- Bo Jackson was the epitome of a supreme athletic specimen. His size, speed, and agility captivated spectators. He played both baseball and football at the highest level, making him a year round sports celebrity. In MLB, he showcased unmatched arm strength and established himself as a premier power-speed threat. In the NFL, he was an unstoppable force as one of the most dynamic running backs in the game. He also made All-Star game history that no one has been able to replicate. During commercial breaks, the “Bo Knows” campaign fueled his title as a multimedia sensation. The barstool chatter and tall tales built him up to be a mythical creature! According to those who watched him play, the stories do not seem so far-fetched. Bo’s charisma and humility made rooting for him an easy task. Off the field, his philanthropic efforts have left a lasting and meaningful impact.

On the ESPN 30 for 30 documentary on Bo, someone made the rather astute observation that Bo Jackson came around at just the perfect time, if he had come along just a couple of years later, everyone would have just assumed he was on steroids.
So he was the man when I was a youngster. As a 10 year old kid watching him do things no one else could on the field was unreal! His time was short, but it was memorable! He is an inspiration.
During my research it was hard to fathom his unique skillset! No doubt a generational talent
I remember watching a doc about him when I was about the same age I’d never and have never seen anything like him sense. Should be in the hof of both the mlb and nfl imo
I lived in auburn for about ten years and just about everyone has a Bo Jackson legend they've heard before. I was lucky enough to meet him at a Bo Bikes Bama event in 2022. He was so gracious with everyone. Stopped to take a selfie with absolutely every person that asked. Asked their name, shook their hand, thanked them for being there. 100% pure class. Elite athlete, elite human. ❤
Very well stated and he is quite a man. That's more important than even his incredibly never seen before athletic ability
That's really awesome you had the opportunity to meet him! Thank you for sharing that story
For the amount of talent and athleticism that Bo had, he was very humble and never had any off-field issues. Pure class and one of the best role models of any athlete to ever live.
I was a 90’s child, Pro Stars and Bo Knows 👍🏻🔥.
Cartoon!
Bo Jackson was the closest thing to a superhero I could imagine what a remarkably gifted talented athlete and of course a very Humble man there will never be another Bo Jackson and if not for injuries he may well have made the Hall of Fame in both football and MLB
For myself, it's hard to believe what he was able to do in NFL without a preseason!
I was 12 years old watching that playoff game against Cincinnati when he got hurt, and I burst into tears. Bo was superhuman, and it was an absolute tragedy to see his peak get cut off like that.
Bo's NFL career ending the way it did is truly heartbreaking. A shame he didn't get more than 4 seasons in the league
Nobody thought it was serious when it first occurred. Such a shame.
I swear SAME!! I was also 12 at the time 4-1-79. Also cried when I heard how serious it was. He would've been mentioned a long with the all time greats in both sports . Imagine making the HOF on both sports?!?! He was that good I believe he could've done it
That play where Bo got injured against Cincinnati remains one of the saddest things I have ever seen in sports. Bo was one of a kind.
Yup and Bengals were cursed after that. They were horrible for the next 25+ years
Edgar Martinez, story is great
Literally just yesterday I was on Bo's football and baseball reference pages thinking about him and researching. You uploaded this video just for me, didn't you 😅
We were on the same wavelength! I'm glad this video found you at the opportune time 😄
Eric Davis needs a vid!! Brian Giles was super underrated too
He has a video on Eric Davis
Dustin Pedroia. I'm not going away Cam. Not until I get my damn Pedroia video
And garciaparra🙌🙌
@@sammyhoops5902 A few others have made garciaparra vids lately, even a Nomar/Tulo vid.
I admire your dedication to Pedroia 🫡
Pedroia likes men
@Cam23 ask Jeff Francis if you don't know why? ❤
"Bo, you don't know Diddley!"
😂
As a kid this guy was bigger than life. Such an amazing athlete. True legend
The things these talented young men and women dealt with in the time when college sports was becoming national and monetized was deplorable. The multibillion-dollar industry that feeds on their talent and hard work has finally had to pay the piper for the decades of exploitation.
Meh, theyre not the ones even paying. Still slave behavior. Education should be implied with the exploitation of athletic ability. And academic. They don't have to have sports programs. They choose. They should pay out with either booster %, or ticket sales %
Honesty never realized his baseball skill on offense. Should be hall of fame. He makes baseball look cooler. And he brought fans. I'd even argue necessary for story of mlb. Best athlete to ever play the game. And great player with great numbers. Plus he chose baseball when nfl offered him 6x the money. Just my opinion.
