  • 👉 The video demonstrates in detail how to operate and do the math calculations when testing tablets for friability.
👉 The revolutions (rev) of this machine are adjusted in increments of 5 rev.
👉 The speed (rpm) of the machine are adjusted in increments of 1 rpm.
👉 Special care should be taken as not to damage the sample size of tablets when they are being weighed before using the machine.
👉 Care should be taken when placing the sample size of tablets into the drums as not to damage these tablets.
👉 It is good practice to follow a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) when performing the tests, as this will ensure accurate results from any operator using the machine.
👉 When training the operator, the instructor should be with the operator at all times, and ensure that the operator understands the importance of following the same procedure every time, and to not deviate from the process (SOP).
👉 Use a quality scale that is sealed from all sides to take your weight measurement results.
👉 A scale that is sealed will prevent any air movement in the room that will change your weight readings.
👉 Use a sturdy heavy table that does not move due to floor vibrations, this will keep your machine and equipment stable ensuring accurate measurement readings.
💻 Friabilty Formula is shown in the video.
    💻 Friability Formula:
    💻% Friability = (Wo-Wf} / (Wo) x 100%
💻 If % calculated friability is less than 1, then usually the tablet weight is considered good.

Why standard rotation is 100. It may be 150 ya 50 ....can any one explain it. ???

Following are the rationale for considering 100 revolution
      1. Mentioned in the USP chapter No. 1261
      2. Practically feasible as test complete in small time duration and easy to monitor the test.
      3. Considering more revolutions may cause more friability and less revolutions at lower side.
      4. If we increase or decrease the revolution in proportion we need to consider acceptance criteria too.

After all calculation you just multiply with 100% then we will get 0.021% not with 100

But in your calculations the results is 2.12814.. it is greater than the 1.
