    Your Odessa Barbs look great! I wish I had enough space for some, but unfortunately, I'm limited to nano tanks at the moment.

    Put some more plants in, the long flowing types will give them some cover and look amazing.

    Great, healthy looking tank! I think by changing the substrate color to white or black you can bring out the colors of the barbs more. This one kind of mutes their color imho.

    I have 5 odessa barb in a small tank, I'm going to get and setup a bigger tank when I can, I was wondering do you have a heater for yours? Simply because my odessa barbs seem to be happy with no heater, but I do want to get a heater for my bigger tank but I don't really know how they'll react to it

    • @KelsAquariums
      @KelsAquariums  Před rokem

      Hi, I do have a heater in mine but the odessa barbs don't need it they are a temperate fish so 14C - 22C or 65F - 71F. I had the heater in for some other fish in the tank and i was at the high end for odessa

    As I was sitting here today in my office admiring my pack of 6 males in a 75 community I was daydreaming of an entire tank of these beautiful fish. Then boom your video was there! Tank looks great. Do they breed for you?

    What female to make ratio do you have?
    Also, i was told Odessa barbs will eat shrimp but i see you had some amano shrimp with them with no issues.

    • @KelsAquariums
      @KelsAquariums  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Hi. the ration was about 60% male and i never had an issue with amano you may have an issue with cherry shrimp or smaller but amanos are fine

      @@KelsAquariums thanks for the reply. There's alot of different advice on the internet. Some say all male, some say 1:1 and some say at least 3:1 in favour of males. Good to know your ratio works.

    • @KelsAquariums
      @KelsAquariums  Před 3 lety

      Hi, I no longer run two inkbirds i run one. the reason I did in this video is I was running 3x200 watt heaters and the inkbirds i had had 2 sockets each so needed 2. I currently run a single ITC-306A with 2x300 watt heaters attached. I did a video on this new inkbirds about 2 days ago :) vid here czcams.com/video/5r2wM1BMO6o/video.html

    Hi how many of the Odessa Barbs would you recommend as the sole inhabitants of a 123 litre tank 40x40x82cm? I had initially thought 21 but looking at the size of them in your tank I'm not sure

If the fish are at a local shop that you can get to easy you could always try adding 10 then if you think you can get more adding some more in time but if you are having them delivered i would go 15. at 1st might look like its a bit empty but they will grow quickly :)

    what a very boring tank, poorly laid out and stressful for the fish. such a shame because with an aquarium of this size you can do so much more. more fun for the viewer and more fun for the fish.