Goat of all athlete's
Bo did the damn thing.
BO JAKSON !
THE GREATEST ATHLETE OF ALL TIME ! 🏈 ⚾️
( He was an alternate for
The 1988 4x4 Relay Team. )
The numbers don't allow for the Hall of Fame but just watching and you could tell he could be the best ever
I am so damn happy to grow up in a time period to watch that man play. He was just amazing!
Bo Jackson was the greatest natural athlete to have ever lived, he didn’t even workout because he said it would make him too bulky, the shape he was in was just his natural physical shape, he was just a beast a super human that this world will never see again
If Bo Jackson would've simply played RB for 10 years he would go down as 1 of the greatest football players of all-time.
The way I remember that Deion game was that he made that diving catch. Then he went into the crowd and delivered a baby. That baby was Lebron James.
As a Georgia Dawg fan I can tell Bo was great Running back. Bo and Hershel Walker are the 2 best RB in College Football history.
Even as a Phillies fan, I've always appreciated the 90s Braves teams because even as a kid I recognized the greatness in their pitching rotation with Smoltz, Maddox and Glavine. So when the Phillies beat them in the 93' NLCS it made it that much more special. I was 9 years old and remember going into that series just grateful the Phillies had made it that far but no way they'd beat the Braves... But they did and it was incredible. Funny enough, the Phillies ownership of the Braves during the Postseason, is still alive and well 😆
Awesome video. Thank you for taking the time to entertain, remind and inform us.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video
Bo was a juggernaut in both sports. I still remember him rushing for over 100 yards every game I saw him play it seems. Such a shame that injury robbed us from seeing him go on to achieve so much more. The thing I remember most about him though was his humble attitude about his abilities and stardom. He seemed like an everyday person.
Bo Knows humility!
Good stuff bud! 1st video I've seen from you and I really enjoy your perspective and presentation 👍
Thank you, I really appreciate the kind words!
Love this one, please do others from his era who are under appreciated like Will Clark, Canseco, Bonds, Ruben Sierra, McGwire, Barry Larkin, McGriff, Palmeiro, Matt Williams and Galaraga.
I wouldn't even mind shorter videos on guys like Cecil Fielder, Joyner, Bonilla, Kevin Mitchell, Ellis Burks, Devon White, Mike Greenwell, Kruk, Tartabull, Incaviglia.
Unless of course, you don't make vids for PED users, in which case ignore about 80% of the above.
His career almost reminds me of Ohtani's, where we're watching someone dominate in 2 facets, albeit Ohtani only plays baseball. Those 2 are one of a kind. Great video!
Agreed, a unicorn type of player! Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the video 🙌🏼
Thanks for doing a vid on a favorite, Bo Jackson. Now Im not counting Dave Justice as complete although i did see the Honarable mention vid loved it. By the way the professor would make a great video too.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, and yes Justice needs a vid one of these days
Humility is dope
They should put that on a shirt cause it's true!
Hey you should do Joe Mauer next. He is my favorite player of all time and he has a great story.
New subscriber here…love the video. Definitely would like to see a David Wright, Jose Reyes, or King Felix vid.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed. Welcome to the channel!
There is no question he was the greatest athlete that has ever lived.
Great video, enjoyed it. Please Albert Belle, Mr. Freeze
Thank you!
@@Cam23 yea man, great channel. I predict Murphy #3 gets in next year.
@@flame-sky7148 I appreciate that! I would love to see Murphy get in next year
Wilt Chamberlain insane athletic abilities
A Barry Larkin video would be cool…
I was lucky enough to watch Bo as a Los Angeles Raider..
He was truly a beast..
Lynch had nothing on Bo..
Unfortunately I was also at the game that ended his career..
Was a sad day that I'll never forget!!
Bo was a bad Ass..
As a side note..
My work often had me around the Raiders practice site and I remember running into Lyle Alzado and Howie Long ,I asked them about Bo and they both said that they would never tackle him during drills!!!
They wanted no part of him!!
😂😂
Its not a mystery, just something to acknowledge that sets Bo apart from anyone else - Bo's reaction time / Hand-eye coordination. No one, ever, has been able to match that and everything else. Michael Jordan made an attempt, and that was laughable.
