    I love this video since this is a nice example about how different cables can and do actually effect the overall sound signature of IEMs. Single DD IEMs are less affected. Multi-driver IEMs are more effected and frequently in somewhat unpredictable ways. This is due to the way that the different resistance values for different types of cables actually interact with the RLC crossover networks and the inherent impedance curves of the drivers within multi-driver IEMs. Most people do not believe this and simply state that cables do not matter. These same people also tend to state that burn-in is not a real thing.

      Similar to using impedance adapter how it changes the sound

      Just from my ears, it doesnt matter much if thats DD or hybrid. Cables will always affect the sound equally

    I loved the part in the video where you mention whether believe or not just change it. It really made me laugh. This episode is so relaxing and warm, feel zero distance between you and the audience. i definately felt that you nailed it very well this one, short, fun, informative and natural.

    The Pilgrim Noir is maybe the best IEM I've heard (haven't tried a ton). The bass quality is amazing. So "full bodied", as you said. I've never heard better bass. I also think the instrument separation is quite good. I recently bought the Symphonium Titan and I actually prefer the bass on the Pilgrim Noir. Noir doesn't match it in sub bass, but the bass quality is in a league of it's own. And the rest of the sound is so much more natural to my ear.

      Compare to maestro mini?

    • @charlesjag3407
      @charlesjag3407 Před 4 dny

      @@heyking8583 I think the Noir is a clear upgrade over the MM. MM might have slightly more bass quantity, but Noir has much better texture and bass quality. And the treble of the Noir is more controlled and not sibilant when compared to MM meaning the bass becomes more emphasized and you can listen at higher volume. Sound quality is much more natural with better timbre on the Noir. Only advantage to MM would be it fits more comfortably

    Nice quick impression video on these 2 iems, hopefully a full review soon. I think the audio shop is the star for this video man, so nice. How I wished this video was out a few days ago. Was at KL a couple of days ago for holiday, staying around Petaling Street Market area, quite near this is audio place. Nice review, love your reviews.
    I got the Elysian Pilgrim and though I could hear the detail for classical etc it didn't wow me. And so I sold it- a shame as I was hoping for a bit of Elysian Diva magic (which is outside of my price range).
    I didn't have any other pentaconn cables so couldn't try another cable without spending quite a bit more.
    It's good to know the cable makes such a difference. It would be great if Elysian included a cable that helped get the most from the Pilgrim.

    I find the pilgrim’s fitting abit shallow. With the spinfits tips provided, it doesn’t sits well in my ears, and because of that, the seal wasn’t great.
    Changing the tips to Dunu S&S made alot of difference since it provides deeper insertion and better seal.

    I wish more Shops like this would exist , even for the cat I would go there recently to pet :D. btw I bought the new Dunu lyre Mini cable because it was so cheap and it in person feels very great. Would you maybe consider feedback to this cable if you can have it somewhere on hand to your own made Cable or others? Im still consider a buy of your Cable because other "full copper" cables are so expensive for me at least.

    • @donglemadness
      @donglemadness  Před 6 dny +1

      I have Lyre with me, and I also have my own Valkynaz cable made of pure annealed Canare copper. While Lyre is without a doubt a good cable, I still use my own Valkynaz for a more full bodied sound and analytical smoothness

    Do you think a good quality copper cable would bring the same performance as the Vortex Eddie?

    • @donglemadness
      @donglemadness  Před 6 dny +1

      Thanks. Yes with the right copper cable, 90-95% of what Noir offers. Not many options to choose from since Pilgrim uses the Pentaconn connector so I wasn't able to try other copper cables, but I believe a good copper would have similar effect
