I came home from school each day as a teen in Nairobi, feeling drained, distraught, distressed and wanting to not live another day. I sat in front of the t.v. at 5:30pm to watch Oprah and by the end of every show, I was rejuvenated; I did my homework, I pressed my uniform, I ate my dinner, I went to bed with hope and I survived another day of being bullied, feeling misunderstood and unheard. My Mum was in Zambia, my home country so I could only call her once in a while, I lived with my Dad. Oprah was the mother's daily voice in my mother's absence. Telling me to go on. And so I did.

Oprah has been an inspiration to so many...many lives have been saved and have changed for the better. She continues to do what she loves most...talking (interviewing), producing significant films, providing free education, uplifting people's lives, supporting many humanitarian causes worldwide, inspiring human beings all over the world to be kind, generous and be blessings to others as well. She's really a powerhouse, a woman of substance.

People criticize Oprah all the time. But I appeciate the things she has done while on television, Oprah is a very blessed woman for sure. What I dont understand why she made white folk famous or more rich when they did not even need it. Black people her own race needed her help moreso. For example, what about setting up some places to help better your own people and black children.
Yes, I know Oprah built the school for black girls in Africa. That is a wonderful thing to do. We applaud her for that. Yet, what has she done on a hugh platform in Chicago where she got famous. She has enough money to help build something for black people in the U.S. despite her other contributions I am sure she makes and has made. BUT DO SOMETHING FOR HER OWN BLACK PEOPLE LIKE SHE DID FOR DR. PHIL AND OTHER WHITE PEOPLE! HELP YOUR OWN IN A LARGER NUMBER.

Oprah commented that the store in Chicago said they did not let her in because they had been robbed by two black people two days before. And they said this is why they did not let her in. I DO NOT THINK THAT IS TRUE...They may have been robbed, but they KNEW that was OPRAH! And they knew she would not rob them, being a billionnaire. Come on?! They knew and Oprah knew that they did not want her in their store. PERIOD! BEING A BLACK WOMAN THEY DID NOT WANT BLACK FOLK NO MATTER HOW RICH IN THEIR STORE! Oprah knows this!

I love the comment about having money, because it always feels like if the rich speak about it they'll instantly get poor or something, as if its something to be ashamed of. Especially when you have worked hard for it and many people cannot identify with it. thank you for that.

Thank u Larry for interviewing Oprah; Oprah is a very proud human bring for her accomplishments and I am very very proud of her, knowing that it wasn’t as easy as people think; her past shows brought us the hard core of racism; even as it is happening today in 2020. (Forsyth; skinheads; Jane Elliott stories; etc.); and I personally thank u Oprah! I had no idea how easy it is to talk with u one on one and me not be so nervous and intimidated because of your vocabulary and wealth; you definitely will never forget where u came from and how very far u have come to make your dreams come truth! Take care I care!

This is first time I actually found her to be "real" and relatable. For "me" she has always come across as if she thinks she is just another person-and we all know she isnt and I found that very fake. You are one of the most successful and wealthiest people in the entire world-own it, celebrate it. You have have earned that right. I found it somewhat insulting, her" Im just like you routine". You are not like me because of your fame and extreme wealth. I applaud all of your accomplishments. You have earned everything you have. When she says how great it is to be rich (in so many words), that's real and honest. This si what I needed a bit of from her(not that she cares..lol) Keep living the dream Oprah!!!! And keep spending!!
