany in spite of high taxes and cold people, e.g. in terms of privacy, going in the nature and the weather. I was in Dubai 3 years ago, and I could not be outside more than one hour due of the heat, so the only thing I can do to change my mood is just go spending money.
Germany over Dubai??? hahahahah

You are so genuine Mike. Love watching and listening to you. Thank you so much for your advice and inspiration.
It's fascinating seeing the high-end side of Dubai from your experience. Mine is somewhat different - I'm in Dubai for two years to save enough money for a deposit on a house in the UK. I'm disabled and cannot work, wife to a teacher, so we're here on one okay salary. We don't eat out, we don't shop, I spend most of my time in the gym that thankfully comes with our accom. We saved our asses off to be able to see some other countries while we're here and that's our main pleasure while we're here. I'd love to own a Chanel handbag, but life hasn't worked out that way for me - we can't have it all. I do wish people understood that not everyone lives like an influencer here - outside of Marina, there are people struggling to live here. It's not all parties and champagne for a huge number of the population. I do think Brits have this sense of entitlement to live like influencers when they come here. It's sadly not a reality for a lot of people.
agree,he doesn't saw the dark side of Dubai
You have what most of people don't but you choose to be ungrateful
I agree. There is poverty in Dubai. However, I have to say that the quality of life is far better than anything I have ever experienced in the UK.
@@salahit121 English cannot be your first language! This was not a statement of being ‘ungrateful’. This was a reality check that not everyone lives like this influencer!

Quality presentation pal, thank you.
The reason it's so safe in Dubai is because there are actual repercussions for committing a crime.
and I bet police carry guns, not just a fkcn bat
Repercussions for committing a crime? I guess that excludes slavery because thats a very popular crime commited by its corrupt and criminal leaders
well, it works then
UK has a severe shortage of police which is why the crime has become so prevalent.

Not at all. You guys have a really warped view (which I don't blame you for because most of the Rupert Murdoch owned western media always creates fearmongering about the region and its people). Mike is fully objective about experience of the city. The only thing that would be an issue would be if he was interfering in politics, which he is not.
I went to dubai on vacation last year, best time of my life, going again this year. Yacht party cost 80$ for the night. My hotel cost 30$ a night. So much stuff to go see. SO many beautiful women everywhere. The hotel pool, the yacht, the bars. And bars are 24/7. I was drunk the entire 4 days.
Lived in Dubai for the first 19 years of my life and this video is pretty much spot on. While there's a slightly wealthier angle to Mike's perspective than mine, I can certainly say that it's a lovely place to grow up. If you're rich and/or beautiful it seems like a great place. For a regular guy just forget about it.
nonsense - been in the Middle East 10 years and an average guy who works in an office. its very easy to live here.
you seen the map he showed in the video 02:57 there are place u can take a shared space which costs even 500aed a month or you own studio for 2000aed a month thats in the low zones
Thank you very much for sharing your experiences. Dubai looks magical and I cannot wait to live there at some stage.
Great vid, Mike and 100 % agreement. Dubai is an extraordinarily vibrant place without comparison and the pros outrun the cons by far, but you should be aware of the fact that a steady income is highly recommendable. Having to live on a budget spoils a lot of the fun you can have in this gorgeous city I can't wait to be back in.
Great video Mike. I just moved to Dubai and am writing a blog post on why I moved to Dubai to change people's perspectives on it. Hope to see you around in Dubai!
what is your blog name?
I lived in Dubai 20 years ago. It was much more hedonistic and relaxed than it is today! I was part of the "Dubai Boom Set," and witnessed many "FIRSTs" that happened in the city. I visited the site of the first ever Palm Island, was involved in the opening of the exclusive Arabian Court at the Royal Mirage, the first ever Givenchy Spa in the Middle East, the first ever international monetary fund meetings, and the first ever tour of the Burj Al Arab for visitors that were NOT its guests. And of course the first ever Dubai fashion week and the launch of MAC make up at a lavish event in the desert. Everything moved very fast in Dubai back then. Prostitution was common and there were women, men, transgenders etc. Lots of gay men from countries where homosexuality was criminalised , descended upon Dubai. Nobody batted an eyelid. The local emiratis were extremely friendly. Lots of events, shows and parties. Although it was against the law to drink or eat in public during Ramadan, the authorities turned a blind eye! The point was to make sure everyone , mainly tourists and businesses, and mainly wealthy people should come to Dubai. Everything changed after their economic collapse. There's a complicated background behind this. You should all read up on it. I did enjoy my time in Dubai and can't wait to go back !
Thanks for sharing
You're forgetting the taxi spies and obviously none of your friends were reported upon and arrested as a result of taxi drivers talking about your offences
14:50 and how to get a partner, help me?
Arabian Court at the Royal Mirage! I also remember this opening. Always stayed there when I visited!! Loved that place.
My friends parents moved out there in the early 1990’s. Must have been amazing then.
Having lived in Dubai myself for many years that's a fantastic unbiased opinion of living in not bubble.
Thanks for the insight 🙏
