- I can finally put this run to rest! Words couldn't describe the feelings I had the moment my final spirit helm breaker connected. (I hope I could portray it through music though :D) After watching my 5'17 run over and over for an entire month with the mistakes I made, eventually becoming an eyesore, I was able to fully optimize the script. Longsword is finally part of the sub 5 crew on the leaderboard. ♥
For anyone who is more well-versed in the longsword speedrunning scene, I already attempted this same script with frostcraft+felyne heroics. While frostcraft did outperform my build in phase 1, the damage in phase 2 was abominable because of the lack of sheathing throughout the entirety of the phase. ALSO the build cannot allow eating for felyne bombardier which could add, at most, 900 damage to roaming ballista. This causes the frostcraft build to equalize in terms of performance vs my build by the end of p2. I also noticed that fc is either slightly worse or slightly better than my build in phase 3 due to the nature of the script and lack of sheathing.
These are just my two cents, I think fc longsword is fun, but overrated for fatalis freestyle.

The black smoke effect on the Hellish Slasher longsword model is a mod my friend graciously created for me, it isn't currently available as far as I know.
I previously was not comfortable answering questions about my mods because of a past event involving Capcom, but I'm less concerned of that issue arising again.
Yo how are u turning your character like that for helm splinter are u on PC ?
@@fredrickgilliam6323 you can turn your character towards any direction by pressing triangle while moving the left stick towards the direction you want, you have to input this while in midair of the helmbreaker. That has always been a feature in world :)
for some reason the first two mods arent working. I don't know if its because im doing something wrong or if it is because its something im not used to, do you have any ideas?
@@notgbel You can't install them at the same time, they are two modpacks that contain files with the same names. I recommend either installing only one of them, or going to the website in the above comment to figure out which files to delete if you want to mix and match the efx ingame

This is absolutely stunning... I've never seen anyone use airborne strat quite like you did, and with the heavy artillery and those few extra shots before the first binder... and I thought the boost from evasion mantle multiple times over the course of the fight plus the extra skills you could slot would be better than one hit with the assasin mantle but... clearly I and most others were wrong. that is a phenomenal run. Congrats on your WR!
The evasion mantle is a good boost to dps in general, but that's only if you can effectively proc the buff without wasting any extra time ^^ For example, it's great to use in a nonheroics freestyle setting, where you won't have enough damage to fully script the entire hunt, allowing fatalis to actually perform his attacks in p3. You can effectively use evasion mantle in this scenario! However, running heroics lvl 7 along with cat cheerhorn Atk L, evasion buff is not very useful considering that all of the attack buffs in this run are enough to fully kill fatalis by the end of the script. :) Thank you for your kind words, and thank you for watching! ^^
In this specific setting of cat + heroics you also lose the majority of what evasion would do due to hitting the raw cap.
Edit: To provide some numbers and more context - This build sits only 16 raw away from cap after p1 exit when drug and seed are active. Using evasion for that is just a huge waste of a mantle slot and time spent proccing it.
To top it off the most relevant place to use evasion in a run like this, would be in a lengthy p2 or p3 script- Most likely involving aerial which EASILY hits raw cap anyway thanks to airborne being another 1.3x.
(yes p1 evasion is possible too, it's just not that great in heroics runs imo, though you could argue on this)
Evasion is more prevalent if you choose to go the FC route for example or as Kiza mentioned in non heroics.

One of the main reasons i love MHW is the music so when i find a speed run that doesn't just use the beautiful OST its usually not going in my favorite list. Despite that i really liked this run, i didn't know it was possible to even get this low of a time. Awesome to see people still speed running this game!

That was one hell of a finisher. Imagine being Fatalis in that situation: the puny human that has somehow been absolutely destroying you vanishes in a plume of smoke, and as you look for them you feel a stab in your right arm. “Ha, not so stealthy anymore,” you think. You see them slam out of the air onto the floor as you feel nothing. You prepare to roar, filling your lungs and rearing your head back to unleash a powerful battle cry, and then suddenly, out of seemingly nowhere, your head just falls off.
