In Germany we have an interesting school project where there is no frontal teaching but individual learning where students make their own lesson plans in order to organize their everyday life and learn by themselves. Its pretty good

Boardwalks in Japan - I think I remember seeing them in one anime set in a seaside town, but I wonder whether they're common or not? Oddly enough, when I lived in Auckland, New Zealand, I went to lots of beaches near the big city, but never saw boardwalks of the kind you often have in the US or UK. That was a long time ago, though....
I had never thought of this until watching this show. America's diversity means we have a lot of stuff that may other places do, but we also have those American originals... Thanks for sharing!
Odaiba definitely had a boardwalk - though a lot of parts of that area are trying to be like other parts of the world (there's even a mini Statue of Liberty there) so it may be an exception.
