Also, because of the inflation reduction act, Medicare can now negotiate prices with big pharma which has not only saved American millions of dollars, it saves the government billions of dollars.

If $25K is the difference between owning a home or renting, you shouldn't be a home owner. Maintenance, insurance and taxes alone will set you back $25K in 2 years

Both me and my younger brother are gen Z and I have to say that the voting habits of people of my generation has to do a lot with age and location. I am 27 and live in eastern Washington who remembers being disenfranchised by the democratic party when they installed Hillary as the nominee. (btw politically speaking eastern Washington a lot closer to Idaho than western Washington) And I am voting for Trump. And my younger brother will be turning 23 this October and has lived his entire adult life in California and he plans on voting for Harris.

Umm… the collapse of 2008 came about from actions by bankers, not preyed upon mortgagees. First, the fractionalizing of mortgages for individual homes into units to split a sell to different parties. Second, the predatory pushing of mortgages onto persons that were cynically sold that fictitious big returns were easy to attain by unregulated and corrupt agents.
Same way college loans exploded. House listed for 350 and gets negotiated down to 320 will now list for 375 and get negotiated down to 360.
And of course, there's the tens of thousands of couples who bought a condo or small starter home somewhere and now need to find a bigger place because they had kids. Welp...guess who doesn't qualify for that 25k because they aren't first-time buyers.

Interest rates will go down again. The fed is an independent agency so the President has zero control over interest rates. Currently people that can't afford to buy homes rent. That rent costs almost the same as a mortgage payment but it doesn't build any equity. If first time homebuyers can use a $25k tax credit to buy a home and pay a mortgage instead of rent, they can actually start to build wealth.

What this young man does not understand about $25K for a down payment is that it will increase home prices & the amount of red tape you’ll need to go through to get it will be worse than an FHA loan.
My daughter just bought a home. 1,500 sq. Footage no basement for 400,000 in an affordable area of the country. Her interest is at 7.0 % and her down payment was 83,000 to get to 20%. Tell me how 25,000 is going to help. If you qualify, I guarantee you the home you will be able to buy will be a dump.

When there is a housing shortage (supply is low and demand is high) Then prices go way up
When there are a lot of houses (supply is high and demand is low) prices go down.
Building 3 million new homes will increase supply which will lower demand and prices will go down.
The result is more people will have homes and home prices will be more affordable.

Building 3 million new homes will increase supply which will lower demand and prices will go down.

I grew up in MN. I went to state college for five years, then a two year trade school and a second trade school for two years. I didn't have much money so the state paid for my tuition and books.
I always had good paying jobs and paid high taxes. I felt it was my responsibility to help my neighbors get a good education and a good job too. I've never had private health insurance, never even thought about it. The State provides health care with our tax money. That's what a State does because it needs healthy, well educated workers with good jobs to pay high taxes and keep the system running.