6.8 yards per carry after laying off football for 2 years, what a freak of nature.
Do Freddy Sanchez from the Pirates next. He won a batting title.
Bo was the best Tecmo Bowl player ever
I’d like to see one on the Maddux Brothers. There are Greg but not much about Mike and almost nothing about their childhood.
How about doing a video on the oppositte from Bo. John Kruk. What was his slogan? I am not an athlete, I am a baseball player! ❤
You gotta do Yadi bro
Can you do a video on Mike Mussina
Since you did Bo, now it’s time to do the other 2-way star… DEION “PRIMETIME” SANDERS
Definitely! 😎🫡
Bo is The Greatest
Legend
PLEASE do The INSANE Prime of Will Clark
Great person
Multiple primes of Barry Bonds video when, or The Beginning of the End of Baseball as we knew it, featuring Adam Dunn, the first/most prolific three true outcome player. (Obviously you could argue other people, but considering he ended up with a career average of .237, its pretty bad. It really felt like he set the stage for everyone else that followed, aka mark reynolds, dan uggla, and any other players who can't hit for average, strike out a ton, mash 20-40 homeruns a year and walk a semi moderate amount each season.)
I do enjoy that you look at other players than simply the creme de la creme of MLB history.
Bo's run as a 2-sport athlete was awesome and iconic, but it being cut short by his hip injury also presents a "what if?" scenario. I remember George Brett saying that if he stayed injury free, Bo would have at least reached 300 HRs.
One can only imagine what the injury free numbers would look like!
He was dominating 2 sports lol. Deion was good at baseball but not like bo. Carlton haselrig the only other guy I know to dominate 2 sports like that the past 40 years.
if Buck Neal was still alive he would hear that sound from Shohei Othani
Cam 23 is a true G.O.A.T 🔥😎🔥
Haha idk about that but I appreciate you Sergio! 😎 🔥
Bo knows.
Will “The Thrill” Clark.
He should've just played baseball
We would've been robbed of the Bo knows commercial but he was actually getting better as a player
Yea you want to get to the Prime truth of the matter: Ted Williams (1946-1949), Mickey Mantle (1953-1958) Willie Mays (1962-1965), Hank Aaron (1962-1967) or more , Joe Morgan (1972-1976), Barry Bonds (1992-1996) or more, Jackie Robinson (1949- 1953), Stan Musial (1946 -1953), Babe Ruth 1920's
Bo Is The Best Two-Sports Athlete In The World 💪
Bo Knows athleticism
He was never making the baseball hof. He wasn’t a great player but that batting avg and the zillions of strikeouts were holding him back. Tbh he was better at football and should of just done that
Why not George Brett? Generational hitter who nearly hit .400
He's certainly going to get one, haven't gotten enough footage for him yet!
I actually know this 1 espn do a great 30 for 30 on him & 1 thing they said was a good point so good he came along when he did as 10yrs later he'd of been just another steroid guy regardless of where was or not.
Another awesome video mate keep them coming. Could you do 1 with one of the ronx bombers or maybe a new series & do the same but for teams, that could be me getting greed as I know how much research goes in to every video, great as always.
Very true! He came along at the right time.
Haha you're good, I appreciate the suggestion 🙌🏼

Unfortunate that his injury made him retire early. Dude was an absolute genetically superior individual.
Ivan Rodriguez
Albert belle plz my guy
When people talk about the GOAT these days then they rumble of some states to back up start talk about Emmitt Smith Barry Sanders I always say but the guy was better don't have the numbers because he was swinging the bat half the season Bo really didn't have time to study a play book because he didn't have to Interstellar by Human Highlight Reel
Q: Why does Wayne Gretzky hold so many NHL records?
A: because Bo didn’t want to play hockey
Am I wrong?
This is a goated comment 😂

Love to see Bo's story retold, but this is just a rehash of the 30-for-30 show about Bo Jackson.
Yes, the major events are reflected, but I hope you realize how much was skipped during that special. There is much more to this video than just a "rehash" of a 30 for 30 special I'm aware of and took as a major inspiration to make this video in the first place. Had I not spent considerable time researching on top of what was presented there, I would have just shared a link saying "watch this because it covers everything about Bo Jackson." More than a decade has since passed and several of the dates were incorrect for some of his major milestones.
Day 17 of asking for Ted Williams
