- today i try to explain ALL DRAG RACE DRAG FAMILIES! yes that's happening.
*i didn't include the haus of Avalon (aka Gigi Goode and Symone's house) because I don't think they class them themselves as 'drag sisters' in the same way that these families do. the haus of Avalon also isn't just made up of drag queens so it doesn't fit with the video. but ya'll know Gigi and Symone are in the same haus anyways
i'm sorry if some things are wrong! i'm not perfect! x please be kind and polite in the comments to myself and others. this took a long time to make and YES i will have missed some families, either due to lack of information when doing research or because i didn't know of them at all. love you all x

Updates since filming:
~ Aquaria has distanced and unassociated herself with Sharon Needles due to allegations made against Sharon. She does NOT want to be associated with her anymore with I completely respect- I hope this video does not offend in any way, this was filmed before I was aware of the situation
~Kahmora Hall-Iman has now announced that she has joined the Iman Dynasty!
~ Elliot with 2 Ts has said that she is Kennedy Davenports niece but there's no family link confirmed as of yet
~Bob ALSO considers Peaches Christ his drag mother.
~ From listening to the Bald & the Beautiful podcast where Frisbee Jenkins (previously known as Sasha Belle on S7) had a drag mother, Pretty Belle, as well as many drag daughters.
~ Willam has a drag daughter called Tye Olsen. Courtney Act has mentioned that she co-parented Tye but it is unconfirmed.
~ Lawrence Chaney has a drag daughter, Paris Ettamol. *I realise that I didn't really research any UK girls however drag families aren't as big over here.
~Lexington Banks from the Haus of Carr kindly got in touch and explained to me the Carr family. Alexis and Jan are not in the family despite popular belief. Kizah's (who's name i now know how to pronounce!) daughters are Jasmine, Brita, Rosé and Corma Kelley. Brita's daughters are Lagoona Bloo and Vix. Lagoonas daughter is Castrata. Jasmine's daughters are Lemon, Izzy Uncut and Lexington Banks. Thank you for getting in touch Lexington❤️
~ I don't know why this didn't come up in my research but Naysha Lopez is the sister of Dida, Kahmora and Jaida Essence Hall

~ Trinity the Tuck and Asia O'Hara belong to a drag family called the Haus of Taylor, fathered by Bob Taylor. The reason I didn't include this in the video is because I couldn't find much information.
~ Dax Exclamation Point has another drag daughter called Brigitte Bidet.
~ Ginger Minj's mother is Rusty Fawcett and Ginger has her own daughter called Tora Himen.

I find drag family's so interesting and this is helping a lot so thank you for putting this together, things change obviously depending on people's relationships but this is still a good starting point!

Drag families are sooo complex and interesting. This video is great but really just brushes the surface so if ur interested in drag families their is sooo much more to learn! The Iman dynasty for example is wayyyyy bigger than one could comprehend. For example Prada 'Iman' Diamond essentially has mothered most of the Twin Cities at one point or another as she is the show runner for one of the largest and longest running drag clubs in Minneapolis, The Gay 90s (which is where Bebe Zahara Benet and Manilia Luzon and Mercedez Iman Dupree both performed regularly before making it onto Drag Race). The Iman/Dupree households are both incomprehensively large with multiple factions, especially since these two families are both HUGE in the pageant scenes and have roots that date back to the balls in New York/Paris is Burning. Bob also has multiple other children which he's talked about on Sibling Rivalry (not sure which episode, might be the one with Honey Davenport?). Alaska has stated before that she doesn't consider herself to be a drag "mother" to anyone and instead her "daughters" are just other queens from the planet Glamtron.
Drag families also are very fluctuating since people leave/join other families multiple times making family trees almost impossible to make, not to mention how long some of these families have been around. There's so much more and I only know mostly about Minneapolis/Chicago/Milwaukee families but barely even know that much bc there's so much there haha, most families did traditionally stem from the Ball scene and most existing families today are majorily a part of the pageant scene as drag families have become more scarce as homosexuality and drag have become more accepted in the US.
I thought Pearl said on Hey Qween that she wasn't really Scarlet's mother, however, more of a sister whom she would lend hair and costumes to if ever asked? I don't mean to split hairs as Pearl could've been joking with Johnny, but her tone can be hard to decipher sometimes. Flazeda and all, ya know?

It was explained in an episode that Tamisha is not La la's mother but was the one who put her first in drag. But, Tamisha said that La la would always be an Iman in their hearts.

Wow, this is awesome I've always wondered. Maybe you could do a video on the different styles of Drag queens (fish, pageant, club, camp, etc) and how they overlap. THAT has also always confused me because I don't see the difference between some of them, yet other people have no problem distinguishing between all the different ones.

I'm extremely new to the drag fandom and have only just finished season 4 of RPDR- I had no idea there were drag houses & families before. It's so interesting. Like Chad basically being Morgan's granny! I have so much to catch up on. I'm getting kind of obsessed with learning who is friends with who in the drag world and who has beef, so I'm bound to run into spoilers about future winners (oops)! I just can't help but go spelunking into the rabbit hole!
