      For (G)I-Dle, they produced almost all of their songs, and Soyeon change of concept and style at each album. You can check their classics, like 'Oh My God', 'Tomboy', 'Hwaa', 'Lion' or even 'Is This Bad B**** Number'. But even with those main tracks it shows only few sides of I-Dle. They have some awesome B-Side...

    ()i-dle write and produce pretty much all their own music - the title tracks are all by Soyeon. Soyeon often makes a statement with her lyrics - there's a lot of female empowerment in many of the songs, though sometimes they'll just write something fun or that pushes the boundaries of what's expected. They are involved in every aspect of their work, and it really shows.

    As a huge (G)I-DLE fan, I'm gonna help you out with some info.
    General info: They are a self-produced group wit Soyeon being their main producer, but Minnie and Yuqi produce as well. This is really rare for women in kpop and Soyeon had to fight a lot of prejudices. They are known for female empowerment and constantly pushing boundaries.
    Queencard: They released their single called "Allergy" first and released Queencard shortly after it (both on their "i feel" EP). The music videos are connected like a two part story, so you just saw the second half. Allergy is about feeling insecure and the video ends with Soyeon wanting to get surgery to look as pretty as the other members. Queencard is Allergy's counterpart. It's about being confident and the video ends with Soyeon realizing that she doesn't need surgery, because all she needs is to be confident. She already is a Queencard aka a confident girl, a queen. (Also since you asked: Minnie started the song, she starts a lot of their songs).
    Nxde: Is about the oversexualization of women and how it's assumed that pretty women are dumb. Soyeon was inspired by Marilyn Monroe since her image and who she really was don't match. People just saw her as a sex symbol, but she was actually quite intelligent. The last line is literally "I was born nude, the pervert is you" and I think that says it all.
    The girls and their music are incredible. Here's an overview of the members from oldest to youngest:
    1. Miyeon: Main Vocalist, Visual, 27 years old, Korean
    2. Minnie: Main Vocalist, 26 years old, Thai
    3. Soojin: Main Dancer, Lead Vocalist, Sub Rapper, 26 years old, Korean (got kicked out of the group in 2021 due to accusations that she bullied someone back in school. It was proven false, but now her and the group are not even allowed to mention each other. She started a solo career last year. She was very close with the members and it was an unfair situation)
    4. Soyeon: Leader, Main Rapper, Sub Vocalist, 25 years old, Korean
    5. Yuqi: Main Dancer, Lead Vocalist, Sub Rapper (was lead dancer, sub vocalist and sub rapper before Soojin left), 24 years old, Chinese
    6. Shuhua: Sub Vocalist, Visual, 24 years old, Taiwanese
    What's always helpful are fanmade guide videos on youtube. You should react to one. They are for new fans and the guide reactions always get a lot of views.
    I wrote way too much already. I'm so sorry, but thanks for chekcing out our girls. Feel free to ask me any question about them

    • @drrhsjo
      @drrhsjo Před měsícem

      @@toolertotmusicbox I just saw your reply, sorry. So here's another way too long answer since I love to overshare about (G)i-dle: They are under a label called Cube Entertainment. Like all idols they auditioned for a company (here Cube) and then became trainees there and then got their debut. It's not one of the big labels though, Cube is actually kinda poor. It's a very shitty company in a lot of ways. I really could tell you some wild stories. Yuqi just revealed in an interview that back then Cube thought the girls weigh too much, so they put an info with their weight in the main corridor of the building for everybody else in the company to see until they would reach the weight Cube wanted them to have. Yuqi said she was so embarrassed that she didn't eat for three days so that she would loose weight quickly and Cube would finally put her weight down. It was also Cube that made the decision to kick Soojin out. The only good thing about Cube is that they give the girls a lot of creative freedom, but that's it. And even for that they have to fight. Soyeon had to argue with the label everytime she wrote a song to convince them to release it as a single, especially in their earlier years. The girls also constantly make fun of the label in interviews themselves. But I feel like the company would go broke without them so they can kinda say what they want without having to fear big consequences. That's the interesting part. Kpop groups always get a seven year contract with their label and in May 2025 Gidles contract with Cube ends. They are now in discussions for either renewing the contract or leaving the label. It's hard to say what they will do, because if they leave they probably can't continue as Gidle as Cube owns the name (They could continue under a new name though). But staying seems unlikely too since they are mistreated there, Cube is bad at promoting them and also kinda overworks them. Otherwise Cube needs them for money, so I feel like the girls kinda have the upper hand in the renewal and maybe can now change the contract to their advantage. We'll have to wait and see

  • @Alicest.
    @Alicest. Před měsícem +7

    How fitting to not wear makeup for a Gidle reaction ♡
    They're very much a girls' girls group
    Queencard's MV is the protagonist (girl with big glasses, Soyeon) imagining what it would be like to be a "queencard" (basically, a popular girl) while under the effects of anesthesia for a plastic surgery because she thinks she needs to look a certain way and have certain body parts to be a queencard. By the end, she realises being a queencard is about being confident in yourself, wakes up and cancels the surgery
    It's a much needed message in the kpop industry

    "Nxde" is about the people's view on women, obectifying and oversexualizing them. The lyrics are trying to say that you should't think dirty when you hear aor see nude and in the chorus they say "yes, i'm nude" (without the "a" nude) which they refer that they are themself and don't care what people think about them. They are also saying that women are more than just a pretty face.
    There are also a lot of details in the music video that are important (the newspaper and the comments for example), they like to put a lot of details in everything (sometimes even the outfits have a meaning).
