- Kingwood Studios presents D-Day Invasion-Part 1. The first wave of American troops storm Omaha Beach as Germans rain artillery and machine gun fire upon them. This stop-motion film depicts one of history's most consequential and gut-wrenching battles. It was filmed using iKit Movie and Photoshop at 14 frames per second.

This is great keep going
Very impressive Indeed!
I’m beginning a plastic army men stop motion series, but I’m curious as to which idea would be better: recreating WWII battles with army men or making my own fictional conflict with fictional countries utilizing the classic TimMee figures. Please like this comment if you think WWII is better or comment if you like the fictional conflict idea. Now here are the factors I’ve considered for each….
WWII Pros:
1. Most devastating conflict in all of human history
2. Extremely captivating considering 46% of all war movies are based on WWII
3. Beginning of what we consider the modern era of warfare
4. Diverse array of countries, vehicles, soldiers, and weapons
WWII Cons:
1. Want to be as historically accurate as possible as to not misrepresent the truth, so a great amount of time will need to be devoted in researching every little thing
2. Most WWII army men are either Germans or Americans even though WWII was a global conflict (it’d be difficult to portray the other countries of the war in detail when these other factions are so hard to find in army men scale)
3. The soldiers being army men wouldn’t really make sense and would be hard to explain in the series
4. WWII army men are actually pretty fragile for some reason and need to be stored in a safe and undisturbed space (space I don’t really have)
Fictional Conflict Pros:
1. I can take the story anywhere I want as long as it’s semi-realistic
2. Battles are fictional, so they can’t be historically accurate
3. TimMee army men are cheaper than the WWII ones and don’t seem to be as fragile while still being high quality
4. I don’t have to portray as many countries on both sides of the war (if that makes sense). The conflicts can simply be greens vs. tan throughout the series rather than Germany, Italy, and Japan vs. UK, USA, Australia, Canada, France, Russia, China, etc. etc.
Fictional Conflict Cons:
1. Weapons, vehicles, and equipment would all be more or less the same, which wouldn’t make sense during a war. It’d be almost as if one weapons company was supplying both sides of the war
2. The soldiers would all look American, which also wouldn’t make sense
3. The vehicles would all have to have the same symbols (white stars and whatnot) on them or none at all, which would make them look dull and undetailed
4. I don’t want to just copy the same story that the army men games and other stop motions like Plastic Apocalypse already have set up, so I’d have to spend time establishing my own unique story and universe for my series
Thanks to those who read all of this! Any feedback would be appreciated and I apologize for making this so long!
How about using a historical battle as your base story, but then putting a surprise fictional twist on it.
@@KingwoodStudios So are you suggesting an alternate outcome of WWII or more like historical fiction? Also, thanks for the reply!
a historical battle with some kind of fictional twist
